View 1 Replieshis function takes an li element and adds it to another ul element. After this code is fired the jquery events attached to the children spans of the li element do not fire the first time they are clicked.
View 2 Repliesi have a jquery .click() function that executes an .ajax() method call
[Code]....
when the .ajax() method executes succesfully it calls a javascript function
[Code]....
as you can see i have an .ajax() method inside my javascript function, is this possible? I am creating loop that starts on the finish listener of the soundmanager object. So when I need to make the ajax call to get he next url I need.
I know that I do not want to actually use an Ajax.ActionLink from within a JavaScript function, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to replicate the behavior. Here is what I have in my MVC 3 RC2 _Layout.cshtml:
[Code]....
I do NOT want to use:
[Code]....
Unless that can be made to populate at runtime, on demand from a script. manually clicking the ""Load Menu" ActionLink works exactly like I want except it requires the user to click the link; I want to do that for them... in this case from the Body onload event.
I have ASP.NET form where i have Implemented Ajax ValidatorCalloutExtender for Validation Purpose. So can i call a JavaScript Function from Ajax ValidatorCalloutExtender for checking Correct Data entered by the User.
View 1 RepliesWe are using asp.net ajax 1.1 (and can't upgrade to latest for internal known reasons). We are having a page where we call ScriptService method through ASP.Net ajax and oncallback of result, we bind that result to Html controls on the page. During testing we observed that this whole process is taking too much time. When we profiled using IE8 developer toolbar, we observed that there is one standard function from ASP.net Ajax frameworks' own JS. Function name is function$_validateParameterType and it is the one which takes maximum time amongs others. Is there any way we can reduce the time take by this. Is there any standard practice for such requirements.
View 1 RepliesI'm having some trouble with making use of some AJAX-properties that are normally accessable after I've initialized a scriptmanager.
ie. This work:

Now, I would like to call the javascript-function 'testFunc()' from my ASP.NET Codebehind-file, and here's my problem. I keep getting "Sys is unidentified".codebehind-stuff: ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(this, this.GetType(), "testkey", "testFunc();", true);
Does anyone have good idea how to solve this?
Much appreciated. Thanks.
I have a javascript function that is called on tab change of a tab container.From that javascript function, I call a simple page method.But though the page method does everything correctly, a failure is reported.Here is my code:

I have a project that uses PageMethods to call functions on the server. The server functions (written in C#) return the values as array of strings, without doing any kind of serialization and in the client side (from Js) the accessing of the return values is by using static variable called arguments. I found that sometimes for some users (cases are not repro) sometimes an exception occured
"WebServiceFailedException the server method 'Foo' returned invalid data. the 'd' property is missing from JSON."
Some searching on google I found that people are serializing the return values using DataContractJsonSerializer class and in js accessing the return value using one of the callback function Example:
function OnRequestComplete(result,
userContext, methodName) {
var Person = eval('(' + result + ')');
alert(Person.Forename);
alert(Person.Surname); }
So is the first technique is correct? or what?
P.S:
the function on the server is defined on the default.aspx.cs file as follows:
[System.Web.Services.WebMethodAttribute(), System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptMethodAttribute()]
public static string[] Foo(string s);
from the client side the calling is as follows
PageMethods.Foo("value",OnSuccess);
Also all the users have the same browser version (IE8)
I have a simple js function that counts down the characters in a text box, and it works in every browser EXCEPT Firefox (3.6.6). I've tried changing some syntax, but nothing has worked so far.

I want to trigger my javascript modalpopup with a function show. Is this possible?

The code which shown above where the problem is javascript have not function which the certain command trigger and involved for the outer javascript which called from the ajax's update panel web control.

View 2 RepliesWhat is wrong with this code? I am trying to pass parameters to a WCF function. I couldn't get this to work. I am getting Ajax error.
$.ajax({
url: applicationPath + "/Test.svc/GetData",
type: "POST",
dataType: "json",
data: '{GId":' + sender.get_value() + '"GName":' + sender.get_text() + '"mId":' + testId + '}',
contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8",
success: function(result)
{
//trying to fill combobox here
},
});
I am working with vs 2008 and C#. I am having a code behind function as follows(not complete)
protected void btnShowZone_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
string setofalllatsandlongs = null;
foreach (string s in ar)
{
[Code].....
</div>In thIn the click event of the btnShowZone(in bold) i am calling the code behind method and from that i am trying to call the js function using the script manager class.
But the javascript method is not getting called.the control is not going to the js function.
i have used PageMethods to access the server side functions in javascript , but now my problem is that with pagemethods your controls will not go throught the full page lifecyle and these leads me to have "Object not set for an instance of an object" error. Now can someone come with a differnt approach without using pagemethods. What i want is to call a server side function , i dont want to pass any parameters to it

What I want to do: dispose of a session upon detecting an "OnBeforeUnload" event in the client. I know it doesn't fire 100% of times (90% accuracy works fine for me)
Here I saw how to do it with ajax, this system, however, breaks down with ajax: I can't use it at all.
I have a asp.net listbox server control that is connected to a jquery plugin that can handle a client side click event for each of the checkboxes it renders.
Whenever I click on a checkbox the click event gets triggered and I make a call to
__doPostBack("UpdatePanel1", ""); so that i can update the updatepanel and rebind the checkboxlist inside it.
is it possible to do the rebind first, and then update the updatepanel? how do i do that? because now, the rebind happens on the second time i click on the checkbox.
MARKUP:.....
Scenario : I am going to access external web service [ExternalWS] using AJAX. So obviously, need to create local proxy service [LocalProxyWS] first, which in turn will access the external web service. Now, the external service webmethod [Process] basically redirects the current page on our site to their site, does some work and then return back to our site.
What I want : I want that when the user clicks the button ('Process') on our site, it should open a new window and then starts executing the request on the new window, so that I can have the page on my website to be displayed permanently (which will poll a request every 15 seconds to the external service (via local proxy) for the status).
Local Proxy service which calls external service is as follows..
[ServiceContract(Namespace = "LocalProxy")]
[AspNetCompatibilityRequirements(RequirementsMode = AspNetCompatibilityRequirementsMode.Allowed)]
public class LocalProxyToExternalService
{
[OperationContract]
public void InitiateTransaction(string amount)
Basically, I am opening a new window from the button click and then want to process the new request in that new window, so that I can show the status to the user from the current page on my website So far, it opens the new window, but doesn't transfer the request on to that, but I get an error message in firebug as follows...
I need change htmleditor height in javascript function in pageload.

function DatalistFunction(argumentid) {
set_minimum_points_for_session = value;
SetSession(set_minimum_points_for_session);
Redeem(argumentid);
}
this is my code which i am calling on link button onclientclick event.
sometimes what happens is redeem function gets called first and then setsession function gets called. do i need to put some delay or something between the 2 functions, so that they run everytime in their own order
