I want a user to be able to leave the textbox blank and have an empty string inserted into the database column. However, MVC is trying to set the property to null during the Create postback, which causes ModelState.IsValid to be false and subsequently the validation UI is triggered with the message "The value '' is invalid".Here is the model:

But this doesn't seem to be the case with DataNavigateUrlFields

But I want insert id and number from gridview into TableNumber like this:
If id in( 1 , 9) then add three space before number .
If id in( 10 ,9 9) then add two space before number .

Aug 10, 2010I have 2 dropdown lists on a WebForm. One of them is populated in the page's Page_Load event. This oneworks fine with the following code.

Then, after a value is selected from this list and a date is selected from a DateTime picker, then I click a button which is supposed to populate the 2nd dropdownlist. In the debugger in the button's click event I can see that the dataset is being populated with data, but then the list is never populated after the DataBind() method is run. Forms Data Controls :: Change Binding Based On Formview Insert Or Edit?
Apr 24, 2010I'm using an edittemplate to handle both editing and inserting for a Formview. In Insert mode, the Identity parameter is not needed (and cannot be used in the parameter list). In Edit mode, I need the bound value to know which record to update. So, what I tried to do is set the Text property in the OnDataBinding method.

The result is that the field is bound for Insert anyway, shows up as a parameter, and my insert statement fails (since this extra field messes up the field order of the parameters). Plus, it is always null in Insert mode by definition.
Is the OnDataBinding method too late to clear the property? If so, where can I do this, since PageLoad is too early (the template has not loaded yet and I cannot Findcontrol the field. Or is there a better way to handle all this?
