In the AddTargetPopUP.aspx ,I have button Call "ADD".When i click the add button it'll insert datas into database.I want to reload the parent gridview after insert into the database and want to close the popup.
I used javascript code to open popup window.Popup window "Maximize" button is in
disable state.But in Chrome it is in enable state.I want to make browser maximize button disable.

I am trying to return true or false from popup window to the parent window. Actually the parent window has a button control, which on click popup another window. The popup window holds some emailing data and a button "send". This "send" button onclick send email. Now I want to return true if the email is successfully sent otherwise false, to the parent window. Depending on returning value a label present on parent window displays a text message. But I am not able to implement it. Because it might happen that the popup window is blocked by web-browsers popup blocker or popup window is accidentally closed by user. So how can I confirm to parent window whether or not the email is successfully sent?

I have a page (parent) that open up a popup window using window.open javascript. User will then work on the popup window and the result will be stored in a session variable. When the user close the popup window, how can I put the value of the session variable back to the server control textbox of the parent window?

1) using Sessions("")
or
2)passing the variables as parameteres:

I don't know if it's appropiated passing 8 or 10 variables as the option2 because the user will see a very long url with all the variables, but maybe is more efficient than using Sessions.... Anyway, could somebody clear me up?
I am using a master page in my project. I opened a popup window from content page. What I want to do is, when I close the popup window, the data in the textbox available in popup should be assigned to a text box in parent form. But I dont want to refresh the parent window when I close the popup window. Can any one tell me how can I access textbox in a parent window from a popup window without refreshing the screens.

All the navigation works fine.I click on the button and then using javascript i window.open the page that has the form the problem is that when the new page loads the parent page (the page that has the gridview refreshes and because there are many records it is really annoying how can i use window open to pop up a child page without having the parent window to refresh.
Because im using all this in a dotnetnuke framework i have tried enabling and disabling partial rendering to the parent page page but always refreshes when i open the child window

I do save the data in ViewState and encrypt the viewstate; however, I don't know how to access that information on client side.
I can access the viewstate data fine on Server Side but I need to open the new browser window on server side in order to access the ViewState. I may be wrong. Is there a trick to this?

View 4 Repliesi am writing an application, and i have a link on a page that opens its url in a new browser window. on this new window, i have an asp.net gridview with radio button on each row and each row has a staff_id, and staff_name column, and the gridview has datakeys as staff_id, staff_name.
my question is that i want to be able to select a row (using the radio button) and when user clicks a button on the new window, and i want to populate two textboxes on the parent window with the staff_id and staff_name values from the selected row(in the popup window), and if possible close the popup window.

I have developed an application using IE8. I set my pages up using tables. I have not developed the css skills to be able to use only css. I realize that is the best way. When I change to browser IE7, all of my tables extend beyond the browser window. Does anyone have an advice?? I have set a fixed width and all elements seem like they should fit within the browser.
