I would like this sort as follows(Csharp.net):

I have a one-d Array named zz containing {5,3,8,1,9,6}. Current order of indices of the elements is : 0,1,2,3,4,5.
Now I want to sort the array z in ascending order in such a way that its corresponding indices also sort according to its respective elements.
Ex: Elts in Ascending order : 1,3,5,6,8,9
and Respective indices will be : 3,1,0,5,2,4.
Another Ex: What "Additions" should i make to the following code, if the Array Element repeats ?? Epected Oreder of Indices : 1,0,4,3,2

I have 1 Gridview that displays 10 different scenarios based on what button is clicked.
I am also returning only top 10 records. I am doing all of the data binding pragmatically. So I have BoundFields, HyperLinkFields etc.
I also want to sort some records. When I change DataSource SQL statement the gridview somehow remembers what the last sort value was and it errors out saying that value "x" cannot be sorted because it does not exists.
I tried this:
Tried setting gridview1.sqldatasourceid = null; gridview1.allowsorting = false; gridview1.databind();
Here I get an error that says that the data source does not support sorting? Doesnt it say gridview1.allowsorting = false;
I also tried gridview1.sort("", SortDirection.Ascending); This does nothin... except query my database one more time because i have a onSorting event that looks like this:

Reading the code below should add 2 values to the dropdownlist ddlPost and should add 2 values to the dropdownlist ddlTailLength. Both values should be A and B. Both of these drop lists should show 2 values (A and B), but are showing 4 values each (A, B, A, B). The only loop on these pages is the one displayed below.

how to pass a C# ASP.NET array to a Javascript array? Sample code will also be nice.
Let's say for simplicity that in my aspx.cs file I declare:

I don't want to link my dropdownlists with a database like most of tutorials and forums show. I just want to link 2 dropdownlists, for instance if one says "Food" I want to show only the food producs in the other DropDownList. All this items are not from a database, I just inserted them in the DropDownList control.

I have until now always stored my lists definitions for labels and values for dropdownboxes in my own defined Xml files. These lists labels I then match with a language file (.resx) ..... so far so good but now I am starting a new project. Should I continue with my old habbits or is there a better way of storing label constants for my dropdown boxes throughout my application?
I would be happy skipping my read and write rutines for my onw structure if there is a better dedicated one for the purpose.
in all browers this works but in IE the dropdown list items in my modal pop up extender vanish when I make a selection. I even have a ddl in ajax panel and the same thing happens. it seems like a bug.

i have over 100 items all loaded in a dropdown list. They all are assigned a value between 1-10 which represent 10 categories. When certain buttons are clicked, i want the dropdown list to display only items with a value "1" or "2", etc.
View 3 RepliesI have a set of 4 separate RadioButton lists that all have different ID names. I know how to set each one up with a required Validation Control to check to make sure at least one button is selected in a particular list. However, what I want to do is have one control validator that is able to check all 4 lists, and make sure that at least one button is selected, no matter from what list.
In other words, when the submit button I have is selected, it looks at all 4 lists. If no radio buttons are selected from any of the 4 lists, it pops up with the required field control validator message. If at least one button out of the 4 lists is selected, it submits just fine.
I have a number of dropdown lists which are populated from a database. They load depending on what the previous dropdown selection was so for example if the system was car based and I had chosen Ford then the next dropdown list would populate all cars made only by Ford. View 1 RepliesI have a page that has a data grid and about 25 drop down lists.The datagrid displays Name and has an id col not visible. I was thinking that whan the user selects the select link button on the grid to then get all the data for all the ddl and populate the list and select the value or multiple values for that specific name that was selected. Thinking of it seems more like i should populate all the ddl and when a grid name is selected only get the keys for that specifc record and then mark the ddl items per that name. there are lots of ddl and lots of data, im not really sure the best way to proced. Any ideas appreciated.
I have a table with id typeId and Name that contains all of the data for the drop down list (different types of service providers , (plumbers, elec)I was thinking of selecting everything from that table and then in the page applying a filter by service provider type and using that to populate the ddls.
my one table consists of fields (id, flying from, flying to). thus i have one drop down for flying from and another drop down for flying to. i'm hoping to cascade them so 2nd drop down values are dependant on the values from 1st drop down. is it possible to do this using a single table? or must i use two tables and link the id's from both? and do i write anyting in the SelectedIndexChange event? the sqldatasource code looks like this:Flying From:

For some reason when i add a bulleted list after a label it moves it onto the next line, is there anything I can do about this? Dropdown lists don't do the same thing - I want it to be;

Also I am using a bulleted list to show a particular field in a database where the line is selected in a previous dropdown - is this the best way of doing it?
Ie select New York in the drop down, the bulleted list then displays the address field from the same line in the DB
I have 2 drop downlists 1 gets the User hits my sql database and pulls back all my users in the database. I have post back on. The second drop down brings back all the account numbers for the user that is selected in the first drop downlist I have that post back on also.
My gridview then uses those 2 dropdownlists to populate for that user and that account number selected.
Now for the problem.
User Albert is in the drop down when page is loaded because its sorts by name the first account number for albert is in the 2nd drop down and the gridview works on page load for albert and account number 1 i can select account number 2 and the gridview changes.
I then switch user to Bill and it populates the 2nd drop down with Bill's account numbers however my gridview at this point is still showing alberts account information. I have to take drop down 2 and select another account say account 2 then my gridview displays bill's account 2 information i can then switch back to account 1 for bill and see that account information.
What do I need to do so that my gridview will populate when the first dropdown is changed to match the 2 new values?

I'm trying to create a page with multiple fields to be used as parameters for filtering a GridView. I'm using a combination of two asp:dropdown lists and two check boxes. When I select a value in one ddl, I want to clear the value in the other ddl. I was trying to use the event "onTextChanged" but that doesn't seem to fire off on the client side and I cannot seem to find any event for an asp:ddl or asp:checkbox or asp:radio button that fires off on the client side.
Are there events, like onClientClick for asp:button, that fire on the client side for these controls when a selected value is changed or when the user clicks on them? or do I need to use html controls instead?
