How I can make a SkinFile for BoundField in DetailsView? In each BoundField inside DetailView, I have a TextBox. I would like to make a SkinFile for make up all TextBox inside a DetailsView. Code below are my example but it is not work. Here is my SkinFile:

how to make up all of TextBox inside DetailsView? My solution nowaday is. I have to go to eche Fields properties, then point ControlStyle-CssClass to my DetailsViewTextBoxStyle in *.CSS. This solution waste my time a lot if that DetailsView contents a hundred Textbox.

I use ObjectDataSource and DetailsView for Updating records . my Bll input parameter method is an Object instead of regular parameter . So i though i could make my own ObjectParameter in ItemUpdating event of DetailsView and i need some modifiation on the data that user input on boudfield in detailsView . I don't know how to access BoundFiled data from ItemUpdating Method of DetailsView.

I have some ImageField in my DetailsView and when I changed it to Insert mode then ImageField is also became the textbox that allow you to type something, and my question is how I can make ImageField to be read only when I changed DetailsView to Insert mode?

I would like to know how can I easily customize my detailsView that when it is in Create mode ID field should be invisible I can rememebr that it was sth like visible = <% code here ... (IsCreated ??) here is an example:

Say I have a DetailsView with a bunch of fields, and I want only certain kinds of users to edit a few of them. They're too few to split them into another DetailsView, so what I'm thinking is to find some way to only allow a user to edit them based on some code-behind logic, effectively making them read-only at will.
I feel it's important to mention that the fields are both TemplateFields, not normal BoundFields with ReadOnly properties. For some reason the required functions don't jump at me from reading the documentation. Oh and I need eveyone to see their specific values, I just want to restrict edit access to them.

I am trying to arrange the information from a SQL record into a 3 column by 3 row table to fit the form presentation that I want. I have placed on the page 3X3 table and then tried to place a detailsview in the first cell for the first picture called P1dv.
I have place a detailsview in the last cell that would control the paging of information called Controldv. I need to fiqure out how to link P1dv paging to Controldv page action. I am using visual web dev. 2005. I am not updating or editing these are read only views.

I´m trying to link the gridview to detailsview and I used this page as my inspiration:

But I´m trying to do that programmatically, not with the sqldatasource. So I wrote the method that binds data to Detailsview and I call it in the page_load. The problem is that I have to click two times on the select button to view the detailsview. The first time I click on the select button nothing happens.

When using a simple gridview targeting .net 4.0 if i click the edit button twice it converts to BoundFields to textboxes, but in previous version of .net (3.5 and 2.0) nothing happens (eventhough msdn says it suppose to happen). Have anyone seen this issue?

In vb.net how can I get the value of a gridview's boundfield value? I'm basically putting a value in that boundfield that I need to access in the RowDeleting event so I can pass that into a stored procedure. I'd be open to also trying to get the value of a control from a template column too if that's a better method?

I have the following code:

This is placed in the sqldatasource selecting sub. It works well and loads up data from the database based on the @UserId parameter.
I load up the detailsview and it only loads up data from the DB based on the currently logged in user, however i want them to be able to insert some data too.
Anyone know how i can achieve this when they select insert? For starters i having endless parameter problems but i am sure i can sort that out. what i really need is someone to tell me how i can pass the UserId into the USERID text when the details view mode changes to "insert"
I know there is a "mode changed" event, should i be using that?

I have one two GridViews on a page. One Gridview uses BoundFields inside of the GridView and the Update statement works just fine. The other GridView utilizes TemplateFields due to the fact that Validation Expressions have to be used. I also want This GridView to be able to update the vlues when the user clicks on the Update link on the right side of the GridView. The GridView that uses the BoundFields updates just fine, but the GridView that uses TemplateFields will not update. I have checked and everything is correct other than this difference of BoundField and TemplateField.

I I have a GridView attached to a SqlDataSource and all is working well. I also have and edit and delete icon attached to each record in the GridView, and again, all is working well.My problem is when I add a BoundField named 'statusCode', the delete stored procedure fails with:"Procedure or function 'up_delReference' expects parameter '@statusCode', which was not supplied."When I remove the BoundField named 'statusCode' from the GridView list, the delete works fine. I need to show the status in the GridView as the user can chose to see Avtive, Inavtive or Both records and they need to see the status when in Both.Here is the Code:
