Here is the website situation:
Webpage A: look & feel alignments are in the central of the screen. It has a submit button. The last code in the submit command() is this message subject:
Response.Write(string.Format("<script>window.open('{0}', '_blank');</script>", url));
where url = another webpage B.The outcome is fine. Webpage B is populated properly. However, Webpage A postback as aligment to the left, it is no longer the center. I could not find a way to debug the issue.

First, I've taken the time to review this question which seems to be the most similar, however, the solution that seems to have been selected will not work in my scenario.Not to mention I worry about some of the comments claiming it to be brittle or an inadequate solution.

-We have an XML document which basically contains all of the information for a Side menu.
-We have numerous URLS which are stored in a constants class.
-One of the elements in a string of XML (well call it label) is used to determine if the menu item is created as a LinkButton or a Label.
-Links use a custom user control that is used standard for all links across the application (why suggestion on similar thread doesn't work - I don't want all links to open in a new window - just one)
-One of the elements in a string of XML (well call it function) is used in a Switch statement to generate our links using Response Redirect.
It may look something like this.

Given this scenario, I'm trying to find the best way to quickly open a New Window, when a specific case in this switch statement is met. Can it be done with Response Redirect (this seems to be arguable - people say no it can't, yet other people say they have made it work)? If not, what alternative can work here?

I need to to export a file to the user. It takes 1-2 min to generate the file so I'd like to have the page go into a kind-of modal mode with a layover on the page and a 'Working' spinner showing. The problem is I can't make the modal stuff go away after Save File dialog is closed.
How can I remove the layover after the dialog is done?

I've been trying to add a Hyperlink column to my gridview that opens a page via a pop-up window that passes an ID. Target="_blank" won't work because I need it to be a specific size.
I've been trying to set it up with Javascript functions but DataNavigateURLFormatString takes away the clickablility on the field if you call javascript. NavigateURL seems to work but without an ID passing to the function it will only open one specific webpage.I have also tried Boundfields but have had no success either.This is the closest I have come to getting it to work:

DataTextField="Catalog_Number"
HeaderText="Catalog Number" [code].....
But with the NavigateURL its only displaying the link as is.

i'm writing a button which need to open a new window and sending binded data as query string:

But the url created is ".../Report.aspx?type=comment&id=undefined", the queryString["id"] is not defined.
In the calling page source html, comment_id has value.

How can i set the variable value of "comment_id" in button onclick, to call the javascript open_win() function ? the comment_id cannot known util runtime, it get value from datasource.

I have a login page that is loaded in popup window (colorbox) and after user logs in it should be closed and parent window should be loaded with new page.

I have an asp.net page that contains an Iframe embedded with some data and a ImageButton. On ImageButton click event (server side) I have Response.Redirct:

This always open the results.aspx in iframe. I want that results.aspx should always open in the parent window. I tried the following till now but none worked:

How do I pass a window name to window.open(url, windowname) programmatically? I am using a user control inside aspx forms. I want the windowname to be different, so from each link a separate window opens.

When I click on save button in the popup, I am saving the details and refreshing the parent page successfully. I have a button in popup window. My requirement is:

we are running a click-to-call service, my idea is basically like this: website have a link on their page, when the link is clicked, a web page(say it is popup.aspx) hosted on our server is popup, user can input their phone number, and click "call me" button to let the website call him. in a webpage I have a link to let the user download file, such as,
<a href="showfile.aspx?filename=xxx">download file</a>
in showfile.aspx, I send the file using Response.OutputStream.Write method. now I get some problem when somebody put this webpage in an IFrame and open in IE, as I checked the code, showfile.aspx is requested twice when clicks the link, and in the second time the cookies of authorization and session Id are missing. I tried to add the p3p header but not working.my question is, is this how the IE designed with iframe? is there anyway to work around?

I have an aspx page and when the user clicks a button the following code runs:
Response.Write(string.Format("<script language='javascript'> window.open('DisplayImage.aspx?DocumentID={0}', 'window','HEIGHT=600,WIDTH=820,top=50,left=50,toolbar=yes,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes');</script>",

The variable id is declared and it's value set eralier in the method.When the new window opens it displays the image properly, but the existing page suddenly loses all of it's styling. The links double in size and change font family. Does anyone know a way to retain styling on the calling page?
