View 3 RepliesI have an issue that I've spent quite a bit of time trying to solve. I have a Detailsview and a Gridview that I have linked using the ID field, It has now been decided that they want to have individual pages for each Unit. I have this working for the most part, however the detailsview is not being displayed until I hit select the row in the gridview.
How do I get this to automatically display on page load?

View 3 RepliesA picture is supposed to be worth a 1000 words, so let's see if that can shorten this post up a bit... Essentially, I'm looking into "how" to code a solution that runs on the web server within the cloud that will send a print command to a printer within office 1 (label printer).
The print job is really part of work flow within the ASP.NET web application and I would like to keep all of the code within a single application if possible. How can I go about doing this?
Due to security, I should avoid creating a new application within Office 1 that pulls data from the "cloud" and have the "cloud" be used to push the command downward. I'm really looking at this from a code standpoint within the ASP.NET app and also potentially transcending into more of a serverfault/superuser question on the printer. I'll save that for a future question there though.
I am getting an error : Unable to load Print control with the defalt print option of the report viewer
there is a RSClient.cab which we would need to install to get the print control running in every client but then all the clients in the organization would not have a the admin rights to install it.
I am facing one problem since two days in ssrs 2008, i am not able to solve this problem.
Problem Statement:- I am getting "Unable to load client print control" error when i am trying to give print option from report server.
The sequence of events is as follows:
1. A piece of software running locally on my pc periodically uploads (approximately every three minutes) to my webserver an xml file comprised of six fields. The file size is < 1K.
1a. The file name is always the same. ie. filename.xml is uploaded. Three minutes later, filename.xml is uploaded again, this time with different contents. I have no control over renaming this file.
2. A chunk of code that parses the xml and inserts the six fields into a database
3. Deletes the xml file
4. Waits for the next xml file to appear in the folder
5. Goto 2.
The locally running software uploads the file without issue. So far, I'm able to parse the xml, do the database insert and delete the file manually by refreshing the browser window and subsequently running the code in the .cshtml file. What I'm having a hard time conceptualizing is what the best way is to set up an automated event/method that watches the folder and when a new file appears, write it to the db without user intervention. Also, where would I put this code? _AppStart? Do I need to start a FileSystemWatcher event on the server somehow? I'm kinda stumped as to how best to proceed.
How to fill username and password automatically when load a web page in asp.net ....
View 1 RepliesI have googled and searched the forums for an answer to this but nothing seems to fit.
I have installed the SP1 release of SQL 2008 Report Viewer Distributable and the SP1 of 2005 as well. My report viewer control is pointing at version 9.0.0.0 in the page references and web.config.
The problem is when clicking on the print icon i get the ActiveX control install prompt, click install it disappears briefly and I then get the "Unable to load client print control error". This is happening on my development machine.
Under the C:WINDOWSDownloaded Program Files folder i have a control with the name {0D221D00-A6ED-477C-8A91-41F3B660A832} I have tried removing this and allowing the ActiveX to install again, but this has made no difference.
I have the "Unable to load print control" on two live web servers so want the control working on my development machine before i tackle the issue on the servers.
how i can load an panel(that contain for example Weather information) after page load
View 2 RepliesEvery time I create a new aspx page and add some new photos and text, after I finish, I have to update page title, Web.sitemap, Sitemap.xml to feed search engines, static sitemap.aspx page, add photos to proper folders, update database to display feeds etc, and I have to remember to upload all new files including links to any new pdfs....This routine eats my time and drives me crazy.
I was wondering if there is such interface, where you need to create only 1 aspx page, for example "Articles" which can populate Texts, photos etc into pre-defined sections, but at the same time it displays with different URL's, so there is a permanent link to it. After you finish it creates a title automatically, based on article title, populates Web.sitemap - does all the dirty work. Similar to how blog engines, Joomla and Drupal work.
I have a situation where in, one of the form has to show some processing message on the Page and then automatically redirect to another page.
