I am using a master page where i have couple of links. I am using a css for maintaing the styles for the links.I have written a function in javascript to apply a different class dynamically in the "onclick" event.when i click on the link, untill the page postbacks the new style is applied but after the post back the hyperlink style is changed back to the original color.
View 7 RepliesI have a gridview that populate hyperlinks on a page. When i click on it it redirect to another page but when I go back one page it doesn't color the visited hyperlink. Does the gridview not support that or something? It works on the rest of my site. I tried adding CSS to it and still the same. This was my CSS:

I have a master page and set it's back ground color in the body tag <body style="background-color:Red">. Now that is fine for the Master page. How do I set the back ground color of the content page to a different color?

I'm working on a project that have 3 diffrent type of users with 3 diffrent master pages. I can verfiy there access level and let them view pages but after googling I came accross a tutorial form asp.net but it wasn't very helpfull the code I got listed below works only if the session is at null, It dosen't seem to pull the session value.

Let me set this up:I have a master page. I have a regular aspx page - this page contains a Menu and a User Control.When I click on the Menu Item, it fires my click event. This will post back. The Master Page Uses Placeholder Controls where I dynamicaly create Label Controls with information and add them to the Placeholders. These contain data with tooltips. This works great. After the Master Page and Web Page load, it will then fire the Click Event from the Menu.The problem:The Click event will update data in the database, This data may effect the values that are created on the Master Page that are placed in the Placeholder controls. I can't seem to figure out how to change that data.
What I have tried:I have created a reference to my Master Page on my Web Page. In the Click Event after I have made changes to the Database, I call the function on the master page that Creates all the data and places them in the place holders. It Runs, but nothing changes on my page.Am I going about this wrong? Is there another way of doing this? I terrible work around, would be to just reload the whole page after I do an update.
My Master Page has a heading with tabs. The code looks something like:

I can think of two ways to control which tab is highlighted from within a user control:Have the user control implement an interface. The master page can decide which tab to highlight based on which interface is implemented, or based on a method in the interface that returns a string.In the Page_Load (or Page_Init) function, tell the master page (via FindControl or via a function in the Master Page) which control to highlight.I don't really like either of these solutions. Is there a clean way I could control which tab is highlighted from the control at design time (i.e., in the aspx file)?
In my user control I got this inline CSS in which I have only css classes... like I am not setting any attribute or whatever on some ID..got only classes like :-

Now my question:-
Do I need to worry about system generated IDs if the CSS in my user control got only classes ? like in my page source..the divs ID changes from their original ID to something like ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder2_ctl00_Banner_divBanner after adding usercontrol and master page ...
so changing IDs shouldn't make any difference..right ??
i have two Text box(dynamically created) and one button.

After clicking one of these buttons, my wizard ActiveStepIndex have to change. This is no problem.

But now I would like to change the buttons background-color after clicking one of them. This is no problem too, but if I click the next button, the first button background color must change to white. But it does not do that. It remains constant #cccccc.
Only the button, whitch I have clicked should be #cccccc. The other buttons should be white.

View 8 RepliesHere is the thing. I have an aspx page with NO master page. I have two resource files with the same name (and specifying the language) in the App_LocalResources folder. If I do something like text="<%$ Resources:lblUser %> works fine. What I do to test it is change the browser's selected language.
But, if I do the same in a MasterPage or in a Page that is inside a MasterPage... when changing the Browser's language and refreshing... I'm still getting the default language...
I've been reading some threads about this but the situation was a little bit different.
I have a asp:listbox with 5 items in it. By default the list box is disabled. (i.e it only shows the items in it but user cant do anything with these items.) I have to make the color of these items in the list box to red but when the listbox is disabled the items are defaulted to the gray color. Any idea how I can change the color of the items in the disabled list box ?

I'm writing a script and need with being able to modify the ImageUrl property in a HyperLink control from the code behind page. It is meant to dynamically show an image.

View 1 RepliesI am reading a datareader, populating a datatable and then when finished populating I bind to a gridview. Right now, I am placing a literal in the cell of the rows based upon date differences....sort of a textual gant chart. What I want to be able to do is change the background color of the cell I am putting these literals in. I am including the code below where I am populating the cells with the text. Does anyone know how to make the background color change? I know that in a normal gridview on datarowbind I can change it but I don't know how to do this on a cell by cell basis within the code I have below.
