I have a WARP panel (warpNoteManager) that has a Drop down list (ddlNoteType), two WebImageButtons, (wibAdd) and (wibEdit) and a WebTextEdit (wteNoteManager).What I am doing is selecting the value from of wteNoteManager that I want to edit then click wibEdit so that the value from ddlNoteType can be loaded into wteNoteManager.

I am just starting my first MVC Web Application and have noticed that I now not only have a Web.config file in the root, but 2 sub-files, for Debug and Release configurations. I've read up a bit on what this is, in that I can put specific configurations for my different environments in each file, but I am confused as to when these seperate files are actually used.
Do I HAVE to use the built in Deployment/Publish tools within Visual Studio in order to benefit from this, or, if I set my build mode to Release, and do a simple build of my web application, then deploy the compiled files, along with the Web.config AND Web.Release.config, would that work?
I'm just not sure what deployment options I have to take advantage of these seperate config files?
I have installed VS2010 ultimate and have read with interest about the new publish options, config transformations but none of them are available. I have tried creating different release versions and cannot see the option, also have no new options for publish, just look like the VS2008 ones.
Is there some service pack or pack that i need to install these or does it sound like a reinstall?
I have a Default.aspx program that contains a Treeview with a SiteMapDataSource. I also have a web.sitemap loaded up with urls. When I run the deafult app I get the tree layout that matches the numbers of options but no text on any of the options to click.

Im using two update panels here, when i click "Button2" then "UpdatePanel2" was refreshed, if i click "Button1" then both update panel were refreshed, but my need is if i click "Button1" then "UpdatePanel1" have to be refreshed.
I was working on this last week and took a break from it to 'regroup' and start over. Here is what I'm trying to accomplish.
1. have a web form with dropdowns to allow the user to select font sizes, colors, background image, etc.
2. I want to the form to be updated with the new styles in an update panel.
3. Once the user clicks the apply button, I want the updatepanel to refresh with the new styles.
I tried this by creating an css on the fly, but the updatepanel wasn't picking up the new css without doing a full page refresh, (which we don't want to do). I only want the updatepanel refresh and either use inline styles, a <style> on the web form etc,
if i use a combo box inside an update panel, the updatepanel's partial postback will not work. instead in a postback the page refreshes whole.

This is updatepanel code. as shown in the code, i am referring to ddlClass in triggers which already calls a javascript function loadAllDefaults();
The problem is, since ddlClass is calling javascript function 'onchange' property, i cannot call any other function of backend code and I want to refresh the updatepanel on the basis of selected value of dropdownlist.
How can i do this? I have created a function in c# code in backend but I am not able to call both functions together!

View 3 RepliesI have found an odd bug in my application. I have a dropdown status which is bound to my gridview. On selecting a status from the dropdown the selectedindex then fires and binds the results to the gridview.Now the strange behaviour in firefox and not IE:If I have a dropdown open and an ajax update fires on my gridview the option is selected from the dropdown (just by hovering my mouse over it rather than selecting it) and the results bound to the gridview. This does not happen in ie as you should have to physically select an item from the dropdown rather than firefox selecting it for you because you happened to hover over an option when the update event fires.

I have a control on a page. In the control's pre-render event I'm executing some code that's taking about a minute to execute. This means the whole page is unresponsive until the control's pre-render event is finished executing.I tried putting the control inside an update panel, but it doesn't matter the rest of the page still won't render until the pre-render event of the control is finished executing. I've attached a very simple example of my code (The event that's slowing up the control's pre-render event is not Thread.Sleep(1000):

I have many controls like dropdown, radiobuttonlist, etc on my page and I put all these controls inside the update panel so that the page doesn't look to be posting back when something is selected. Now the working on the page is very smooth. But the session object isn't getting refreshed even if I postback to the server and as a result even if the users are working on the page they are being sent to the login screen after 20 mins.
Is there anyway where I could put all the controls in update panel and still refresh the session after any postback(dropdown selection)

I have a problem when I try to pass in paramaters for a report in my report viewer. I have set up the ObjectDataSource and set the paramaters for 3 text boxes that are on the page. The only way I have found to set the paramaters for the report is the user must fill in the paramaters and hit the refresh button on the Report Viewer toolbar ,but I would like to have the user click a asp.net button insted. Is there anyway to call the refresh method from codebehind?
