When calling Response.Cookie.Add(new HttpCookie("MyCookie", "objValue")); where does the cookie saved? on Client Machine or Server Machine?
EDIT:if saved in Client Machine, how can I read it from javascript then? I tried this kind of script.
function getCookie(c_name) {
var i, x, y, ARRcookies = document.cookie.split(";");
for (i = 0; i < ARRcookies.length; i++) {
[code].....
I cannot get the cookie that I saved from code behind. When I look into the document.cookie object, it is just an empty string.
Scenario:On Page_Init() on code behind. I create a cookie using Response.Cookie.Add(new HttpCookie("MyCookie", "cookieValue"));.
On Client side, I'm trying to read the cookie saved from code behind on page load using the snippet above, but it returns undefined

I want to ask the following:
Does anyone have an example of some code which executes an SSIS package from a ASP.NET web app using VB.NET?
I have built a web application and want to be able to execute the SSIS package when the user clicks a button on the web page.
So far I have:
[code]....
I need to know how to set this up so it runs remotely. I have searched MSDN (useless), [URL] and sqlservercentral.

Reposting my unanswered in technet.microsoft question?
MSDN "ASP.NET Delegation" article tells:
1) "When you configure to use a particular account as the process identity, ASP.NET attempts to delegate that account. If it is a local account that is identical (including password) to a local account on a remote machine, delegation is possible. If such an account does not exist on the remote machine, to the network it appears as the Windows anonymous account (NT AUTHORITYANONYMOUS LOGON). In addition, delegation is also possible if the account is a domain account that has access to the remote machine, in which case it uses the domain network identity of that account."
The same frequently repeated story as in case of manually/interactively accessing remote computer (server resource) in workgroup - it is necessary to create local account with the same username, the same password. But why?
If a workgroup Windows client process cannot access resources on server machine without having duplicate of such (local) account on target machine already pre-created,does it mean that client (process, machine, or user) can access server resources only by/after having logged (opening logon session) into server machine? Or, how to understand that such access is impossible without having corresponding duplicate local account on server machine?
The same MSDN "ASP.NET Delegation" article tells:
"NetworkService account. It behaves the same as the System account. This account possesses the network credentials associated with the machine account (domainnamemachinename) in the domain of which it is a member"
Does not any Windows have accounts ((NT AUTHORITYNETWORK SERVICE)? as well as many other common pre-built accounts? Why are they installed (before any joining to domain) but cannot be used for remote network access and client identification ? And what is identity used when the process from workgroup Windows under identity ((NT AUTHORITYNETWORK SERVICE) accesses a remote server?
My related questions:
domained LocalSystem vs. non-domained LocalSystem account in Windows-es ? how to check group membership of an "NT AUTHORITY" account ? We've deployed some reports from a server machine which can be accessed without any problems if you are logged onto the server itself by going to the URL of http://servername/ReportServer. However if we try and access the reports from a client machine (even if we use the same administrator Windows account) we get the Windows security window appear asking for a Username and Password to be entered in order to connect to the server. We've tried entering this but we then just get a blank screen after being re prompted a few times to enter the details.
Now I'm not sure whether this will be a Reporting Services or a Windows issue. Could it be a setting within IIS? It can't really be a user thing as the same user works on the server but not on the Client machine so it's more of a machine problem. It's as if there are some authentication settings somewhere that need to be set.
We are using SQL Server 2008 on Windows 7.

My scenario is that when a user clicks a link to download a file, a large file will be downloaded. But many files are zipped and to become a requested large file, files are needed to be unzipped at the server side and download it. Meanwhile unzipping the files, I wanna show to the user how many percent of files have been unzipped.
So, I save the current condition of % into the session () and it has been updated accordingly and in the other page session is called using the iframe to be seem as they are in the same page. But the problem is that,
while updating the iframe with update pannel and timmer tick event doent work and only when unzipping process has done, it works.

Using VisualWebDeveloper 2010 on the development machine. All nice and fast.Using VisualWebDeveloper 2008 on the server. Server runs on Windows Server 2008 and has IIS 7.
It looks like that when 'table', a datatabe filled up in C# code behind, is getting longer, then the server (whether running the website on IIS or on the local host of VIsualWebDeveloper2008) is really slowing down. Checked it in debug mode and traced it down to
Adapter.Update(table);
Are there any know issues? Could it be that there is incompatibility between different version of SQL server or something like that? The update works, it is just awefully slow, but only on the server.

I am new to asp.net, so this might be a basic question. But I am struggling on this for more time... I have loaded a COM object in Server script using code behind (C#) and that COM object will trigger events in some random interval. I need to update the client page whenever I receive an event from the COM object from server side (code behind).My question is, Is there a way to make the client page do postback from the code behind(C#)? ie., The client page needs to be updated whenever an event occurs in the server. Is that possible? The com event does not trigger a postback since it only occurs in the server and not in the client.

I have had a real nightmare with Server.MapPath(). When I call Server.MapPath("~") in my application that is running in ASP.NET Development Server it returns root directory that ends in a back slash like f:projectsapp1, but I call it in published version, installed in IIS, it returns root directory without any back slash like c:inetpubwwwrootapp1.
string mainRoot = HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath("~");
DirectoryInfo di = new DirectoryInfo(mainRoot);
//added to solve this problem with Server.MapPath
if (!mainRoot.EndsWith(@""))
mainRoot += @"";
FileInfo[] files = di.GetFiles("*.aspx");
foreach (FileInfo item in files)
{
string path = item.FullName.Replace(mainRoot, "~/").Replace(@"", "/");
//do more here
}

We have a requirement to allow the cient to upload multiple files which resides in a single folder, within the client computer. To do this can we allow the client to browse for the file location and select a single file (via a normal asp file uploader), and then recursively read the necessary files from the relevant directory? Is this possible or is there any other way to do this?

I have developed an application where I need to create a page to read data from Excel File and then update it to the database. The code that I wrote works only when the application runs from my machine. When I deployed the application to the server it gave an error- 'C:PRFileIimport_File.xls' is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides. here is mu code -
