I am retrieving list of projects and project IDs using autocompleteextender. Is it possible to restrict the user to type further if the input doesn't retrieve any value from database. Though, I have found a solution by calling function through OnClientPopulated. But this function calls back the webservice "GetCompletionList" method. I don't want to recall one method two times. is there any other way?

i am using the function history.go(-1) function on my button to go back. but i am getting a prob in value selected in dropdown.
the sourceview is showing the original value selected but on UI its showing the previous value
means when i click on back button,
UI shows the same value but when i view the source code then the selected value is the same that need to be appear
for example
suppose my dropdown has data in format MM/YYYY first i select 02/2010 and then after that i select 04/2010 now when i click on back button having onclick ="history.go(-1)"
then the value in dropdown remains the same i.e 04/2010 but when i see the source code, then for dropdown the selected value shows as 02/2010.

I have the following control:
<asp:TextBox ID="textbox1" runat="server" Width="95px" MaxLength="6" />
which i would like to be hidden/invisible on page load, and have the textbox appear after clicking a button/running some javascript without reloading the page.
Here's my current button:
<asp:Button ID="cmdShowBox" runat="server" Text="Show Button" onclick="showBox(); return false" />
and lastly here's my current javascript function:
[code]....
I was starting with just showing the box on load, then trying to click a button to make it hide, but I can't even get that to work :( When I run the code as it is above I get a server error which says
Compiler Error Message: BC30451: Name 'textbox1' is not declared.

i'm a quite new in Ajax technologie.The feature of the MaskedEditExtender and its -validator is very helpful. But i have some problem with it.If i try to make a textbox with MasekdEditExtender for time input, so i can give a invalid time e.g. 25:60 and there is no error message of validator.So, how can i avoid inputs like 25:60? As we know the time can take values between 00:00 and 23:59.

Since I'm new to coding and I'm trying to understand why here is a little more detail on the question.If you have a text box and you are limiting the input to say 2 charactrs do you really need to validate the input further? What I have is a text box that has a max length of 2. Is there a security reason to add a validator to the textbox. I should add this is in Asp.net.
