Sep 8, 2010I'm trying to display images in a GridView (yes, still this...). [edit] Before I can come to that I have to upload some images to the database.
I've followed this tutorial for the "upload image to database" code (this worked fine for uploading images, but I don't know if the images were converted to byte):

and I've followed this tutorial for the "display images in gridview" code (and "retrieve file" from the tutorial below).

It doesn't quite work, the GridView shows but without images
Now I'm trying to change the "save file" code according to this tutorial:

Aug 26, 2010I'm programatically looking ito a .aspx file and getting the file class name declared in its CodeBehind. For example, when analyzing myFile.aspx I read in its Page Directive and found its CodeBehind equals "myApplicationmyPage.aspx.vb". Then I use the code

Now I want to read the BaseFile (class = myApplication.Forms.BasePage). However, to read in this file, I need I need to get its full path instead of its namespace.class hiearchy. In this case, the BasePage is wrapped in a different namespace declaration thus I cannot just change the '.' to '' in order to get the path.How can I get the path of BasePage so I can read it?

Apr 26, 2010I am getting the access denied error while trying to delete file using the file.delete() method even though i have set permitted full control to NETWORK SERVICES user and IUSER_(user_name) and ASP.NET Machine Account users on the folder that contains the file to be deleted.
My page also allows files to be uploaded(to the same folder) and that part works perfectly fine but I get this UnauthorisedAccessException when I try to delete it at app runtime...pls do help me out folks..cant believe this error has taken my whole day..

Obviously this doesn't work since TransmitFile requires that the file be on your physical path, so how do i do this? Someone said you must use the stream method. Do you have any sample code I could try? I've tried the HTTPStreamReader object but it's giving me issues, so I would love to find out if there is anyway this might work. Now here's some more important information: this are HUGE video files.. we are creating a downloads page... written in asp.net -- so you create an account using the .net membership class, then you select the file you want, go through a form where you enter your billing info and then after you pay a certain fee (this is already implemented), you go to your "downlaods" area in your account... there you have access to the files......... the reason i'm doing this is because i want to hide the download link, which will be something likehttp://myOTHERserver.com/2340987sdfkjhalsdlkjh23 ... (something really crazy)....... we don't want people seeing this on the status bar (Therefore hiding the download link is ESSENTIAL)........ the files are a good 500MB each approximately; so i would love to hear all of your suggestions as to making the streamreader work for me and how long would it take for the streamreader to READ the file........

Is there a way to programmatically specify which account to use accessing the shared folder? We do not like to use machine accounts as this may change if we switch servers etc.

Nov 23, 2010I'm not able to open the file when I click on the link on page in MVC. I get the following message. I've added the impersonation in the code. I'm able to delete and save the file.

VS 2005 Sql Or Access DataSource - Can't Find File?
Jan 22, 2010when trying to setup either sql or access DataSource control or Add- Connection in server explorer, i get the error 'the system cannot find the file specified' for my main user acct, its an admin for another admin acct going for same db, it works fine! in the past the 'cannot find file' error has sometimes turned out to be a permissions problem, but shouldn't be with 2 admin accounts. this is a .mdb and i can run access2003 no problem.i've checked the machine.config file for a bunch of suggestions on posts and even some registry keys, so far all checks out. evidently vs2005 has unique settings for each user, eg. i had to turn on line numbering for 2nd user. somehow i messed up my vs2005 settings for the problem user? or some registry key?

If the given shared path exists in the same machine then the PDF File is created and stored in the shared path.
If the Shared path exists in the other shared network System then the PDF is not created and not stored in the shared path.

Apr 26, 2010I have an Asp.net app that simply reads an xml file and this code used to work fine on Vista with VS2008, now I just moved to Windows 7 and I migrated the code to VS2010, I encoutered "Access to the path [path to my webapp folder] is denied". Nothing else is changed, I tried to change folder perms even though I didn't think it got anything to do with that since the same code used to work fine, but still didn't get around this problem. Could someone shed some light on why this may be happening and how to fix it?
