- If a try-catch block is used, should the closures be done in the Finally section? Or in the main Try section?

Regex: Match Opening / Closing Chars With Spaces?
Mar 18, 2010I'm trying to complete a regular expression that will pull out matches based on their opening and closing characters, the closest I've gotten is
^([[)[a-zA-Z.-_]+(]])
Which will match a string such as "[[word1]]" and bring me back all the matches if there is more than one, The problem is I want it to pick up matchs where there may be a space in so for example "[[word1 word2]]", now this will work if I add a space into my pattern above however this pops up a problem that it will only get one match for my entire string so for example if I have a string
"Hi [[Title]] [[Name]] [[surname]], How are you"
then the match will be "[[Title]] [[Name]] [[surname]]" rather than 3 matches "[[Title]]", "[[Name]]", "[[surname]]". I'm sure I'm just a char or two away in the Regex but I'm stuck, How can I make it return the 3 matches.

Feb 3, 2010I know I've seen this in one of the video tutorials but I have no idea which one and I have reinstalled VS since then. I think it was Chris Pels that showed how to set up VS so that you had IntelliSense for XML files. The reason I ask is because I'm going through the Security tutorials series and working on the web.config file and the editor doesn't highlight the closing or opening tag when you click on one or the other like it does for HTML or C#.
Not sure if I'm explaining this clearly or not. When working with HTML or C# I can click on the opening tag for an element, say a div tag and VS will bold the type of the closing div tag. This makes it easy to be sure that I'm not messing up my tags. Well this doesn't happen with an XML document. I saw in one of the videos where the author configured the settings in VS so that IntelliSense would work in an XML document. I just don't remember the path to those settings or what changes were made.

Visual Studio :: Opening A Project Across 2 Computers Running The Exact Same 2008
Feb 11, 2011The problem is I have a laptop that I take to University with me to all my lessons and lectures and it has Visual Studio 2008 installed on it and I work on my assignments in Visual Studio just fine. However when I get home I would like to use my desktop PC which has the exact same copy even from the very same disk of Visual Studio 2008 that is installed on my laptop. The problem is no matter what I do I can't open and work with any projects that I have created on my laptop.
Now if I create the project on my desktop PC it will open just fine on my laptop and I can continue to work with the project but the minute I save and take that project over to my desktop I get the self same error message shown below. [URL] I did do a little research and I found what looked like a solution for some people and that was to change the "SQL Server Instance Name" to SQL2008. As shown below it was set to SQLEXPRESS which is the same as what it says on my laptop copy. [URL] But all this did was present me with a new message as shown below. [URL] Uploaded with [URL] I'm completely at a loss as to what the issue is. Both my laptop and desktop run a fully updated copy of Windows 7 64Bit and have the same copy from the same CD of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.

Now my problem is when ever the pop-up window opens, the parent page loses its focus and goes to top of the page(I guess this is beacuse the page is posting back when the button is clicked).But I could set the foucs again when I am closing the pop-up window by using

in the pop-up page's javascript.

In my asp.net page, there is a parameter screen which while running opns the reporting services report in asp.net page as pageA.aspx Now, whenever, I again change the parameters on the parameter page and click the run button, if pageA.aspx is already opened, it just refreshes that page but the page doesn't generate new results ( caused by the change in parameters). I want to close that page (pageA.aspx) before generating the same page with other values (caused by the change in parameters in parameter page). I want this function in page_load() function of the param page.

Dec 20, 2010Searched and couldn't find anything. I'm wrtiting an intranet application, and it creates links to see the original PO or Order for a given order number. Problem is that some of these orders were never put into the system electronically, so you get an error 400, no such page. Is there some way to programatically 'test' a link before sending the user to this error message?

I don't get any errors, it just comes up blank.
I also noticed that it seems to bypass forms authentication. For example, even though the page I open is blank, it is the actual page name that shows up in the browzer instead of the page that it usually redirects to for the forms authentication.
