VS 02/03 Using Window.opener.location.reload(); In IE7 To Refresh Parent Page?
May 16, 2010
I have a web page that opens another web page in a pop up window. I would like to refresh the parent page when the submit button is clicked on the pop up page. I tried using window.opener.location.reload(); in IE7 but nothing seems to be happening.
I have a screen where on filter icon click on a column i need to show a popup screen or a div looks like popup and in which will have list of check boxes with distinct values of all rows of column one (i.e. the data of popup is like below). All these check boxes are dynamically generated controls.
When user click on any of the above check boxes the parent grid should get refreshed with the filtered data and popup or div tag looks like popup should stay and should not be closed. How do i do this?
How to refresh my parent page details by keeping my child div tag open or child window open? What is better approach whether to create server side div tag or a modal popup window?
I have created an intranet application in ASP. From my main web page I am opening a web browser window and adding a record to database from that new window. Now on close of that window I want to refresh my main web page to reflect the database changes. My backend is "ms access" Also on the other hand I also want to disable the closing button of web browser.
Im calling the new popup window from gridview like
[Code]....
In the AddTargetPopUP.aspx ,I have button Call "ADD".When i click the add button it'll insert datas into database.I want to reload the parent gridview after insert into the database and want to close the popup.
The child window close, go back to parent window, and reload the page and no confirmation box to refresh the page, working as expected. but all my previous entry to the screen is gone. how to retrieve it back or any work around?
I know practically nothing about AJAX, but fully intended to utilize it in the future. Right now though I am noticing a behavior that may require that I implement it sooner then I planned.
I have been working on a fairily sophesticated web form that is made up of tables, dropdown lists, map buttons, and labels. As various controls are selected, specific tables are enabled or dropdowns/labels populated with information. All of this is working great, but when I put it all on a server and accessed it from a remote location, I noticed that every single action caused the entire page to reload.
From what I have read, it looks like AJAX and the UpdatePanel control will allow me to only refresh those areas that should be refreshed. Before I look further into implementing this, is this the only way to go? From what I have read on some other blogs, the UpdatePanel has some high performance costs.
I have a login page that is loaded in popup window (colorbox) and after user logs in it should be closed and parent window should be loaded with new page.
Protected Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Do While reader.Read() If Trim(reader("ZAP").ToString()) = Trim(textBoxZap.Text) Then Session("A") = "1" Response.Redirect("~/default.aspx") Else lblErr.Text = "incorect" End If Loop
So once the buton is clicked and user name and password is corect popup window should be closed and user redirected to default aspx.
When I create a new record by submitting an .aspx page the new record is not showing up. I have to navigate away from the page and back to it for the new data to show.
i have problem with radiobutton is in autopostback=true.
if i check rb1 page is refresh. after using update panel also i face the same problem in my code autopostback=true is compulsary beacause some controls open depending on this option..
Elsewhere in the page, some JavaScript opens a popup. When the popup is filled out and submitted, I want to use JavaScript to fire that OnSelectedIndexChanged event in the opener page. I found some other code that does something similar:
if (window.opener != null ) { var cf = window.opener.document.forms['aspnetForm']; if (!cf) { cf = window.opener.document.aspnetForm; [code]...
I have a link that is located inside a content control. This link calls a javascript function that opens a popup window containing a calendar and passes it the transformed id from the server of a textbox control using clientid. I need to be able to click on a date and have the popup close and insert the date into the textbox of the id I passed into the function which again, is located inside the content control.
i have an aspx page in which a link in the grid view opens a popup page . the data in the grid view would be dynamic and i need to send the id of the row of grid while calling the child window. i get the id using sender.id, but how would i send this using window .open()?
i have opend a popup window using C#.And in pop up window i have a button,clicking that button it should redirect to another page.Here i need to close the popup window and redirect to a page..Right now redirected page is opened in popup window..but it should be opened in parent window .
I would need a code for refreshing parent page from modal, having in mind that modal is a separate page. Note that im using developer express popup for modal.
I've a parent page with a long form. I am opening ajax modal popup extender on the click of a radio button.
Parent.aspx
[Code]....
In child.aspx, I've another long form. When the submit button is clicked, I am doing some processing, after that need to close the modal popup window and refresh my parent page, without disturbing the values already entered in the parent page.
child.aspx
[Code]....
child.aspx.cs
[Code]....
My questions are
1. How do close the modal popup?
2. How I do refresh the parent.aspx without disturbing existing values? My browser is IE, no firefox since it's in intranet.
I have a blog, where people can make comments. I've now decided to put the "writecomments.aspx" file in a Greybox popup-window. It works, but I want to close the window from codebehind (or javascript) after the comment is written. And then I want to refresh the blog page (the parent page) to show the new comment.
This is the code that opens the greybox (writecomments.aspx) page:
In the writecomments.aspx file, I just have 2 textboxes and 1 button (save-button). How can I make the greybox window close itself, and then somehow refresh the blog.aspx? Or maybe just a specific updatepanel for the current comments?
Edit
I got it working, I had to put this code in the codebehind, after the db-insert: Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(this.GetType(), "close", "parent.parent.GB_hide();", true); And for the refresh of the parent page, I edited the gb_scripts.js file on line 12 from false to true: this.reload_on_close=true;
EDIT AGAIN
Actually, I modified it a bit, so, I put the gb_scripts.js file back to it's default state, and I just just the followig line of code in the WriteComments.aspx codebehind file, just after the db-insert:
The function window.opener.location.reload(); is working fine with IE but not refreshing parent page in mozilla firefox browser. how to refresh parent page in cross browser/browser independent.
I can easily open the child.aspx as popup window after click a button from parent.aspx page. Now I want to return some value from child page to parent page. As I want when I type something in a text box of child page and click the close button, this child page close and value display in a textbox of parent page.
I know if I open the child.aspx page with window.open(- - - - - method then I can take advantage of window.opener.updateValues(---- method but I want to open the child.aspx page as model I mean I want to use window.showModalDialog(- - - - - method.
