View 1 RepliesI am trying to create a web service that can do the following functionality:
Request XML
[Code]....
How can I create web service to do this.
I'm working with asp.net c# web application. We have completed site and hosted in dedicated server (own server).
This server having only one site (sharepoint site). A page having 1000+ images. Loading in base page. And slide show in popup page.
Base page image painting is going on. At same time popup page image is not loading up to base page paint complete. I changed popup image download to some other server means working fine.
Here my problem is same domain more than 2 request web server (iis) not responding up to first 2 requests complete. We can call 2 requests at a time. How to increase more than 2 request in ie. This problem is not available in Firefox. Firefox can manage more than 2 requests. Ie not allows only 2 requests to one domain at a time.
How to send more than 2 requests from ie to a domain?
C in ASP.NET using C#
View 1 RepliesI wanted to send and receive SMS from my application, as of the need i bought a Wavecom GSM Modem. I also downloaded ActiveXperts Toolkit for communicating with GSM Modem, i can be able to send SMS through the GSM Modem. have problem with receiving SMS.
View 3 RepliesI'm completely blanking here. I've got 2 servers that cannot talk to each other via normal network traffic (like just copying a file). I can't get FTP setup on either server due to artificial company security constraints.Server1 basically just has an exe on it that I have written, and it needs to send a file to Server2.Server2 has a full blown asp.net website on it so I'm writing a .ashx page to handle receiving the file.So...Server1 needs to make a call to server2 and send a file to it over http. Server2 needs to accept the file and save it to disk.Where should I start? I know I can make server1 create a WebRequest object, and set the methodto POST, and then stream the content.But on server2, what am I supposed to write? A generic handler? Will my file that I send be part of the context.Request object? How do I get it out?

View 8 RepliesI have a website written in C# and when a user does something I want to be able to send an IM message to an admin and allow the admin to respond to approve/deny the request.
I would like to use something like MSN Messenger or AIM so that the IM messages can also be sent to phones as sms.
I know how to retrieve a GET object with Request.Querystring("objname"), but how do I receive POST variables using the Request object, or somehow through the code?

View 8 RepliesI want to run a web service method with parameters and get method return value back using JQuery.
ie.
client :
var result = dosomething(var p1, var p2, var p3 ....);
when do something accesses WebService with
dosomewebservice(int p1,int p2, string p3) { return "something" };
result == "something";
Is it at all possible to inject a request into IIS for a page, have IIS and ASP.Net handle it as normal, but get the response as html handed back to me programmatically?
Yes, I know that I could connect to port 80 using WebRequest and WebResponse, but that becomes difficult if you are accessing the IIS server from the same physical machine (loopback security controls et al).
Basically, I want to inject the request (eg for [URL]) between the points at which IIS would normally talk to the browser, and the point at which it would route it to the correct ASP.Net application, and get a response back from IIS between the points at which ASP.Net/IIS applies the httpfilters and hands the html back to the browser.
I'm predominantly working with IIS7 so if there is a solution that works just for IIS7 then thats not an issue.
I wish to make a script which programatically send the POST data to one server and then the other server receive the POST message and retrieve the information. How should make this work? I already successfully write the sender site, the code as follow:
string postData = "id=0&co=5";
ASCIIEncoding encode = new ASCIIEncoding();
I am using the System.Timers.Timer class. And I enable when I send a message and disable when I receive the message. How do I calculate how much time has elapsed. I have set the interval as 1 sec
Basically I retransmit data after 1000 sec again if I do not recive an ACK. I retransmit 5 times max until I get a Ack. If I receive and something before 150ms then I stop retrnsmission.
Here's the code:
timer1.interval = 1000;
port.Write(data)
timer1.enabled = true;
event handler for the received data.
timer1.enabled=false;
I am currently writing a C# web service which has several methods, one of which has to receive HTTP POST requests. The first thing i have done is alter the web.config file in the web service project as below.
[code]....
But when i run this i get "The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error". If i remove the parameter, by removing the stringbuilder and byte code, as well as having no parameter in the web service, it works. So it is obviously a problem with the parameters. I actually want to send more data, and was using a string[] parameter in the web service, but this also failed.
I need to send a cookie to the my web site's visitors and receive them back for information. For example when machine1 visits my site if not set I set a cookie with "user1", for machine2 I set "user2" etc.
Actually I need to retrieve the cookie back from my log file, so I thought if I do this it will be saved to my log file.
as per my flow on every click i have a postback without which i cannot store data to client or server.i have 2 ways of data storing one is client side in javascript variables in form of array(which can be lost on postback) the data to be stored are of differnt types some are numeric , some single characters some sepearted with comma other way is on each post back save the data in a session varibale on server & then access currently i have second way considering both the ways and in accrodance with the current flow which is best for maintenance & access speed reasking as i am notyet cleared abt the things.
View 1 RepliesI have integrated Third party advertise module in my website. their domain s "http://rotator.adjuggler.com/".they read cookie from this domain and display advertise based on cookies value. now I want to set cookies on this domain from my website.though this is not possible. they have provided url to set cookies.http://rotator.adjuggler.com/servlet/cookie?action=set&name=test&value=1&maxage=2592000we can set cookies on their doemain by calling above ur.Problem:1) we can't make xmlHttp request because this is cross-doamin link.2) we can't use jquery because it uses xmlHttp as native implementation.3) i have tried to set above url in <img src="..." > and <script src="...">. both not working.but when i paste above url in address bar it works.can anybody have idea how to call above url from Code.
View 2 RepliesI want to find URL from the incoming request is coming. I am giving the explanation below
Suppose a client is redriecting the request from www.xyz.com to www.abc.com/ClientInfo.aspx. Now www.abc.com is in the asp.net c#. Now i want to find www.xyz.com on www.abc.com/ClientInfo.aspx page.
In an asynchronous process, I need to get the name of the domain/server the web application is running on. But in that situation HttpContext.Current is not available, so I cant use HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables("SERVER_NAME").
View 7 RepliesI am developing an web application using VB.NET in which user have to confirm the email address they provide to activate the account, in short I have to send an email for activating there account. I am all set with the logic and codes, the only trouble is I just realise that i need a mail server and domain to be able to send email.
To be honest with you all i need now is something to try if the application is working and obviously for demo. I havent got any domain yet and no intention of buying one.
I want to send mail from a website using mydomain name with all the credentials need like port, domain name etc.

What is actually meant by the request and response object in asp.net?
View 1 RepliesMy web site is integrated into a client web site. Client web site reaches out to my site through an Xml request and I return Html embedded in an Xml response. Client site then displays the Html in an area on a page on their site. All is well so far...
Now, there is a link on the Html that does an HttpPost back to my site which causes a re-direct to another page on my site. i.e. [URL] -> HttpPost -> [URL]-> Response.Redirect("CookieTest.aspx"). Still, all is well. [URL]
All of the above can occur without authentication to mysite. Where I start running into problems is when CookieTest wants to do a FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(). If I put a button on CookieTest that does FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie() and then Response.Redirect("SecurePage.aspx"), still under [URL], the SecurePage does not recognize the authentication because the auth cookie is not present.
1. Navigate straight to CookieTest.aspx
So I simplfied the problem into basic cookie set/read excercise and used the code below to test out cookie writing/reading ability. When I call the page directly from the browser I see that on initial load the response cookies are empty. Then on button click I see that the cookie is properly set in the response. Then on subsequent page refresh I see that the page load shows the request cookie.
2. Navigate to CookieTest.aspx in an HttpPost from [URL], as mentioned above.
Now on button click I see the cookie in the Response but do not see it come back in the Request of subsequent page refreshes, as if the client browser is rejecting cookies set by my server.
3. Navigate straight to CookieTest.aspx, then do the HttpPost from [URL]
In this case, since the cookie was set during a straight navigation to CookieTest.aspx, the cookie is present in the subsequent HttpPost/Redirect from [URL]. CookieTest.aspx has full access to the cookie and can even delete it.
4. Have CookieTest.aspx pop a new browser window simply sets the cookie and closes itself down.
Similar to #3, if the cookie is set through a popup window and then CookieTest is refreshed the cookie is present in the Request.
Notes:
The code does prove that the client browser accepts cookies.
When my page (CookieTest.aspx) is shown within the frame on the [URl] page, during any link back to my server, the Request.Url.Host shows my domain.
