May 16, 2010I have a label inside an update panel which I wouldl ike to use as a status bar.
Basically the user clicks a button which executes a main fucntion that performs a series of tasks. I'd like to inform the user as to the state of the function as it progresses e.g.:
Stage 1: Retrieving data...
Stage 2: Calculating values...
Stage 3: Printing values...
Stage 4: Done!
I've tried updating the updatepanel directly from the function but it only updates the panel at the end of function (stage 4) and shows "Done!" (which I understand is how it should work).

The pages have sub-pages and these sub-pages again have sub-pages.So thats three levels of hierarchal data presented.Right now its populated using asp:Treeview for easier display of the +(maximise) and -(minimise) images and all.Is that the best method?

When i try to create a new model object, the time field gets displayed as "00:00:00" im my model (00 is the initial values) instead of "00:00". Is there something i am doing wrong? Note that the same approach works for date fileds, where i want to be displayed as "dd/MM/yyyy" (for this is assign "{0:dd/MM/yyyy}" to the display format attribute).

Apr 27, 2010I have a text box with a custom validator, compare field validator. I have a problem with the error message display.
my compare field validator works normally....ie; when I enter a wrong value it gives me the error message and when I correct it the error message disappears.but this does not happen with my custom validator......I do not undersatnd the reason..I tried to run an example downloaded from some site and that example works as required..I tried to implement a similar logic but still the error message does not disappear..

Mar 10, 2011I recently updated my FreeTextBox to version 3.3.1. The primary reasons for my update was the previous version I used did not work in Chrome and I have upgraded all of my client's sites to .net 4.
The latest version works fine in Chrome. In Internet Explorer 8, the textbox display area is presented as a vertical scrollbar about 10 pixels wide in the middle of the box. The text is not able to be viewed, edited or modified in any way.
I have searched and found many other posts in many places about problems with FTB in IE8. Those mostly reference the IE8 Beta. do not suggest a link or search in the FTB forums. I also attempted to post in the FTB forums as I have been registered there for years. With the new forum, I have tried to recover my password numerous times, I never receive the email. I have attempted to register numerous times. Each attempt at a new registration says that my email address is already used.I am slow to believe I am the only one that is experiencing this issue.

Feb 18, 2010i have 2 servers one is a 2003 and one is 2008R1. I no longer use 2003 but still do testing on it, my issue is:Have asp files that list a directory on my web page for users to download files and it works great in 2003. But when i try it on 2008 (i can download txt) but i cannot download anything else I get a "cannot not display web page". I'm not sure if its a security issue on the server, the only difference is i have the wwwroot on the D: in 2008 and on the C: on 2003. Again i can download txt files but nothing else(on 2008R1).
