In my master page I want to put an image on the top centre. what property should I use to align the image at the center. Also I have background image on my master page and all the web pages have different colors then master page. How to set the background color of the aspx page and how to set the fix width of the aspx page in the center of the master page?

I have a master page and set it's back ground color in the body tag <body style="background-color:Red">. Now that is fine for the Master page. How do I set the back ground color of the content page to a different color?

I am using a css for maintaing the styles for the links.I have written a function in javascript to apply a different class dynamically in the "onclick" event.when i click on the link, untill the page postbacks the new style is applied but after the post back the hyperlink style is changed back to the original color.

I am trying to define common Master Page Type in app_code which has an area to display error messages and the like. Very simple.
I added the following in app_code:

Also, I added the following in Master Page Source Declaration:

Also, I added the controls tblrowErrMsg and lblErrMsg as server controls to the Master Page.
Why I am doing this ?
This will allow me to display error messages from nearly any where inside the code in code-behined, app_code, and other core Class Projects (DLL).
I used center tag in my page and put whole page in this tag

But it didn't put page at the center of browser it put my page in right of browser.. How I can put my pages at the center of browser?
I have a master page setup that is used throughout my site that is basically a header with a menu. I recently added a textbox and a button to this master page which is to be a quick search box that is available anywhere in the site. When a user enters text into the search box and hits the button, I need to load the actual content page which is used to search and show search results (which also uses this same master page), and have the text entered available so the search can be triggered automatically. Again, this search text box and button is now in my master page so it could be triggered from anywhere in the app... it serves as a convenient way to do a basic search from anywhere in my app, without having to first navigate to the actual 'search page' that already exists. You can also navigate to the actual search page, which uses the same master page, where there is many more search options.I'm thrown off by the master page arrangement, which I have not used until this project. What do I do?

View 4 RepliesI have a master page containing a tree and 3 dropdown lists. I am populating a context menu on right click of each node, and when clicked on any item of the context menu, it navigates to required pages.
My problem is after navigating to the required page, the selected values from the drop down lists and the selected node from the tree are getting cleared.
I can set the selected values for the dropdown lists by making some properties in master page.
But how do i maintain the selected node?
In my content page, i have got the valuepath of the right clicked node.
Or is there any other way than setting the properties in master page?
I'm trying to dynamically change the look of my main master page depending on what nested master page that the current content page is using .
So for example.
Main master page = main.master
My nested page = nested.master (uses main.master)
content page = content.aspx (uses nested.master)
So in the Page_Load event of main.master I want to add a switch statement that will check to see what nested master page is currently being used by content.aspx, or whatever content page is loaded.
So far I have got

My master page looks like:

This works by placing the content page specific title on the page ("My Page" in this example). Now I want to add a global prefix to the title in my master page for the site name. So I want:

However, when I do this content pages are still rendered without "Example.com" in the tile, it's like it's ignored.
Why is this happening and how can I achieve this?

My default.aspx page is quite long and you would have to scroll to see the rest of the page in the explorer window. Now to stop the user from interacting with the page when postbacks take place, i need to use an updateprogress control. The question is how do I get this to run at the centre of the page even if the user scrolls while the postback is in progress? Also to grey out the background.

the width of content outer div is 1400px,it works well in the screen whose width is 1400 or more but when i run it in the scree of width 1024, the whole page starts from left,,,i want to center align my page when open in the browser,i have given some css properties like
content-outer:
margin-left:auto;
margin-right:auto;(not working)
but i m not able to center align my whole page,,,plz tell me how can i do that,,i have also given the same properties for body but again no luck
