Web Forms :: Page Reference With Window.ShowModalDialog?

I have created 2 webpages call Default.aspx and Detail.Aspx. On Default.aspx, i had written a javascript to popup Detail.aspx through windows.ShowModalDialog.
Now how do i get reference to Default.aspx page within detail.aspx ? (like in Server.transfer function, i can just call this.Page.PreviousPage).
Reason for getting Page Reference rather than value reference, is, i can call all property and class within default.aspx.

I am using the javascript to open a child window using window.showModaldialog(), i have retuen a value from the child page is working fine in IE and firefox but is not working in chrome browser, is there any work around or alternative for it to work in chrome as well.

I have two webpages, parent page .aspx and child page .html.
On parent page I have JavaScript function for invoking child page as modal window via window.showModalDialog.

So when I launch parent window and invoke child modal window, parameter with "someValue" gets returned to the parent window (to modalReadyForTest control) upon clicking the button Button1.It works fine when I have both parent and child pages on the same domain. When I have them on different domains, value of the parameters does not get passed and instead it is always "undefined".Is there any way to have modal window from different domain returning parameter value to parent page? Can those cross domain issues be solved at all or should I try completely different approach?

I am opening a child window using window.showModalDialog() method. In the child page i have few server side controls whenever a postback happens the child page opens in a new window.
I have also set in my head tag,but it is not working.

For example
In Page 1: i have an anchor on whose click i open a child page(page2).
In my child page Page2: I have an asp.net button to search based on the criteria. when i enter the criteria and click search, the search results are show in new window rather then the same window.

I have two pages A.aspx and B.aspx Page A.aspx opens B.aspx as modal popup by javascript function window.showModalDialog("B.aspx"); Page B.aspx has two text boxes (Login, Password), <asp:Button> control and button click event in server code. Problem is when I click on the submit button it opens me B.aspx page in new third window How is it possible to not open new window on submit button.

I want to display only single table in pop up window out of many tables present on my page. i have 3 check boxes.When user checks those check boxes and clicks on "Generate report Button" then i want to display a static table in pop up window according to the selected conditions.. these static tables are already present on the page but are hidden..so i want to make them visible and show in showModalDialog(...)"

I have a login page that is loaded in popup window (colorbox) and after user logs in it should be closed and parent window should be loaded with new page.

in my default.aspx page i have a dropdown List and a textbox with a submit button below that there are 2 listbox... and the dropdown list holds the names of the listbox
my logic here is to select an item from the dropdown list and put some text in the text box and submit the form which will add an item to the listbox selected.. but when i do this i get an error saying Object reference not set to an instance of an object. i tried to figure out the problem and found that when i remove the reference to the Site Master Page it works fine and when i undo and apply my reference back to the Site Master Page i get the same error.

I am hoping someone has experience with this, but I am loading a window from a link on my main page. The window loads an ASPX page via the window's loadmethod of iFrame. The aspx page has its own update panel on it and I was wondering how I can call the window's "spinner" / process indicator while the page is processing. I have looked at the documentation on some online information about it but I am not sure how to implement it.

i have two webforms (webform1, webform2). webform 1 has one asp button and webform2 has one aspbutton control. My requirement is i need to show webform as modal dialog when i click on webform1's button.
The problem i am facing here is when i click the form1 button it opens the form2 as dialog well and good. the problem is if i click the button inside the form 2 it opens the form2 dialog again. i have not written any code for form2 button.
below is my code :

So I understand that the HperLink is a Client Side Control but I need code behind so that I can store the click event in the database. If I use the Link button, I have the opposite issue where I can access the client side but cannot open the url since this control does not have the NavigateUrl attribute.

I have a PDF help document that I would like to store on the server. When a user is on the site and clicks on the help link, I would like it to open the PDF help document and go to a particular page, depending on where the user was when they clicked on the link. For example, if they are on the Staff Projections page when they clicked the help link, I would like the PDF to open in a new tab and automatically go to page 32 which contains information about Staff Projections. I am running .NET 3.5, and the company uses Internet Explorer 8.

I am trying to use the FindControl method in the EmployeeDetails page, but am having a hell of a time trying to figure it out.
Everything I try returns a null reference:
Control test = FindControl("TextBox1"); //test = null
I can see the controls are there when I do a quickwatch on this.Page and if I try and access the controls directly, like this:

I am developing a usercontrol, in this case a toolbar. Some of the buttons on the toolbar will interact with other objects on the page which are not part of the toolbar. (In this case a map) So the toolbar code behind wants to say something like this:

My problem is that MyMap does not exist in the design environment of the usercontrol and therefore produces an error when it is referenced. So my question is, How is this typically handled? Can the usercontrol reference another control that does not exist within itself?

All I need to know is HOW do I reverence the label from the default page and visa versa..
In the web world things are not the same.. This is just an example .. to prove the point.. but I am trying to copy the settings from one object on page 1 to an object on page2.

I plan to put a Button on the existing page and when a user click the button, a new page or window pops up with what I have coded for that page. My preference would be that the user don't have to tweek any browser options or configure anhing else to open the new window with the click.
