I am trying to render a simple hyperlink that links to a named anchor within the page, for example:
<a href="#namedAnchor">scroll to down</a> <a name="namedAnchor">down</a>
The problem is that when I use an ASP.NET control like asp:HyperLink or HtmlAnchor, the href="#namedAnchor" is rendered as href="controls/#namedAnchor" (where controls is the subdirectory where the user control containing the anchor is). Here is the code for the control, using two types of anchor controls, which both have the same problem:
[code]....
I am using the HtmlAnchor or HyperLink class because I want to make changes to other attributes in the code behind. I do not want to introduce a custom web control for this requirement, as the requirement I'm pursuing is not that important enough to justify abandoning the traditional ASP.NET link controls. It seems like I should be able to use the ASP.NET link controls to generate the desired link.
In one of my content page , i have two divs - div1,div2.
On page load , only the div1 will be visible. On clicking a button inside it the div1 is made to invisible and the second div- div2 is made visible.
At the page load , i want to make the button inside the div1 to be the default one. On its click i want to make the button inside the div2 to be the default one .How can i do that?
I wish to set the accept button for each of my content pages. My Master Page login button is set as the accept button somehow. This is fine for the home page, but not the majority of the other 40 pages. All of my website pages are content pages and they are linked to the master page. They don't have forms, just contentplaceholder tags. Does anyone know if there is a way to programaticaly set the accept button in the code behind of a content page?
need that when the edit is clicked the update/cancel appear. user types the update and when press the ENTER key the update is made. How to set the update link button as default.
I noticed that the "disabled" property that appears in Intellisense for a link control doesn't work (when set to either True or False)..how can I programmatically accomplish the contextual disabling of a hyperlink via Visual Basic?
I have a page with user controls getting dynamically added. Inside some of these user controls there are form elements, either simple <input> tags or complex third party controls (Telerik RadDatePicker for example) (technical details at end).
These controls are currently being identified as part of the same form based on a ValidationGroup string setting. My question is how can I get these form elements to submit on Enter together and raise the right postback event?
I cannot use the DefaultButton panel property because I don't have the id of the submit button available within the controls server-side. I think I might be able to use jquery clientside like this:
But I don't know how to do that for the third party controls.
Further technical details: Each form element is in a separate DNN module. Inter-module communication can be used to pass around data server side which results in multiple modules working together as part of a single logical form on a page.
I created an image button in my header template. When clicked, it calls the Sorting method. When I change the image url in code behind, it does not render. By setting a break point, I can see the property being updated, but I assume it is getting overridden by the default I set in the HTML page.
i have two data tables. one data table i am binding to Datalist. based on one column value in the first datatable i have to get values from another datatable and need to bind to the Datalist as hyperlink(or anchor tag).
i want to add event to anchor link in marquee and definite this event in other page.

so I'm trying to get this dropdown thing to work but it's not working... I want the page to jump to the state on the SAME page once the USER releases on the desired state within the dropdownlist box.
to have back fired on me a bit (See http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?t=620703). I have some other buttons on the page that I attach javascript to, e.g.:
Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function Pick12() { var PopupWindow = null;
[code]....
Basically I use javascript to pop open a window with a datepicker which they use to populate a textbox on the main page with a date. However, if I set a defaultbutton, when i click one of these buttons the popup window flashes to the front of the screen and then the main browser window gets focus over it. Without default button the popup stays on top.
I have a rad grid where I can insert/update and delete items of data. i have set up a CommandItemTemplate with a button that, when clicked will put the grid in edit mode. What I would like to do is have the same functionality but from an external asp.net button. If I can get this button to trigger the adGrid_ItemCommand event then I could get it working. But how do I pass the relevant GridCommandEventArgs from a asp.net button ?
I have a gridview that displays entries from a data table. I am giving users the ability to select a subset of the data in the table by having a textbox and search button in the grid view header. The search button fires the gridview row command, and changes the underlying sqlDataSource's select command, and adds the text value from the text box as a parameter.
Also, I have a "Show All" button in the header, that clears out the select parameters, so all entries in the table are shown. Again, this works perfectly.
What is NOT working is controlling the visibility of the "Show All" button control. Below is the html markup for the data grid header template:
<HeaderTemplate> <asp:Button ID="btnShowAll" runat="server" CausesValidation="False" CommandName="ShowAll" Text="Show All" /> <asp:Button ID="btnSearch" runat="server" CausesValidation="True" CommandName="Search" Text="Search" ValidationGroup="vldSearch" /><br /> <asp:TextBox ID="txtSearchName" runat="server"></asp:TextBox> <asp:RequiredFieldValidator ID="vldSearchName" runat="server" ErrorMessage="You have to provide an attorney name to search for." Text="*" ControlToValidate="txtSearchName" ValidationGroup="vldSearch" ForeColor="White"></asp:RequiredFieldValidator> </HeaderTemplate>
In the Row Command event handler, here is how I am setting the visibility of the button:
If Not Me.dgAttorneys.HeaderRow Is Nothing Then Dim btnShowAll As Button = Me.dgAttorneys.HeaderRow.FindControl("btnShowAll") btnShowAll.Visible = Me.sqlAttorneys.SelectParameters.Count > 0 Trace.Write("Show all status is " & btnShowAll.Visible.ToString) End If
The trace statement is showing the correct visible status - if the "show all" button is clicked, I do a SelectParameters.Clear() on the sqlAttorneys sqlDataSource.
Is my problem due to a misunderstanding of how the "FindControl" method works - I had assumed my new btnShowAll that I define is actually a reference to the "physical" control on the aspx page, so any changes I make to my local object is reflected in the control on the page.
If this is not the case, what is the best way to get a reference to the button control in the header row of the grid view?
I have several text boxes in an asp:Panel. When the user hits Enter from any of those boxes, I want the form to submit as if they've clicked btnAddTag. (When the cursor is not in those boxes, I have a different default submit button.)
I have a gridview with edit button. I want to set focus on a textbox in a row when clicking "Edit" button. (it is a label before clicking edit, it become a textbox after clicking edit). However, i can't set it focus in Rowdatabound. By the way, I make a simple .aspx page and just put a textbox on the tabcontainer tab panel. I found that i totally cannot set focus on this text box.
Here is aspx page with a text box, the .aspx page code is below:
