Web Forms :: Display Selected Criteria From Checkboxlist?

Mar 15, 2011

When a user selects an item from an asp:checkboxlist, I would like for that item to show up in a "Selected: " area. Here is a link to a webpage [URL] that has the same functionality that I'd like for my page. Each time an item is selected, it shows up in the (for example, from the included link) "Selected Catagories" area (or is removed when an item is deselected). I would like this functionality to work for each one of my checkboxlists (I have three separate checkboxlists). The users can select as many (possibly all), or as few, items from each checkboxlist as they want.

Web Forms :: Go Back To The Previous Page Without Loosing Searching Criteria?

Oct 18, 2010

I'll try to specify my problem as simple as possible! I have a problem comunicating between 2 pages; Products.aspx and ProductDetail.aspx. On Products.aspx i have about 15 DDL's on the left side (all set to autopostback), and 1 ListView ond the right side. Results in my ListView control are based on selcted items from DLL's on the left. Every single result in Products.aspx has a dynamical hyperlink to the ProductDetail.aspx. Now when I click on specific product in ListView I'm redirected to ProductDetail.aspx page, and everything works fine! If I click on the Back button in IE or FF it works also fine because it returns me to the previous Products.aspx page and all my results based on selected items in DDL's are still there!

The problem comes when causing some more autopostback's in ProductDetail.aspx page, because every autopostback is counted as a new page request and therefore i have to click Back button in IE or FF for more then 1 time to come back to the previous Products.aspx page.

I tried to implement code BELOW in ProductDetail.aspx.vb but it does not completly fulfill my expectations, becase all my searching criteria are lost when returned to the previous page (Products.aspx)

Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
If Not Page.IsPostBack Then
ViewState("ReferrerUrl") = Request.UrlReferrer.ToString
End If
End Sub
Protected Sub BACK_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles BACK.Click
Response.Redirect(ViewState("ReferrerUrl").ToString)
End Sub

Does anybody knows any other solution how to come Back to previous page with only ONE CLICK without loosing searching criteria?

Web Forms :: Setup To Capture Search Criteria And Present To User?

Sep 8, 2010

Requirements call for the ability to save search values so that they can select them at later times to return the results without having to re-enter the values. They have the ability to search on 4 different types of data (Date, Time and Lat/Long), so they would like to capture what was entered and ONLY if they chose to save those values, it will be saved and next time they login, if they are searching, they can pick an old search and submit it again.

Im thinking that i add a checkbox next to each button, if they check it, it saves the data into a table with there values and username. Next time they login and go tothe search page, if there are any records for them in the table, i present them with a link that displays all the values stored and if they select one, it will run the search again and present them with the results. does that sound like the right way to handle this request?

Forms Data Controls :: Dropdownbox Which Selects Records Based On Criteria?

Aug 22, 2010

I have a dropdownbox which I want to use to search records based on a timescale. The gridview populates results based from that search.

So here is how I want to work this;

If a user selects "today" - a list of records input today are populated. If "this week" is selected, a list of all records added within that week from todays date is populated.

I created a forum on this issue previously but to no avail whatsoever. How do I work around this problem?

C# - Applying Styles To A GridView Matching Certain Criteria?

Dec 26, 2010

I have a GridView control (GridView1) on a page which is reading from a database. I already have a CSS style applied to the GridView and all I want to do is change the background image applied in the style depending on if a certain cell has data in it or not.

The way I'm trying to handle this change is updating the CSS class applied to each row through C#. I have the code below doing this:

protected void GridView1_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)
{
GridViewRow row = e.Row;
string s = row.Cells[7].Text;
if (s.Length > 0)
{
row.CssClass = "newRowBackground";........

It seems as if the top piece of code is always returning the string with a value greater than 0, but when I check the database the fields are all null (except for my test record of "Smith").

I'm probably doing something very simple that's wrong here, but I can't see what. Like I said, I'm still very new to this. One thing I have tried is changing the argument in the if statement to things like: if (s != null), if (s != "") and if (s == string.empty) all with no luck.

SQL Server :: Random Select With Multiple Criteria?

I am working on a project for a market research company that needs to select and have it displayed to my gridview. I need a select statement that will randomly put on my gridview the following:

Recruitment Goal 21 people and out of those people 10 people have to be male, 11 people female, 9 of them white, 9 of them black, 2 of them hispanic. Is there a way I could do that? I was thinking of doing a stored procedure and doing something like

Select TOP 10 * from Canidates where sex = 'Male' order by newid() Into #tmp
Select TOP 11 * from Canidates where sex = 'Female' order by newid() Into #tmp
Etc... and then just selecting from the Temp Table.

Forms Data Controls :: Gridview - Dynamic Label - VB.NET - Change The Text Of The Label If Certain Criteria Is Reached?

Mar 15, 2010

I have Template fields configured for Gridview. The gridview is using an objectdatabsource to bind itself. I have the gridview configured to use Templatefields which then contain tables to display the information. This works fine.

My question is, is it possible to change the text of the label if certain criteria is reached. If "NumberOfDwellings" is 1 then change the label to read, "1 Dwelling". Where-as if NumberOfDwellings has more than one then it's "3 Dwellings".

<asp:Label ID="lbl_NumberOfDwellings" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("NumberOfDwellings") & " Dwelling(s)" %> '></asp:Label>

C# - NHibernate Select Most Recent Record That Meets Criteria?

Jan 27, 2010

Last night I started working on an NHibernate provider. I'm creating a criteria that several records will match, however I only want to return the most recent record (the record with the largest Id). I thought UniqueResult() would do this it cannot be used if a list would be returned otherwise.

I could theoretically select the full list and then return the desired record, but I believe there is a better way.

DataSource Controls :: Searching Table With Multiple Criteria?

Apr 15, 2010

I want to select data from a table where the user can search by 3 options; date, keyword, and type. The date will always be either today or a user chosen date. The keyword can be null or something the user inputs. The type will be chosen from a drop down and can be all or a specific category. I know how to search the date, but the other two create complications. I have created a stored procedure trying to figure this out:

[Code]....

Is there a way to say if the keyword is null then don't use it as a search criteria. If that is possible then type can use that same logic I suppose.
