I want to embed video/audio files using Object tag, the above code works fine in IE with controller but in firefox it plays the video but controller doesn't shop up?
does any one have html code snippet which works in all browsers for all audio/ video mime types?
I want to show video in my page but i don't know how to do it? i want to save embed code of video from you tube in my access DB , and show the video on btn_click.
I am trying to play a video file in an aspx page. the video resides in the database.
I am using handler file (ashx) for that, and using the ashx file as src value of embed tag in the aspx page.
[Code]...
it works if I use media player activex ( object tag) . but it does not work for FF. I think embed tag is most standard. so i am trying to use it for streaming video.
i want to embed avi video ,but i don't like the window media player. I like the one like cnn or youtube where it doesn't show all button (play, previous, next...).
The following code works well as long as I pass a querystring value to the datalist.
Private Sub BindGrid() Dim id As Integer = Integer.Parse(Context.Request.QueryString("id")) Dim strConnString As String = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("Conn").ConnectionString Using con As New SqlConnection(strConnString) Using cmd As New SqlCommand() cmd.CommandText = "select Id, Name from tblFiles where Id=@Id"
[Code] ......
However, the page errors with the message "Value cannot be null." if I don't pass a value. I know that DataList does not have an EmptyItem Property like a Gridview control. I do not want the page to error if I don't pass a value. Need info to deal with empty values in a datalist.
Most websites have pointed me to this code to use:
The 'list' throws an error. The error is "Too few type arguments to 'System.COllections.Generic.List". I am not sure if the code is written in C# and that is what is causing the error. It seems that it should work but I can not figure out the 'list' error.
I have a requirement whereby I need to be able to change the controller being used based upon a parameter. I am creating an application that needs to be dynamic enough to be able to change controllers on the fly. Let me explain further;
When the application starts a dictionary of custom controller names is loaded with a controller name as the key and a custom controller name as the value. This will be help in the application scope.
When a request is made I need to access the requested controller name, use that name and check to see if it matches a key in my controller dictionary and if so, replace the requested controller name with the custom controller name from the dictionary.
example;
My dictionary will contain data as follows Key: 'Home', Value: 'Home_IN' Key: 'Customer', Value: 'Customer_BE'
Now, the following request is made 'User/Edit/1'. Does the controller name exist in the dictionary? No, continue with original request.
Now, the following request is made 'Home/Details/2'. Does the controller name exist in the dictionary? Yes, replace the original controller name 'Home' withe custom controller name 'Home_IN' so changing the requested URL to be 'Home_IN/Details/2'.
Does this make sense?
My problem here is knowing exactly where in the request cycle I need to do this?
I am assuming I need to create my own custom controller factory?
In the following code, I need to modify the Handler so that the records or results that display are based on a QueryString value. Currently all of the records in the table display on the page but I want records to display based on the passing a querystring value based on the field, id. I have tried to alter the code without much success.
Public Class FileVB : Implements IHttpHandler
Public Sub ProcessRequest(ByVal context As HttpContext) Implements IHttpHandler.ProcessRequest Dim id As Integer = Integer.Parse(context.Request.QueryString("id")) Dim bytes As Byte() Dim contentType As String Dim strConnString As String = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("fitnesConnectionString").ConnectionString Dim name As String Using con As New SqlConnection(strConnString) Using cmd As New SqlCommand()
I am tring to create custom server control using VB.net. I update the AssemblyInfo.vb file to write down webresource, path is also correct. But whn i render the control in web site and try to call JS function which define in cnotrol's JS, it gives me error for Undefine.
i m using embed tag for displaying video file.i want to change file in src attribute of embed tag runtime when i click on button.how can i access embed tag in my .cs file .
I am using flow player for my online tutorial site, which passes values dynamically. i.e. i am passing course id values, each id values having separate videos. Here is my code:
Does anyone know of a way to embed a web browser within a web page, e.g. through a Java applet or similar mechanism? I have reviewed the discussion on various solutions for embedding a browser in a Java application. However, this will not work for our web-based tool, which is built on an asp.net framework. Using a Java applet is our current idea, but if you have other suggestions to address this issue This is to be used in a web-based tool that guides middle school, high school, and college students to read websites critically. The tool provides a set of guiding questions and other information along with a data-entry box surrounding the actual 3rd party web-page being viewed. The purpose of our tool is to allow teachers to choose websites for students to view and analyze - or allow students to choose the sites themselves. We (/the tool) do not control what sites or types of media are chosen.
We are currently loading the web-page in an IFrame, but that technique is limited in several ways. It does not provide full control for browser-like features we would like to provide, and is very sensitive to changes in both third party web-sites and to browser versions used by students. The most difficult issue we have pertains to anti-hijacking mechanisms used on the third-party sites. For good reasons, they use mechanisms that make them impossible to load into an iFrame -- that is, when you try to load the page into the iFrame, it will take over the entire browser window. Not only will the page not load WITHIN our frame, it will actually make our application "disappear", thereby making it impossible for students to use these sites within our tool, and potentially also causing students to lose their work.
I am developing a web app. My users want to be able to design their own reports. Is there a way I can embed a simple Report Designer in my app? If so, which Report Designer app should I use? The Report Designer should be an existing app. I don't want to create a Report Designer from scratch. More details: My app is an ASP.NET MVC application. But I can use Java based solutions too, using IKVM.
I'm serving up PDFs from a SQL db and presenting them in the browser. I'm trying to figure out a way to embed a number in the PDF dynamically so that the recordID for that PDFs SQL record is available to me when the user submits the XML form data. The user hits the submit button on the form and the form submits its XML data to my submission page. If there is some way of changing the submission URL on the fly then I could do a query string to pass my self the recordID. I'm not generating the PDF in code, its being created by hand and then uploaded to my site.EditUser is given a link someServer.com/pdfLink.aspx?formID=5 they go there and that pages pulls a PDF from the DB and displays it. This pulls up acrobat in browser full size so my aspx page isn't in control of submitting the completed form, Acrobat is. The user fills out the form and hits the submit button in the form. This submit button was set up at form design time to point to another page someSite.com/pdfSubmit.aspx The submit button posts the XML data to that page and I can process it. I need the recordID in the query string for the someSite.com/pdfSubmit.aspx page. To do this I would need to modify the PDF to either add the recordID and query string to the submit button's submit URL, or embed it in the PDF else ware. The big question is how do I modify the PDF just before I display it via someServer.com/pdfLink.aspx?formID=5 to do either of these two options.
I would like also to know the way to have an embedded video in my site that will not have the play buttons and play again and again. Is there a way to do that??
In my asp.net+vb web with access database there is a page which displays data as per query string and the string is PNO and all data is correctly displayed in gridview and dataview. there is a Image1.ImageUrl and i used the following code but it is not working
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Dim PNO As String PNO = Request.QueryString("PNO") Image1.ImageUrl = "C:/wing/Photos/" + PNO + ".jpg" End Sub
