I have a gridview connected to a sql database that allows the user to delete the record. I used the ASP.net automatic "options" for this. However, I would like when the user deletes a record, a message (textbox) appears in the form to say the record has been deleted.

Before it redirects, I have to show a popup messagebox informing the clients that the data has been saved. The popup box will have a "OK" button. Now I must run cmdSave_Click() before the cmdConfirm.Attributes.Add even though both is for same button anyway. I know that client side script will try to run first but I must run the cmdSave_Click event first to save the data. Aftre that cmdConfirm.Attributes will send the Name to the next page using a Javascript function where the stored values(stored using cmdSave_Click) will be used. I have no other choice. I cannot run the Javascript function first as it will happen before the data is stored. And also I cannot use another page as all has to be performed in one page so that user will not have to click Save twice. Can anyone tell me How I can delay the cmdConfirm.Attributes.Add until the cmdSave_Click is performed.
i have a buton with some button1_click event code. as is it works just fine, however when i add client side script, essentially a confirm with yes/no this code is not executed. how do i work around this i am using ajax i want to keep UseSubmitBehaviour to false. I am very new at this so there is a very good chance i am missing something.

I am using ASP.NET 2.0 with C#(No AJAX) in my project. In a particular web page, when the a button is clicked, some server intensive processing occurs before the same page is displayed again with the results. While code execution happens on the server in response to Button_Click event, a blank white page is shown to user on his browser in between post backs.
How do i show a message in this case, that the processing is still going on and ask the user to wait.
I have used javascript to show a message on page unload. But this message is also erased when the page is posted back to the server and the user sees a blank white page on his browser. How do i avoid this white page? Is there a way to show a message in the blank white page ?

My web form contains a postback button. The button will postback and call a server-side method. The method will process something that may spend about 20 seconds. However, user may try to click the button several times within the waiting period. The sequential clicking may cause the first running method incomplete and stop, since the second click postback will dominate the method and start again. How can I solve it?
PS: It can not use client side script to disable the button, because it requires to use some server-side validation within the method.
On my Search page, I have a search textbox, four drop-down lists and a "Search" button. If I use only the drop-down lists and click the "Search" button, results are immediately returned.
