My employer would like me to create a login page with our logo that:
1.User enter their login and password on our page
2.posts the login/password to the form on one of our client's login pages
3. Takes them user to the client's site, logged in.
I tried searching but most examples don't show how I can then bring the user to the client url, logged in. Any suggestions? Thanks.

My Login.aspx form in Visual Studio 2013 just seems to be 'static' after I enter the correct username and password. I don't get any errors. My Login.aspx.vb code looks like this:
Code:
Imports Microsoft.AspNet.Identity
Imports Microsoft.AspNet.Identity.EntityFramework
Imports Microsoft.AspNet.Identity.Owin
Imports System.Linq
Imports System.Web
[Code] ....
Don't I need a file name/URL to direct the user to after he has successfully logged-on? How would I script that? Finally, I only have one Web.config file (associated with Register.aspx) and that looks like this:
Code:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off"/>
[Code] ....
I don't need another Web.config file for Login.aspx, do I?

When a user that has their IE set to save passwords hits my "Reset Password" form, the first text box set with TextMode set to "Password" is populated with the users saved password. Understandable, this is not the affect I would like as this is their "old" password. I cannot set the text of a text box with mode set to "Password" (naturally). Does someone know how to suppress or clear this value when IE is saving passwords?

I am looking to store a string field, a password, in a location that I can access within the code, but if you downloaded the code from a deployed place, you would not be able to access the password. Web.config is available for all to see, or else I would just slide it in there.

I've created a page to add users, using the CreateUserWizard, I use the Login Control to login.
I have setup the config file to use my SQL server, not express
<remove name="LocalSqlServer"/>
<add name="LocalSqlServer" connectionString="Data Source=xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx;Initial Catalog=aspnetdb;Persist Security Info=True;User ID=xxxx;Password=xxxxxx" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
I go to the create user page, add a user.
I can SEE the user on the database using Server Management Studio...
I go to signon and get "Your login attempt was not successful. Please try again."
I have not customized the login control in any way. (OR the createuserwizard)
HOW can I tell where the Login tool is going to get userid and password info?
How can I tell if it is not finding the user or the password does not match?

I've set up a system with forms based authentication and using the asp:Login control. When I put in an invalid password I get the approriate invalid password message. However when I put in a valid password, it does nothing...just returns to the login page again. I'm triple checked the login info. There is no error message, and the invalid attempts counter doesn't increment. When I put a break point in the Login_LoggedIn event of the Login form, it hits it, but User.Identity.IsAuthenticated is false. I'm not 100% sure it should be true at this point, as I'm pretty new to .NET but it seems kind of odd.
My user database is stored in a sqlserver 2005 db that already existed. I've added a new connection for it.In the authorization I have
<authorization>deny
users="?"/><authorization>

Is it possible sharepoint and outlook exchange on an AD network will close the session. The only way I can get my users to authenticate is by shutting down everything and then relogging back in.
The only pattern I see is that outlook or sharepoint is open during these times. My other thought is something on the AD side is blocking the authentication somehow?

I'm new to ASP.NET. I have a custom login form on my web with login and password fields and OK button. I use my own MembershipProvider to authenticate user. The login control form is in the upper right corner of page and if user is successfully authenticated, I need to display his name and html link "Logout", instead of it.
How can I get programatically user status and use it in condition for displaying login form/login status?

I am struggling to login into my web portal on my new sony vaio laptop. I think that I need to do some settings, or download some plugin. Infact I don't know what to do, as I have spent many hours trying to login, but no success. Below is my office website:[URL]When I enter my credentials and click login, the web page gets refreshed, i.e username and password get erased, rather than taking me into my web-portal. The laptop is having windows 7 home premium, with ie8. I have also tried installing firefox, chrome, opera and safari, but same problem.
as sony has refused to take the laptop back and they are saying that there is problem with website. Similarly, website staff are saying that there is a problem with the laptop and not with the website.

I dont know whether this simple task or not, but I tried to search in google but couldn't find anything.
I've a asp.net form and user enters some data in the text boxes provided. Whenever user submits the form, browser will save that form data. I don't want this form data to be saved in browser. How can I restrict the browser saving this form data without touching the browser settings?
Application is developed using asp.net and normal text boxes are used here.

I am having a big problem trying to set the password for a login (MS SQL Server Management Studio).
I can create a new login and specify a password. Hitting "OK" reports no errors. Opening the newly created login shows that windows has automatically changed the original password to something else (I can tell because of the password length).
I have no idea why this is happening and have even tried reinstalling SQL.
