May 7, 2015 after i can copy my file to another folder i realised that if this webapplication is used by multiple users at once, then some users are going to get locked out because each one is trying to copy those files.
so how do i tell the user thats trying to use a file to wait untill the file is available.

Display Asp MSChart / File Error Could Not Load File Or Assembly 'sstchur.web.survey'?
Dec 17, 2010I've add MSChart to a webpage and I'm also using a Survey page I got from 4GuysFromRolla (http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/articles/061604-1.aspx). Both work on my development machine but when I move them to my hosting site there are issues.
With MSChart page the chart is not displayed although it's included the Page Source code:

And when I try to open the Survey page I get this:Parser Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'sstchur.web.survey' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

The Hosting site is using Version 4.0 and the dll needed for the survey is in the BIN directory.
When I moved my files to the hosting site I had to change every instance when I referred to a file from:
"~/FileName"
To
"FileName"
I've tried all of the "fixes" I could find for the MSChart that involved changes to the web.config file but because of the error messages associated with the Survey page I'm guessing this is the issue.

It's very easy; using streamReader to read the file and setting the email.body to the result.

Jan 25, 2010I have a set of doc files with respect to the data in the sql. Now I have to C# code, so that when the column in the gridview is clicked then the respective name must appear ina linklabel in the windows form nad that label must be linked to the respective file. For eg:
name bacteria author citation
aaa myxo sri 12-333-3
vvv mmm xxx 1112-2-2
the values unser sitation must come to the linklabel and that must direct to the respective word files with the names 12-333-3,1112-2-2. Is it possible to do this some how as this is only one example I have many files as such. Is one label enough to perform the necessary action updating itself when I clicked the different columns in the datagrid view as I already did some coding recording linking each column value to a textbox.

When a button on a page is clicked I want the user to be taken to a page..called download.aspx, the whole page is displayed with information
like "your download is starting..." and then the file is presented to be download.
What I did.
In my main page on the button click event...I do a Response.Redirect("download.aspx"); and in the download.aspx page
load event I present a Response.TransmitFile("myfile.exe");
This doesnt work because the download.aspx is NOT rendered untill the whole download is finished.

On the page that you have that ability to add items, i also have a label that displays the number of items.. Now that we are going to go live with this, thay have moved the count to the menu, but the menu is within the Site.Master file, so its not being populated. But it works fine on the page where you can add items..
So what can i do to accomplish the task of displaying the total number from my master file, right now you can only see the accurate number on the page you add to cart.. once you select another page, you dont have it anymore..
This is within my event for the "Add to Cart" button, this works, because the label is on this page. But now the label is within the master file and even though the below works, the number doesnt update on the menu .

Oct 18, 2010In my Visual Studio 2008 web site, I created a new folder named Reporting. Then one of my web pages creates an xml file in this new folder when the user clicks a button. The user then clicks another button and the xml file displays in the browser. This all works fine on my development PC. But if I publish this web site to my production server, it does not work. I get an error when I click the first button to create my xml file. The error reads: Could not find part of the path 'c:windowssystem32inetsrvReportingabc.xml' What must I do so that this works on my development PC and also my production server?

I have tested the above time after time and each double click event registers correctly and the string containing the script (TempString) populates correctly, at least so it appears to me, but the new window is not displayed.
