Apr 28, 2012I want to send an sms from my web form to the client ....
View 1 RepliesI want to send an sms from my web form to the client ....
View 1 RepliesThe user clicks on a button on a page and as a result he gets a new page send back.
Most times everything is fine now, but sometimes this page needs to be updated within a few seconds but the user don't knows this.
I know I can poll from the client site with reload, but this does not fit here.
I need a kind of push update from server to client ... the action must be initiated from server, not from client ...
I create my own litte ViewEngine, done many things that works great, but now I want something to implement, but I don't know how.
I want the final Response Content when the controller is executed and the view is executed, manuelly manipulate and than send to the client.
I have two Examples for it.
First I have an AssetManager, he collects all Css files and JavaScript files, given by components, the view, classes and so on.
And this collected links I will insert with String.indexOf before the "</head" tag.
The reason why I want do this in the engine and not with a line like this in the head part
[Code]....
Is that I want so save me the work to do this every time on each project in the master page and maybe in single views.
A second usefull idea is, I want to write my own litte trace component, and I want so write the generated content before the "</html>" tag.
where I can manipulate the content before sending it to the client, and this in the engine?
We have n-tier asp.net app with approx 200 pages and 400 classes spanned over many dlls . When we want to send patch (single .aspx page changed) we have to compile it as a solution and deployed for QA testing. Once QA tested, we need to send the patch to client where we face problem. Now, we need send the entire published folder which includes many code that are not part of changes.
View 1 RepliesI've been stuck on this one for a while, so it's time to consult the pros. I've created a charting application that uses javascript to do heavy DOM manipulation/generation on the client (creating barcharts made of colored divs, etc).
Long story short, I want to avoid sending my js library to the client. Is there any way to create the content on the server, using my existing javascript library, and only send the javascript-generated HTML to the client?
my website sends email just fine on another host. I should not really have to change anything to make it work on this webhost. However, I have followed the instructions for this host and it is not working. Here is my current web.config.

I am getting my mail message printed at the top of my browser with the correct information. Why isn't this going through the mail server?
I'm looking for possible ways for sending files from browser to server.
One obvious way is using form with enctype='multipart/form-data'.
I wonder if there are other ways than this.
The reason I ask you this question is this file uploader: http://aspnetajax.componentart.com/control-specific/upload/features/core_features/WebForm1.aspx
It's not flash based, but it sends the file in a way that it gives you a progress bar, but when you send a file with form with enctype='multipart/form-data' the whole file will be send to the server so you can't actually show a progress bar of uploading process.
I am developing the web site, It consists of device name list and related Build Button. When one click the Build button the one process will run in server. When more than ten user click the Build button more processes will create at that server will hang. How can send all request from client to single process in server.
View 2 RepliesI am looking for a means by which ASP.NET can create an Outlook MailItem and stream it to the client machine for the user to review prior to sending. I know that its possible to create files such as Word docs and Excel spreadsheets an then stream them, but I don't know how to do it with ASP.NET.
View 6 RepliesI would like to manually send an HTTP 40x error code to client from a web method in c# asp.net web service.
Specifically I need to send 400 (Bad request) or 401 (Unauthorized).
I was thinking about the flow to look like:
if (a <= 0)
{
//send HTTP Error 400 - Bad request to client
return;
}
Is it possible? How?
the idea id I need to send data to the client to the server to inform the server of some events at the client, and i need to send data from server to the client to inform the client of some results on the server. now from client to server is easy I use xhr easy enough. and to send data from server to client I thought of using long polling in xhr so to test I wrote the following code:
[code]
<!-- Test.aspx -->
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Test.aspx.cs" Inherits="Test" %>
as per my flow on every click i have a postback without which i cannot store data to client or server.i have 2 ways of data storing one is client side in javascript variables in form of array(which can be lost on postback) the data to be stored are of differnt types some are numeric , some single characters some sepearted with comma other way is on each post back save the data in a session varibale on server & then access currently i have second way considering both the ways and in accrodance with the current flow which is best for maintenance & access speed reasking as i am notyet cleared abt the things.
View 1 RepliesI'm losing client side href. Is it possible to send it back to the server on the button submit using a variable or something?
View 1 RepliesI want to send two Id when I click on linkbutton on client side how to concat this two Id I will show my code
<script type="text/javascript"> function pageOpen() { var RevisionId = document.getElementById('hdnRevisionId').value; var ContractId = document.getElementById('ContractId').value; window.open("ManageClientContracts.aspx?RevisionId=" + RevisionId) }</script>
<asp:HiddenField runat="server" ID="hdnRevisionId" Value='<%#Bind("RevisionID") %>'
<asp:HiddenField runat="server" ID="hdnContractId" Value='<%#Bind("ContractId") %>'
<asp:LinkButton ID="lnkSelect" runat="server" Text="Select" OnClientClick="pageOpen();"> </asp:LinkButton>
i have a production server that does not have ftp access. Possible way to deploy files is connecting with remote desktop client and send files.
As you know this approach is highly hard and time inefficient.
I know that I can receive an javascript object from the server via ASP.NET AJAX using Json. But I am not sure how can I send an javascript object from my client-side javascript to my server-side code. And if I can, how can I extract this object in my server-side code and access its members?
View 1 RepliesI know how to send emails, but is it possible to send out text messages?
View 8 RepliesI'm needing to send around 500-2500 emails out at a time to internal email accounts. I'm wondering which was would be faster both for the mail server and for my client app. Should I send multiple emails with just different TO addresses, or just one with multiple BCC addresses? I tried testing this by sending a bunch to my own email and the multiple emails method work, but with the BCC and a single message I only get that single message in my inbox. Shouldn't I be getting as many copies as the number of times I put my address in the BCC line?
View 1 RepliesWhat is Web services? What is Web services? How can I Transfer the data from server to client and client to server using XML. Need one simple Example program(C# web Application) ...
View 1 RepliesIf I have something like the following:
<asp:TextBox id="test" runat="sever"></asp:TextBox>
<asp:RequiredFieldValidator runat="server" ControlToValidate="test"
ErrorMessage="Required"></asp:RequiredFieldValidator>
<asp:Label runat="server" id="lblStatus"></asp:Label>
if in the code behind, I set the label to "You must enter a value if the textbox is empty" to validate it on the server side and this is fine, but if javascript is enabled, I don't want to show the client side validation and the server side label together. Is this something where I would just have to disable the client-side validators if javascript was enabled?
can i show facebook send dialog at send button click. mainly i want to send some group,page on one send click. so which will be suitable way.
View 1 RepliesWe've got a client app which connects using TCP to a server. Additionally, the client app makes use of .NET remoting to talk to another piece of locally running code.
I'm tasked with creating a "Client Simulator" to do some testing, where we'd need to have 100's of clients connected simultaneously to the server. Ideally, this would work out great if I were to run each client in it's own space, such as a VM, but this is not logistically feasible.
how to handle this? Is there a tool that could do something like this? Or some sort-of .NET concept I could use?
I have a user control which contains a CustomValidator which is used according to whether a RadioButton is checked or not (there are several RadioButtons, I'm only showing the relevant one)
<asp:RadioButton runat="Server" ID="RadioBetween" GroupName="DateGroup" CssClass="date_group_options_control_radio" />
[code]...
There is some client + server side validation code (the server side code does exactly the same thing and is skipped for brevity)
<script type="text/javascript">
function ValidateDateFields_Client(source, args) [code]...
There are two instances of this control in the page. When running the client side version it hits the wrong one (the version of the control which is disabled). You can see from the generated HTML both are correctly specified. I'm not sure how .NET works out which clientside function to call given they both have the same name.
<script type="text/javascript">
//<![CDATA[
var ctl00_MCPH1_QueryTextValidator = document.all ? document.all["ctl00_MCPH1_QueryTextValidator"] : document.getElementById("ctl00_MCPH1_QueryTextValidator");
[code]...
Do i need to add something in to scope it? What's the best way to achieve this? If I disable the loading of the second control everything works fine.
I am working with a chatServer application. I want to transfer(share) one file from client machine to another client machine, like gtalk file send without saving that file in server (I meen directly transfer from client to client). How can i do this in asp.net
View 7 RepliesI'm going to create my own project, and i have some difficulties with technology selection. I will have client application(windows forms) and web service. Data exchange between clients will be only by using this web service. Data will be like image stream,so I don't know which technology to use. I started to look at WCF, but i don't know a lot about it.
