Dec 17, 2010I am working on a financial portal and I am having a problem..I don;t know what to call it so i mentioned it as an 'unknown to me' problem..I have a webpage..whenever I click on any button on my webpage, the request goes through..but nothing show up on the webpage..then If I click on another link and then again come back to previous link,then only I see the results of button_click..
e.g.
I have a currency conversion and investment form..so after filling up the form in following way and if I click on "INVEST" then nothing shows up..
so now if i click on any other link and go back to 'buy currency' link I see the result as 'investment successful'

Mar 23, 2010I would like to allow users to call my ruby on rails app as a service which returns a 'div' with html content in it, and embed that div into their app (which will not be a rails application).
For example, assume someone has their own php website that has a header/footer template that gets rendered, and a content area of the page that they need to fill based on some html I generate in my rails app. I would like to allow them, from php, to call to my website, get the 'div' I generate, and embed that as html in their php page.
What I'm trying to do is host a service on my site that returns some html content, but actually show that content as part of another site, so that the end user only sees the other site and never really knows about mine.
Also, I can use javascript on the client to do this if that is the only way, but I would prefer the php app to handle this at the server if possible so the client gets the html embedded from the original server and it looks like it all was generated by the php script that generated the entire page. I also want to avoid using an iframe.

Web Forms :: Trying To Import From Excel File
Oct 7, 2010I have been trying to import from an Excel file and insert it into a table. I can upload the Excel file. I can view the Excel file in a grid But when I run the import process to insert the rows in the Excel file I get only one row and it has all nulls except the dateentered and entered by field. I added breakpoints and tried setting a couple of the fields to labels and I could see that data was getting to the reader.

Apr 26, 2010I have got a master page of a website which picks up the content given by the user and displays it on their side(server) when the user saves it. Basically I give the project in a general format to them and they edit this master page and give the content to their website in whatever way they want. In my workstation I can import the data without problems and I have Office 2010 installed. In the server I have installed AccessDatabaseEngine for Office 2010 and when I try to import the data I receive the following error: The external table is not in the expected format. Rememberring I'm import the data to the same database. But when I break this excel file in files with less rows, it imports without problems.

Aug 19, 2010I have a BasePage class that all of my content pages inherit from. In my BasePage, I have many Import Statements. It seems as though they carry over into the derived class as one would expect. However, if you were to try and access code in the client aspx design page, as you would in the code-behind, you run into problems.
For instance, in my BasePage i have a Public Enum named ThemedSites. It's just an enumerator that lists the 5 different themes my site could be skinned as. I, at times, need to do different things in code, and in design, depending on what theme I'm currently in. I have a Public Property named CurrentSite (might have been more appropriate to say CurrentTheme, but that's besides the point). CurrentSite's return type is ThemedSites. So in code, one would say something like:

This works great in any page that inherits the BasePage class. This falters when that very same logic is used in the design page like:
[Code]....
Now, it works if you fully qualify both sides of the condition, but that's not my question. My question is: why isn't the Imported NameSpace in the BasePage recognized in the client-side server tag, as one would think it would be, according to how it IS recognized in the server-side code-behind?
Web Forms :: CSV Import / Export Upload And Validation
Oct 12, 2010Some time back i posted for help in uploading CSV file to DB. With the assistance of other members, i was able to set that up on a test page and got the functionality working.. Now project is coming to the end and need to take that code / logic and incorporate with our application. On certain forms, we need to allow the user to export / import via a CSV file.. So this question is muti part for each function.
#1 Export = Since each form is unique, how can i setup the page to export that forms data that is currently in the DB? (I've used this control before [URL] and worked great) for excel. This may work fine for exporting the data out of the db for the user.
#2 Import, if the above is used or some other solution to export the specific table data, is there anyway to validate that the csv file that is being uploaded contains all the columns and is in the correct order? I mean if they were to export the data, but come back few days later to import it, and didnt realize that they selected a csv for another page or maybe they picked the right file, but while editing it they removed a comma or entered some data that would throw the format out of wack.. just looking for a way to read the selected file to import and compare to the table it is suppose to go into and make sure that the columns match and if possible, check for duplicates. I have read thru the forum and found ways to read the file into memory, set the data to a datatable or dataset and working with it that way.
So really looking for some good examples of being able to allow the export of data to .CSV and then allowing the data to be imported back into the table.(with validation in place before the import occurs)
