Web Forms :: How To Show The Calendar Extender On Focus To A Textbox
May 3, 2010
I am having a textbox with calender extender to it. On button click i want to set focus to my textbox and i want to make the calender visible at that time.so i wrote on button click :
myTextbox.Focus();
But it is not showing the calender associated to it.
I'm trying to get the Calendar Extender to open / show the calendar on focus. It works fine if I click on the text box, but when the user selects an option from a drop down list I'm tring to enable the text box and calendar extender and set focus after the page_load. For exmple see below:
If Session("Status") = 3 And Session("Closed") = False Then Me.txt_ClosedDate.Focus() End if
The problem is if I put a break point on the Page_LoadComplete then hit F5 to continue it works fine, but If I run it without stopping for my break point it sets focus (puts the cursor) in the text box but doesn't open the calendar. How can I set focus and have the calendar open automaticlly?Is there some way to simulate a click event on a text box after the page_loadComplete?
i have calendar extender that has targetcontrol property set to a textbox and i want the focus to be on that textbox after the user select a date , i have tried with this OnClientDateSelectionChanged = "SetControlFocus();" in which SetControlFocus is a javascript function that set the focus to the textbox with this line document.getElementById('txtbox').focus(); but it didn't work!
I wanna use calender extender, but with 2 modifications.
1.) The calender itself must contain the 2 dropdown lists (one for year and other for month) and below these 2 lists there are dates (1 through 31) on selecting that the calender disappeares.
2.) Is it possible to have calender show only few years for example if I use calender for Age purpose then I want users to select only 1920 through 2000 so calender shows only those no of years.
I have a a gridview with a number of columns, each column has a textbox with a calendar extender attached. The problem comes when i click on the popup button, it opens a calendar for each row in the column at the same time. So if there are four rows, it will open 4 calendars. How do i make it only open the one for the specific row i am working with?
When I place a value in TextBox1 and then click inside TextBox3 (which is there to have a place to go to get out of TextBox1 and TextBox2) the value from TextBox1 remains and is displayed in the MessageBox.Show correctly.
When I pick a value from the drop down calendar extender in TextBox2 for a brief micro-second the value from the calendar displays in TextBox2 and then the MessageBox.Show displays and the value in TextBox2 returns back to the orginally set value. The MessageBox.Show shows the orginally set value.
For TextBox2 if I set AutoPostBack=false then the TextBox2 works correctly and keeps the date picked from the calendar extender but the ontextchanged="TextBox2_TextChanged" never fires.
I have a text box embedded in a wizard control and I want to use the ajax calender extender to populate the textbox in the wizard, but the extender does not find the text box.
function calc(row) { var grdID=document.getElementById('<%=grid1.ClientId%>'); var Rate; var excise; var Tax;
[Code] ....
I have a javascript for amout calculation and validation for grid controlsi have called this function on grid rowdataboundfor few gridtext controls i have set onblur event & for few i have onchnage event the problem is for few grid textbox where i have validated i get the mesaage even before the control get focusi want the alert message only when that particular control has lost focus not other wise.

i want to use a ajax calender extender in which when user clixcks on button caleder show only dates of current month not previous dates.i dont want to disable dates. i should not apper on current month calender. means it should start from 1 and end to 30 or 31
I am using Framework 2.0, ASP.NET AJAX 1.0 and Visual Studio 2005.I am using 2 Ajax Calendar Extender in my page. I am using a text box and html image control and setting the TargetControlID to the test box id and the PopupButtonID to the image control name. When i click the first image the calendar pops up and without choosing a date if i click the second image the second calendar control opens on top of the first calendar control. Is there any way i can make the previous one disappear without choosing a date leaving the calendar control associated with the last image clicked.
I have a calendar extender for a text box. I have set the text box 'causesvalidation' to false.
I have several other cntrols with required field validators. When I click the popup image for the calendar extender, rhese other required field validators show their error messages.
Currently, I am using Calendar control on ASPX page. Instead, I want to use AJAX Calendar Extender control because of the animation effect and the way it moves between years making if much more impressive than Calendar control.Is it possible to display Calendar extender on page permanently, just like Calendar control?
I need to set focus on a textbox in parent form after the pop extender closes. I am setting the focus before showing the popup, but when the popup closes, it is lost.
