Web Forms :: Parser Error - Strange Characters On Page
Nov 28, 2010
I am having a very odd issue for my website [URL]. I am seeing strange characters in the home page. visit the site [URL] to view the details The site works perfectly in local system The site is done asp 2.0 and sql server 2005. I have made the customer error mode to Off to view the issues. But the page is coming in odd characters.
I uploaded my .net website precompiled under vs 2008. I do not have this issue with my site running on a webhost with .net 2.0 under sql 2005. When I login to the site, there are oriental characters:
[Code]....
Every one of the squares is an oriental character. I have tested this on two servers now. As you can see, the characters start right after the Doctype line. This is where another page is loaded on my site.
I have a web application that users insert some comments to the database. But when they try to Write some non-Ascii character to textbox some strange characters apperars instaed of my entered characters.For example When i write ı it appears like this ı
Recently I started a project and added a HTML file in it. I modified the HTML file and run it in Visual Studio to see the output. When I tried to validate the HTML file, I found some strange characters got appended. This is quite annoying, although I am not able to see those unexpected characters, I wonder what is the cause of the problem. I didn't adjust anything in control panel of the IIS server, I didn't modify the Web.config file. I tried to add another HTML file and put the same content into it, the same problem occured. Could someone tell me how should I troubleshoot the problem?
using vb.net/asp.net 2005 and sql server 2005. I'm querying the database and returning text which I am then adding to a string. I'm creating a crystal report with the text however this is not a crystal report question, its about the string data. what I"m noticing is that when I show the string on the pdf that there are some strange characters at the end of the string. I am both trimming the string and taking out null characters however the strange text shows up like this:
I am using silverlight / ASP .NET and C#. What if I want to do this from silverlight for instance,
// I have left out the quotes to show you literally what the characters // are that I want to use string password = vtakyoj#"5 string encodedPassword = HttpUtility.UrlEncode(encryptedPassword, Encoding.UTF8); // encoded password now = vtakyoj%23%225
URI uri = new URI("http://www.url.com/page.aspx@password=vtakyoj%23%225");
HttpPage.Window.Navigate(uri);
If I debug and look at the value of uri it shows up as this (we are still inside the silverlight app),
[URL]
So the %22 has become a quote for some reason.
If I then debug inside the page.aspx code (which of course is ASP .NET) the value of Request["password"] is actually this,
vtakyoj#"5
Which is the original value. How does that work? I would have thought that I would have to go,
I developed a website using asp.net 2.0 and sql server 2005. I m using Turkish language content as entries to database tables. But when I try to add any record from my web interface I see strange characters. for example "ÅŸ,ÄŸ,Ä°," characters are viewed like Ã…,? characters. I set my globalization to culture turkish in web.config. So there s no problem with static data on the page and no problem with records I added earlier in my own machine. I just need to send data in a correct encoding to the database.I first thought it was about collation, but changing collation doesn t differ data sent to database, I think I need to do something from my web app, but still couldn't get any ideas.
I have deployed my website to a shared hosting provider and since deployment, it shows the error "XML Parser Error:no element found" from time to time. I have checked my error log and I find issues such as "Object reference not set to an instance of the object" but the weird thing is if I visit the SAME page after a while, it loads!
I have checked with my hosting provider and they told me the below is what they can see on their side:
Exception information: Exception type: HttpException Exception message: Could not load type 'Test2.GlobalAsax'.
I have checked my global.asax and the interits are all correct. I have tried:
a) Deleting the webapplication dlls and rebuilding - didn't work
b) Deleting the global.asax and adding a new one and then rebuild. - didn't work
c) Changing the class name of global.asax.vb and updating at inherits at global.asax, and rebuild - didn't work
d) Change the Asp.Net version to an older version and change back to original version - didn't work
e) Debugged my application countless times locally (for the same page) but while connecting to the DB on my hosting provider - no issues found
My webhosting provider is saying there is an error in my code, but if there is a bug, shouldn't it always show the same error?
I also noticed that when the XML parser error is shown, if I were to go back to say Google.com and then to my website's main page, and then to the Page with error, the page loads!!
I am seriously running out of ideas what could have caused this issue. I have also conducted a ping test to my website and I am getting some time outs, will that cause my page to not load from time to time?
I am very new to ASP .net. I need to create web application with ASP .net using VB. I have created a project and create web forms with Visual Studio 2005 (ASP .net version 2.0). And it was working fine on local host. However, I got an error after I published the forms on our hosting site. The error code was as following:
Line 1: <%@ Page Language="vb" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeBehind="Login.aspx.vb" Inherits="KocaWebSite.Login" %> Line 2: Line 3: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
I have tried to find the answers on this forum as well. But I couldn't find clear answer.
I'm getting the typical "Parser Error - the file '/virtualdir/Shared/Controls/filename.ascx.cs' does not exist..." error message on an @Register directive statement in one of my .master page files that references the same file. Note, this is working just fine on my old PC, where I have the same solution running on a Windows XP SP3, IIS 5.1 machine, developed with VS 2008 Team System. I'm now trying to set up my development environment on a new PC, running Windows 7, IIS 7, VS 2008 Team System.
The thing is this, and probably where I think I need help, the specific file it's saying has an error is a file that I added in one project (which was developed using VB.NET) as a linked file from another project (which was developed using C#) in the old PC. The solution in the new PC builds fine and runs fine (home page comes up, login works, brings up next page) until it tries to access a page that uses a master file that references the user control added as a linked file on my old PC. Note, the project and file that the linked file references has been added and exists on the new PC in the very same directory structure as the old PC.
I have created an application which runs fine in VS2010.Now i am trying to host that application using inetmgr.When i try to browse the page from inetmgr content view then i get the "Parser Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified".If i browse the page from VS i am able to do it.I am not able to host the app. may be the reason is the above stated error.
I have a MVC application which is called by entering httphandler in the URL. for example my url is likeexaple.com/client.site/__.ashxNow when i enter illegal characers some thing like this: exaple.com/client.site/_||_.ashx . It is throwing an error saying illegal characters in the URL. I tried to handle it in web.config but of no use.So i added global.asax, by redirecting it to some htm file. It works perfect. But when i enter the illega character like this: example.com/client.s||ite/__.ashxIt is showing the error page. How can I handle this. I tried with custom error page at IIS,but of no use.My requirement is to display custom erro page when some illegal character is entered in the URL.
I have a asp:button in template field of gridview, I set command name for this and in grid I mention on command event. On clicking the page it shows error message is :Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using <pages enableEventValidation="true"/>
I bought a website a few years ago, hosted with WebHost4Life,. Since their migration their has been nothing but problems with my site, however, I am stuck because I don't have the knowledge to move it, have tried with no success. Anyway, recently I have been getting parser error messages, Webhost fixed them, and then it starts over again. It takes them weeks to get around to it and since its my livelihood, I can't afford for the site to be down for 5 days then running for one day. I've tried to contact the guy that built the site to no avail, he won't answer my emails.
why these parser errors keep happening. This is a recent thing from the past 2 months, never had this before. What can I do to stop it. it looks like the knowledge here is unreal, I'm in awe everytime I read your answers. BTW, heres my lastest parser error:
Parser Error Description: An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify your source file appropriately. Parser Error Message: Only Content controls are allowed directly in a content page that contains Content controls. Source Error:
I am using pdf4net to export PDF file. In C# I created complete logic to export data. A large part of it is legacy code so I know for sure that it works. But there is one little problem. Error in the end of code. Everything before that line is fine I check it several times. Bellow is the last line in code and bellow it is error that I receive after that line:
return pdfDoc.GetPDFAsByteArray(); at O2S.Components.PDF4NET.Graphics.PDFBrush..ctor(PDFBrush brush) at O2S.Components.PDF4NET.Graphics.Shapes.PDFHTMLTextBox.boolean(Stream[code]....
I need to add a small training page to an existing website structure. I created a new project and published it to a subdirectory of the website, but when I run it, the .aspx pages throw a parser error because it's looking for the codebehind files in root/bin instead of root/subdirectory/bin. How can I make it look in the right folder?
I have this strange error coming up in VS2008, where is says a variable in not declared in HTML view, when it clearly is declared in the codebehind:Can anyone help with why this might be happening? I've tried all sorts of things, even recreating the page from scratch, but this keeps coming up.
I've seen similar posts but have been unable to resolve my error. When browsing the site from IIS I get the following error- a .master file does not exist. I can see it in the directory and everything works fine when running out of VS 2010.
Parser Error Description:
An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify your source file appropriately.
Parser Error Message: The file '/AMA.Master' does not exist.
I'm a newb to ASP.NET and I made an app in VS2010 using NET 4.0 (Working all fine in debug mode) I tried to host my app @ aspspider and I'm getting the following error:Parser ErrorDescription: An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify your source file appropriately.Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'AuthStealerPanel._Default'.Source Error:
Line 1: <%@ Page Language="vb" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeBehind="Default.aspx.vb" Inherits="AuthStealerPanel._Default" %>
I also tried to rebuild the .dll and upload it to the /bin/ and application's root.
I have built an application in ASP.NET 3.5 framework and it is working fine on localhost but when i am uploading it on my server the page gives an error on loading "Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'Default'." <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" Debug="true" CodeFile="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="Default" %>
Whenever I hove over any one of the menu items on my MasterPage, I get the following error: see attached image.I have no idea what is causing this and the filename on the tab appears to look as if it's a dynamically created page so I have NO idea how to debug it.
