I am tring to send form values to a page from a user control. I included the user control in a master page.When i use page.previouspage it can not get value. is there any way to send form data to a page from a user control included in a master page?

I have a FileUpload control in the Source page. On the Upload button handler, I read the file into memory (after doing some validations) and since it's always going to be a TXT file, I create a string that I need to pass to the Destination page. I thought of using Cross Page postback and set the PostBackUrl property of the upload button. But it appears that the breakpoint in the Upload button handler is never hit. It directly goes to the Page_Load in the Destination page. If I can't use Cross Page postback and don't want to use Session or the database, how do I pass this string from Source page to the Destination page?

In other situations I have passed such values in the query string and then assigned them to the parameter collection, no problem.Also, please note, I have tried using the @PreviousPageType directive to get at the types on page1, but have met with no success there either.

I want to get the value of the label from web user control to a default.aspx page.
I want to do something similar to what happens when you click an asp.net button that has a PostBackURL set. I've tried Server.Transfer but the URL doesn't change (which is something I want). Is there a better way to do this, or alternatively is there a way to make Server.Transfer display the correct URL?
View 2 RepliesWhat i am trying to do here is to show a couple of validation messages in form of a bulletlist, so i have a Div on my master page containing a asp:bulletlist. Like this:

When i then click the Save button from any of my pages (inside the main contentPlaceHolder) i create a list of messages and give this list as datasouce like this:
blstValidationErrorMessage.DataSource = validationMessageCollection;

The save button is located inside an updatepanel:

Nothing happens, i can see that the datasource of the bulletlist contains X items, the problems must arise because the Save button is inside an update panel and the elements outside this updatepanel (master page controls for example) is not refreshed.
So my question is, how do i make the bulletlist refresh after the postback?

I'm getting the 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object.' error on PreviousPage after using PostBackUrl.I created a simple test page to recreate the problem, however it worked fine, until I moved the source and destination pages into different folders. I have looked everywhere for how to do this and all I come up with is threads describing how to expose public properties. I have a USER CONTROL in my Master page. It is a search box with a text box and a dropdown for search type (last name, account number, etc) and a search button. When the user clicks the search button, I open a new page that displays the results. How do I pass the values from the USER CONTROL search fields to the new page? I would post code, but I have nothing to post yet since I don't know where to start. I have tried exposing the public property of the user control, but I don't know how to retrieve those values on the results page.

I have a public method named PerformDragAndDrop inside the MasterPage and I want to call this method from the userControls's code behind.
Does anyone know how I would go about calling a method found in the master page code behind from a user control's code? The user control is on the master page. The method I want to call is public.
I can easily call a method found in the pages code behind using:
Page.GetType().InvokeMember("TheMethodsName", System.Reflection.BindingFlags.InvokeMethod, null, this.Page, null);
or I can call a method found on the master page from my aspx page code behind using:
((MasterPage_MasterPage)Page.Master).TheMethodsName();
But I am stuck because I can't find the MasterPage in my user control code behind.
