I am trying to integrate an existing SSRS report in asp.net. 1. created the report and deployed it. 2. In the web page, have a reportviewer and trying to attach the same report. Should I copy over the rdl file to the report server?

So i want to convert this html page to master page and then add a content placeholder and display dynamic data from db using a gridview within this page.
Is there any way that i can convert or reference this html page as the master page in ASP .net ?
I want to show a "Custom error page" when i type a non-existing .aspx or .html page in my application. I had followed the same steps in the link [URL] for the HTML pages also but it is working for .aspx pages but not working for .html pages if I enter any non-existing pages. I had added the path of "aspnet_isapi.dll" for the .html extension in the IIS. I also ensured that the check box "Verify file exists" is unchecked while adding the ".html" entry in the "configuration" of the "Home directory" of the website in the IIS but still it is not working.

I have a javascript function on my Master page, how do I access it with a dropdownlist of a content page. Not from codebehind, I can do that, but from the control itself such as the onSelectedIndexChanged event.
View 11 RepliesHaving a very strange problem and just wondered if anyone could shed some light on it. I have a page that takes a file and posts it (using a flash control) to another page on the same site. Now this other paged is used simply to take the file from the request and save it to disk. However when i try and set a session value there the calling page can not access this session variable (no matter how long i do a thread.sleep. It is simply nit finding the variable.
When i looked deeper into this I ran trace.axd and much to my surprise the page that is called does not show up in the list. But it is defnitely being called as the file that the original page sent has been saved to disk.
What is the best way to call an altenative css page if the browser is IE on a content page (re master/content)?

In CompanyMaster ihave a gridview (listing all companyBranches) with select,Update,Delete button on it.On clicking select of anyone row in gridview ,it should redirect to CompanyBranchMaster page and there is a funciton in it dbSelectGrid to show the details of that Branch in form.
CompanyBranchMaster page contains a form with all the required fields and gridview and its funcitons.
My Question is if user clicks on grid of CM then it can be redirected to CBM with Response.Redirect.But how to call the function dbSelectGrid of CBMs page.

I have a method in a separate class which returns a string. This string actually has a HTML in it (Head, body, etc). I am retreiving this string in one of the method in my code behind and I want this html to merge into the current existing HTML and display the contents on the returned string (HTML) in the current page creating a new div or some other good method. If some one has any idea related to this, please help. Ask for any further information in case you need to get a clear understanding.
Somehow I need to hide a control on an EXISTING WEB PAGE.But the problem is, this control has code behind with VB.NET which I don't know how to read.. :( (I use C#)And this web page works as like an 'organic'. Controls are connected to all over other pages .This is the part to be not shown:

I added Visible="false", BUT IT STILL SHOWS :( guessing visible="false" is ignored :(
Next I tried to delete that control from aspx page and commented out the codebehind function.THIS WORKED, but gave an error at the bottom of the page (yellow triangle error)...This is really hard for me because I am modifying a page which I did not write, nor the code is C# .
I've more than 12 pages without any master pages applied to them. these pages have heavy javascripting and loads of controls on them. now i require to add these pages under a master page. how can i achieve this with minimal of effort?

I have a parent page with two data controls. I want to be able to open a child window, do something on it, and when it closes I want to rebind only one of the two data controls on the parent page. I have the control I want to update within an UpdatePanel so would like to call rebind it and call UpdatePanel.Update().

I have a ShoppingCart UserControl on MasterPage. I have a following functionality: User adds item to the cart. after clicking the button "Complete Sale" in UserControl the page is redirected to "CustomerInfo.aspx" and after filling the Customer information and clicking on submit which is on CustomerInfo.aspx page i want to call the "Complete Sale" click event of UserControl from "Customerinfo.aspx" page.

I have a site with a master page, Site.master. Many of Site.master's content pages have the same button that functions the same way on each page:

Is it possible to write btn_Click once in Site.master's CodeFile and have it called in the OnClick attribute of each content page's button? I'm trying to avoid adding the same function (or anything at all) to each content page's CodeFile.
I have written web methods in code behind and I'm able to call them using PageMethods.(method name) in an ordinary aspx page.
If I'm trying to call the webmethods in a master page using PageMethods.(method name), it is throwing a jscript error pagemethods is undefined.

I have a handler CsvExport.ashx that resides in the root of my web application, the problem is it is called from a javascript include so I can't use ~/ how can i have it so that any call to a file name CsvExport.ashx in in folder in the web application get sent to the proper file?

This database is available as a JSON string to external websites, however, since it's a lot of data, the external websites cache this data locally.I want to be able to ping the external websites to let them know the data has changed so they can referesh their cache. I figure I can setup an ASHX handler that receives a parameter telling them what data has changed, so they can both delete that data and refresh it.The only part I'm not sure about is the best way to call this external page from my admin page. Do I just do a regular WebRequest and discard the result? or is there a simpler way to call a page from code when you don't need the response?
