Jun 3, 2010I am trying to pass the parameters dynamically thru Sqldatasource and get the results in grid view. Based on the dropdown list selection it has to show the results in grid view. When I hard code its giving correct results but when passing thru parameters i'm unable to get the results in grid view.
Output shud be something like this:
Select the value: 123
124
125.
Lets say user selects '123', the query it runs in sqldatasource is Select col1,col2,col3 from table1 where col1 LIKE '123%'
results will be 12301,12302,12303 with other columns in grid view.

Oct 8, 2010I have a problem I have been googling the entire day and still have no soloution. I have a detailsview with 2 dropdownlists. Fisrt one is ddlCaregory. Second is ddlSubCategory. The value is passed from the first ddl to display the SubCategory linked to ddlCategory. Both ddlCategory and ddlSubCategory are Templatefields. This is also in VB.
The Details view has a sqlDataSource (sdsApplicants), ddlCategory has a Datasource (sdsCategory) and ddlSubCategory (sdsSubCategory). ddlCategories lists the data returned from sds Categories and save any changes to sdsApplicants. I can get ddlSubCat to display the correct SubCatagory bases on ddlcategory sesection but as soon as I try bind it to sdsApplicants I get the following error
'ddlSubCategory' has a SelectedValue which is invalid because it does not exist in the list of items.

Mar 9, 2010Let's say I have DropDownList ddlRooms bound to the datasource which returns list of available rooms from table tblRooms. On the other hand I have users, and their info is stored in table tblUsers. Using FormView frmUsers can be inserted, edited and updated... frmUsers is be bound to separate datasource. To each user, I would ilke to assign a room, so the value of txtUserRoom will be populated based on the selected value from ddlRooms. How can i pass the selected value of ddlRooms to txtUserRoom while keeping txtUserRoom stil bound to user datasource? Do I need two separate fileds or can i just put value of ddlRooms into datasource user?

Mar 6, 2013I have a dynamic created drop down list - and I set the event of it to be like this:
ddlAnswer.ID = "ddlistAnswer" + QuestionID;
ddlAnswer.SelectedIndexChanged += new EventHandler(ddlAnswer_SelectedIndexChanged);
Please note that drop down list is dynamic, and in selectedIndexChanged, I would like to pass the "QuestionID" to that selectedindexchanged to work on my logic. Is there a way to pass it to that method as command argument or something?

Feb 11, 2010 I'm working with a series of 4 dropdownlists. The First and Third seem to be passing correct values to the database. The second and fourth pass correct value from 0 to 9 but will not pass two digit values. If selected value is 23 the value 1 is sent to database. The four dropdownlists are entered sequentially with other data and sent to database by submit button. All other fields seem to be updating correctly.
The data fields which will not update with two digits are integers. Value 0 to 9 works, 10 to 31 do not. I'm pretty new at this and totally stumped.

I'm stuck in server side code..how to pull the data..in store procedure I'm passing two parameters val1 and val2. val1 gets data from DDL1 and val2 gets data when user types in textbox1 and it has to validate the text...see the code below mentioned and tell me how to pass the params and get the data in gridview...

The BLLOnderhoud is a class and the getReserveInfo is used to get the Model - Brand(merk) Information.Since the dropdownlists are nested in the gridview I can't call them directly and they can't call any of my functions.And this is the problem, when I change the dropdownfield Model the Auto field wich is the last dropdown(in the picture is a typo) should be binded like in the following code:

Mar 25, 2011I had use a combox to let user select staff name and then it will automatically retrive the responsible recommending officer and approving officer to display in other 2 dropdownlist.
my code works fine but when user select staff name each time, the page will reload once to refresh the dropdownlist.
user complaint and don't want the page reload every time, how can i disable the postback? I need to use ajax?

Week, Months and Years.
User have to enter some data week wise for each months and Manager have to approve that.
To Approve manager select months and week from dropdown on his own page and then navigate to User page.
How does I should bind the drop down so that if manager select 1st week from it's page and goes to view link of user then in drop down of user selected value shold be the same as selected by Manager on his own page.

Jan 19, 2010I have one table which contains branch codes(primary key), Branch name and bank name columns. I have 3 dropdownlist boxes. the first dropdownlist is for the branch codes. When i select the a branch code i need the second dropdownlist box to populate with the appropriate branch name and the third dropdownlist box to populate the bank name at the same time.
Is it possible to have one table like mine and acheive this, if so how do i go about doing this?
I did read up on this but only came across ones with 3 tables.
