My problem was that .
i wanna run javascript function in Default.aspx and i have called the function

View 4 RepliesI have this javascript
function myFunction(source) {
window.open(source, "Title", 'width=400, height=400');
}
and in c# code I call it by
HtmlPage.Window.Invoke("myFunction", source);
which opens up a aspx page and goes to its OnLoad function:
protected override void OnLoad(System.EventArgs e)
{
base.OnLoad(e);
how do I pass in parameters to the event args in the aspx page? or is that even possible? and how can I pass these parameters from my c# code to the javascript?
In an .aspx page with the vb.net codebehind i am using IFRAME , which would be created inside the repeater control. Since i want to resize the IFRAME based on the content within the page i have been using the resize function Obtained from here on the IFRAME onload as shown below.
<iframe id="IframeSubsectionArea" scrolling="auto" width="100%" onload="resizeIframeToFitContent(this)" runat="server">
However it is throwing the error as the method could not be found in the form. Is there any client side script variant for the onload event? May i know,What might be the reason for the error and its solution?
I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this problem; I have a collapsible panel extender to which I need to add some event handlers via javascript on page load:
$find("behavioridhere").add_expandComplete(expandHandler);
This was working perfectly...*until* I split the page into the Master/Content page scenario. The control, the scriptmanager and the javascript are all declared in the content page right now. Suddenly, all my client side code comes up as the object being null or not found at the window.onload event. After 3 days of chasing this dragon, I added a test button which calls the same functionality which should run onload and when clicked, it has no trouble at all finding the object *after* the page has fully loaded. I've looked into almost all the posts on the web about this and I've found the question...but not the answer. I've played with the recommended fixes dealing with BehaviorID...the ClientID...the ctl100_control_object and ctl100$control$object names and I'm still dead in the water.Somehow, I have to get this code to run at the page onLoad event.
So I have an .aspx page loading up and populating drop downs based on a lookup table in the database. What we want is for the user to be able to configure which of these values comes defaulted by specifying that value in a drop down somewhere else in the app. Now, it's easy to default the "first" value, or something like that, but we want this to act differently. Is there a JavaScript function that can run immediately after onLoad (so the drop downs are populated already), that can go through the drop down and make one of those default so it looks like the page is loading with that set as default and people don't realize the workaround? (weird masking, etc.) I'm not TOO experienced with JavaScript so something like this may already exist. Here is an example of how we add the dropdown control to the page, in case you guys even need that.
With CType(.AddControl(New Controls.ComboBox("CodeId", "../../../../CodeId", "Code")), Controls.ComboBox)
.ForceSelection = True
.ValueField = "LookupID"
.DisplayField = "LookupDesc"
.Validate.AllowBlank = False
.ForceSelection = True
.ReadOnly = EditControl.IsFieldReadOnly(10580)
.BindData(Model.Codes)
End With
I have the following call in my master page
[Code]....
So, in the above on the Master Page onload I am calling the javascript to get the screen resolution Then in my default page....which is being used first. My master page is loading and then my default page is loading. I have this is my Page Load event
[Code]....
However, what is happening is that I am getting the MessageBox.Show from the default page saying the screen is <null> by <null> and then I start getting the alert boxes from the javascript saying what the screen width and screen height is. In my page Load event of default. how can I wait until the java script in Master is done? Or is the a better place to put these events?
I want to call javascript function on label onload, reason I am using an enitity Datasource and assignng a value to this label, but I want to hide it if the value is empty.
View 3 RepliesWe have a function that changes the iframe height at the window.onload event so we can adjust it to the page contents. The problem is that after clicking in an asp:menu the height its restored to its default and the window.onload event doesnt fire...so we need the event that would fire in subsequent loads (tried window.unload but didnt trigger)
The resize function cant be called on the asp:menu click because the window wouldnt have finished loading so the height calculation would fail...
I am working on ASP.NET 3.5, c#, visual studio 2010. I have made a master file and a default page that uses this master file. I have placed a couple asp:contentplaceholders in the master and corresponding code in the page that uses this master. I have also inserted JavaScript like this in the content page (and not the master):
<asp:Content ID="Content6" ContentPlaceHolderID="Mainpage" Runat="Server">
<script src="path1" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script src="path2" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function () {
var options = {
//some java code
};
$(".mycssclass").effect(options);
});
</script>
</asp:Content>
On running the website I get the following runtime error in visual studio: Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'this.node' is null or not an object and it point to some function inside the JavaScript like this.node.onload=function(){..............//I am not a java guy so do not know much about this Where am I going wrong? Why does the site compile correctly but throw this runtime error? I also tried inserting this java code inside the master file in the <head>, but same error.
I want to call a javascript method during page load. I am using application.master of the sharepoint server 2007 as the master page . I have a javascript function on my Master page, how do I access it with a dropdownlist of a content page. Not from codebehind, I can do that, but from the control itself such as the onSelectedIndexChanged event.

I will have a widget on a remote page. In the widget I want javascript or jquery to get all the article content from the webpage and send it back to my website. I only need just the article content and not all the other information on the webpage. I would like the script to send the remote webpage url, page content, title text, and h1 text. I would not like to receive any html tags. Is this possible to do?
The script I am making is like google adsense.

View 3 RepliesI have a form in my content page for which I am doing some client side validations via Javascript. The Javascript behaves as expected if I place the JS code directly in the content page. But if I place the JS code in it's own file and try accessing that from the content/master page (through the script tag's src attribute), I get a run time error when the validation function in JS being called.
To be specific, I get the below error:
Microsoft JScript runtime error: Objected expected/required at this line document.getElementById('<%=txtemailId.ClientID %>').value
txtemailId is in the content page.
Javascript code is placed in validation.js and accessed via master page.
The reason I guess is that when .net is parsing the files, it is unable to substitute txtemailId.ClientID with the client side value that would be generated later on. So, how should one go about it?
I have java script code to set some of the properties of ajax controls.

I have a aspx page with a table with scrollable rows..I achieved this by having a "header" table, and a "rows" table. The rows table has a div with "over flow:auto" so get the scroll bar. When data is loaded in the rows table, the columns have different sizes, and since the columns are not fixed width, the header columns don't match with rows columns.
using JavaScript, I loop through the first row in the "rows" table, and I call the getClientRects() function to get the cell bounds, calculate the column width and assign that value to the header table columns. This works perfectly when I use a regular aspx page. I decided to switch to a master-content architecture, because I have a tab menu at the top of the page, and I copied and pasted the code into the content page. Everything works fine, but the getClientRects() returns all values as 0 (zeros). So how can I get the getClientRects() to return the propper values ?Here is the relevant code:
ASP Code:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
function SetTableColWidth() {
var th = document.getElementById("tbl_SearchResult_Header");
var tr = document.getElementById("tbl_SearchResult_Rows");
if (tr != null) {

I am trying to put google adsense on my default.aspx that has a masterpage. I am not sure I am doing it correctly. Is there a particular place I should be pasting their java script ?
View 7 RepliesI struggled with some javascript issues, and discovered that the problem seemes to come from a failed ajax control access. Here's my problem: I have a master page and a content page.In my content page, I have an accordion with 2 panes. 1rst pane: a textbox and a validation button; I want the button to fire javascript function without reloading page (using "return false;");
In my master page, I put my ToolkitScriptManager.
In my content page, I put my script containing the functions.
The problem is that it seems like I can't access the accordion control in my js functions, whereas I can access my textbox value. ere is my source:
[Code]....
All I want is, that when clicking on button OR changing to 2nd pane, it checks the textbox (function check()), if fails, then doesn't open 2nd pane, stays on 1rst, if not, then closes 1rst and changes to 2nd pane.
