Web Forms :: How To Prevent Someone From Unsubscribing Another
May 7, 2015
I'm sending News Letters to my subscribers. The Email Body is equiped with "Unsubscribe" link for those wishing to.Now, assume one of my "interested" subscribers fowards the email to one of his friends. The friend will receive the email with all of its contents including that "Unsubscribe" link.If that friend clicks this link, it will forward him to my app "Unsubscribe.aspx" page carrying the info of the original email owner. Now, if that friend confirms the unsubscription, my original subscriber will end up unsubscribed!
So, is there any strategy to avoid this "hole" in the system? ... I wish if my app page "unsubscribe.aspx" can identify the source who originate the request to it and not permit "unsubscription" process if not sourced by the original email owner!
I have a web page which generates a .CSV file based on some user input. When this file is downloaded by the user, the file is being automatically converted to .XLS. Any idea how I can prevent this?
For example, I am redirecting the user to the URL of the generated file, like below URL:
http://localhost/reports/Work/aa.csv
But the download window appears to download "aa.xls"!
I have a text box (txtbx1) and a button(btnadd). Id like to use a regular expression validator or of some sort to prevent the user from continuing on the form unless its a number entered.
I visited website that it loaded very slow so I press F5 to reload page for many time after 5 or 6 time site show error that you reload page many time and didn't show website I want do it for my site that if users reload page morethan 5 time in short period of time it show error...
I have a treeview loaded with nodes. When I click on a node that is set to .Selected, I want a frame to load with that node's objects. Instead, it appears that the TreeView is posting back and causing the node that was clicked to be lost. For example, setting the below function to OnSelectedNodeChanged causes a NullReferenceException.
Protected Function LoadObject(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Dim node As TreeNode = tv1.SelectedNode Response.Write(node.Text.ToString())
The web app in question provides a UI for editing a client (in the business sense, not the browser sense), identified by a ClientID. I store the ClientID in Session, which gets passed from page to page, along with a number of other pieces of data in Session. Works great.
The problem is that if the user opens a new browser window using Ctrl N or File->New Window (in IE), the new window comes up with the same page as the current page, with the same session info. Then if the user navigates to a different client in the 2nd window, the ClientID in session refers to the new client. If they go back to the original browser window and save, the original client gets saved using the 2nd ClientID, and all hell breaks loose, because now the data from the two jobs are intertwined.
I have enabled trace and verified that the new browser window uses the same SessionID as the original. If an entirely new instance of IE is opened, it has a different SessionID, so is not a problem. I have not yet investigated other browsers, such as Chrome or Firefox.
Is there any way to determine if a browser instance is opened for a web app which is already open in another window or tab? Or to prevent that from happening?
My problem is am filling a form in a webpage, and click on save for instance, take the URL of mu webpage and paste it in a new window and it loads all the information I subscribed, how can I prevent that knowing that I used the Below code and it does nothing
I need to know how to add a randomly generated token as an additional parameter in my request.
I have 2 listboxes, when i add a item retrieved from database to Listbox1, i need to select the item and bring it to listbox2. But i do not want to have same records added again. In my case, i cannot use the codes below
[Code]....
because the text displayed on listbox1 and after transferring to listbox2 are different. So i come out with a logic which is "if listbox2 does not contain the item value in listbox1 then populate listbox2". So i tried the codes below, but it is not working as there are errors
I have master page with a button of user's connection and with a LinkButton. The problem is that inside the master page I have a registration page that conatins some validators, and callout extender. When I click the button of connection or the LinkButton that are outside the registration page, but on the menu page (=the masterpage), I get the callout extender that pop out without a need. If i wasnt so clear: I cant use any button outside the registraion pagem because of the validators and the calloutextender, who are at another UpdatePanel at all! The buttons I cant use are at another UpdatePanel, and still a else validation from another place is pop ou and cancel my abillity to use those buttons.
I only want to execute this JavaScript function runEx() if publicVarFromCodeBehind != "abc".
I am setting the publicVarFromCodeBehind = "abc" in the Page_Load event but anyway the runEx() function is executing. I wonder how this works and how to prevent runEx() from executing though I need to catch the logic from C# and pass on the variable to the JavaScript.
How can I achieve in an ASP.NET application, that a set of URLs/ASPX pages (parts of the application) cannot be called directly from the user in the Browser? These urls/pages may only be referenced in the application itself.
how to prevent the two session on a single browser ie: first i opening a site on mozilla then login after logged in . I am opening a new table with the same url login using different user after that suppose there is one link called view my profile on user home page if if click the link on first tab browser, it showing the user details on second tab browser user details ie: previous session.how to prevent or avoid this ?
What is the best way to implement an edit page to allow only one user to modify data at a time. For example, if User A is on the edit page, no other user will be enter the page in edit mode until UserA is done editing.
I want to prevent the copy and paste of passwword to confirmpassword. I have tried to prevent this action with the Javascript below but I continue to get the error "The Controls collection cannot be modified because the control contains code blocks (i.e. <% ... %>).".
The jvascript I am using is as follows:
$(document).ready(function () { var PasswordClientID = = document.getElementById('<%= CType(CreateUserWizardStep1.ContentTemplateContainer.FindControl("Password"), TextBox ).ClientID %>'); $(PasswordClientID).bind('copy', function (e) { e.preventDefault(); }); var ConfirmPasswordClientID = = document.getElementById('<%= CType(CreateUserWizardStep1.ContentTemplateContainer.FindControl("ConfirmPassword"), TextBox ).ClientID %>'); $(ConfirmPasswordClientID).bind('copy', function (e) { e.preventDefault(); }); });
This works fine (when you push enter, another function is called) unless the page has a FormView control on it.
In this case, pushing Enter in the textbox above attempts to validate the form on the page. It will still correctly call the onEnter function, but I need the Enter keypress to not cause Validation of any other forms on this page.
All input fields in the FormView are part of a ValidationGroup, but this doesn't seem to affect anything.
What is the best way to keep the .Net validation from happening when I push Enter in my HTML textbox?
I've textbox which has data: This is not valid data for [Smith] [Jackson], Now the user can't edit the text which is in between the [] brackets. How to prevent them from editing the text in brackets? Can we prevent with Javascript? or Is there any other alternatives?
How is a page kept where the user last clicked, instead of scrolling back to the top?
I have a page of controls, the user scrolls down to three dropdownlists to fill out, but when he clicks the first one, the page always scrolls back to the top, and he must scroll back down to the dropdownlists again.
I am checking to see on the form if they answer No to question one then go to comments. On the client side I added autopostback="true". So when the page reloads the random number in the label is updating to a new number. How can I avoid the random number not to be updated when the page post pack to itself?
Protected Sub form1_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles form1.Load Dtetxt.Text = Date.Now F() End Sub Private Sub F() Dim _r As New Random() Dim n As Integer = _r.[Next](5) ' Can return 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4 Label2.Text = n.ToString End Sub
I have a problem with all multiple tab browsers due to session object. I have a requirement that whenever user opens a new browser I need to show different values, so I thought of using Session as in IE 6 every browser creates a new session. But all other multiple tab browsers IE 8 and FF shares the session(If user has already open the browser and try to open different browser). How can I create new session whenever user opens a new browser window. My application is basically in ASP.NET and server side we have C#.
I just want to detect who came to login into site and if same login already logged in ,if same login previously exits then we need to logout the previous session , how to do it using asp.net c#
