I have created one website with Master and content page . I have taken TreeView Control on master page. And I wants that when I click to tree node the i can get value of tree node on content page and bind the dropdown of content page according to value of master page.

I recently added a textbox and a button to this master page which is to be a quick search box that is available anywhere in the site. When a user enters text into the search box and hits the button, I need to load the actual content page which is used to search and show search results (which also uses this same master page), and have the text entered available so the search can be triggered automatically. Again, this search text box and button is now in my master page so it could be triggered from anywhere in the app... it serves as a convenient way to do a basic search from anywhere in my app, without having to first navigate to the actual 'search page' that already exists. You can also navigate to the actual search page, which uses the same master page, where there is many more search options.I'm thrown off by the master page arrangement, which I have not used until this project. View 4 RepliesI have a master page containing a tree and 3 dropdown lists. I am populating a context menu on right click of each node, and when clicked on any item of the context menu, it navigates to required pages.
My problem is after navigating to the required page, the selected values from the drop down lists and the selected node from the tree are getting cleared.
I can set the selected values for the dropdown lists by making some properties in master page.
But how do i maintain the selected node?
In my content page, i have got the valuepath of the right clicked node.
Or is there any other way than setting the properties in master page?
I am having asp:hyperlinks in my master page, which i use as my page headers. I would just like to change the text format of the hyperlink when a content page is loaded.

I am not using any Content Place Holder or Master Page (does the error refer to the Site.Master file because while I can see it in. Solution Explorer, I never use it. All of my aspx files look like this along the top with no reference to Site.Master:

I have a master page with a form on it. It's a people search form. When the user clicks on the search button it goes to the search results page that uses the same master page. With the code below I get the info off the master of the current page. Howdo I grab that info from the first page?

I am having an issue where, on one of my pages, users seem to be leaving the page before committing all changes to the database, which results in a loss of data. So what I want to accomplish is - if the user is leaving this page and the data has not been saved yet, I want to prompt the user and say something like "The information is not yet saved, are you sure you want to leave this page" in a modal popup. So my approach is this: In my menu user control, create an event handler called MenuClicked that is raised when the menu web control's (in the user control) MenuItemClicked is raised, I raise my custom MenuClicked event. Then on my master page, I can catch this event in NavMenu_MenuClicked. My problem is - I need to catch this event in my content page, not the master? Am I approaching this correctly?

I have one master page that is used to gather information from a user. It contains asp.net labels and textboxes within a table. For example, the master page contains fields for Name , Phone, Address, etc.
There are content pages that are created to add to the information that needs to be gathered. For example, the content page, Loan Application, could ask for Loan Amount, LTV, etc.
In addition to this, certain content page forms do not need to show a particular master page field. For example, the content page may not need to ask for Phone.
The table rows are stored as public properties in the master page so I can hide them in the content page code behind.

The functionality works perfect, but I don't like how the space is reserved on the page. You can tell that a row was removed. I've tried style="border-collapse:collapse" on both the <table> and <tr> elements. I've also tried to set the row height as a public property and alter that.
