I'm using the following code to send an email verification link (from the security tutorials). How would I modify the code below so that if the user has already clicke the verification link, it will display "account already verified" and redirect them to the login page?
using System; using System.Web.Security; public partial class Verification : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(Request.QueryString["ID"])) [code].....
I am having a bit of an issue sending an email which has a link to an asp page.Please see the code below
mailbodytext = "<html><body> A new Loan Request has been created.<br />Please <a href = http://loanpooldev.tiu.teda/ViewLoanRequest.aspx?loanid= " + lblLoanidVal.Text + "> click here to process the request</a></body></html>
mailClient.Send(loanrequestmail)Loanrequestmail is defined as new mailmessage()The issue is when the email is sent the value in lblLoanidVal.text is blank even though when I debug the code I can see the correct value in that control up until the call to mailClient.send(loanrequetmail)Not sure what is wrong.
Does anyone know if its possible to log someone into a site from their verification email? I don't want to take them to the login page from their email.
I have an online job application program that the user fills out and submits the information to our database and on the last page they give there email address so that we can send them an email that has a link that is associated with the ID that's autogenerated by the sql server database when the user submits the information, when the link is clicked it verifies to the database to keep the information submitted by that user per their autogenerated ID. Below is the code that i've written to send the email I have the link setup to go to yahoo right now but I am not sure how to get this to send the autogenerated link that is associated with the ID that is autogenerated already in my sql server database.
Say on website1 there is a link to website2(asp.net)ites are unlrelated to each other, different servers and different domains.Website1 may even be php.The link on website1 is <a href='http://www.website2.com/default.aspx' >LINK to website2</a>Question: Can I in codebehind in website2/default.aspx read were the link came from, thats is determine it came from www.website1.com, when default.aspx was selected into browser?
I was curious how some of you are sending out an email to a new user, are you sending more then one email with username and link in one and then the password in another, are you sending everything in one email, are you sending an email to the new user at all?I'm curious because my web site is not a self registering web site, Only a supervisor can create a new user and then that user gets an email. I'm trying to figure out the best way to send the new user an email with their credentials to the site.the users are outside users (vendors) though their username is created by an internal employee
i have an aspx page, that takes in user data (name, number & email) after that information gets submitted to me, I need to send an email to their input email, with a message of confirmation.
I don't know much about the .Net environment, so my first idea was to just write a console app that scans the folder for new content, and then emails alerts out. Then put the .exe as a scheduled task on the server, executing every few minutes. This seems pretty archaic to me though. Is there a more elegant way to do this for my website?

smtp exeption was unhandled by user code Transaction failed. The server response was: m1pismtp01-001.prod.mesa1.secureserver.net and it highlights this code:.........
Into below code which is working fine, but the last section which started from using (SqlCommand SendMailcmd ... update it as i want when the user click on the button the code take the AdsID and (QAdsEmail "the user email") and send an e-mail to user depending on QAdsEmail and inside the email create a link to URL... so the user when he receive the mail he can click on it and move to the page to edit his Ad info ...
The table where below info will store in is called "ads" and the column that's need for sending email with ad info/the E-mail part of the code below i just copy it from another part of my application ...
I have this web application (LAN) that sends an email when users registers to one of our events.
The code is pretty straightforward:
[code]....
The application sends the email without problems. The issue is that somehow a third person is enlisted in the cc, and receives a copy of the email!. What could be the problem? The smtp? IIS?
I want to send a confirmation email to the user after they register to my website. I am using CreateUserWizard of .NET and I use C#.
My idea is after users register they get an email with a link. If they click the link, they will come to an activation page. I have done this so far:
Register.aspx:
[Code]....
[Code]....
After Guid userId = (Guid)user.ProviderUserKey;
I am very confused and not sure what to do. I understand that i need to email an url with the userID to user's email upon registration, but how to do this, and when user clicks that url in that email, how that url will automatically come to activation page?
I just wanted to ask the procedure of email verification, whats the best method. So far i have a class that stores the information from the register.aspx form, then i send out an email to the user, but what should i send him, should i send the user a guid?. Also my membership class that stores the register data is stored in a session, is this a good idea, becuase if the user session times out then the membership class will be nothing and the user will be prompted to register again in a Session Timeout webpage, is this a good method?
But what if i send the user a guid and then store the user data to the database with the guid and then check the email guid with the corresponding user guid in the database, what should i do?Also i have a Regular expression that checks that the email is valid, its not that good yet and i havent tested it properly, is there free email verification api's out there?
We want new user for the application to register. Upon initial/ temporary registration completion, we need to email them a link for verification (like all standard user based WebApplications will do).
I am planning to use CreateUserWizard control in Asp.Net, which could send an email, if the credentials are provided.
As per my knowledge,
we can send this email by providing required credentials and the SMTP server details and that is it. The link in the email will bring back client to one of confirm Registration pages with a unique Id as query string. (as we add the link in email)
My question is, can we do this verification, by sending email as above without having some Emailing Component implemented or I am missing something.
Really sorry because this is almost "send me the code" - although really it's "send me a link to another discussion"
I am setting up a .net membership system and need to validate users from the email address they provide via a "click here to validate your account" type link.
Just wondered if anyone knew of any good tutorials or posts out there about this? I have searched for about an hour and can't find anything - hence me asking the question.
