I have to add a progress bar on my web page to show the progress of submission. My page on submit saves the data in the database. I have to show user how long will the submission take place. For an e.g., 50% Completed and so on..
View 4 Repliesi have in one page of my site big form (like an order form) with the user details (name, phones, email, etc) + he can upload 1-15 files + some more and more textboxes. at the end there is a send order button that handle the data (to sql database with code behaind, C#). The form is working fine!!! i just want to show the user some precents progress window or something like that so he will follow the progress. ( dont send articles that show gmail upload style - the progress need to deal the all progress not just the files)
View 5 RepliesI've got an ASP.NET web application (utilizing WebForms) and am using Uploadify to handle uploading large files. This is done by posting the file to an HttpHandler.
Example of code (simplified for demonstration purposes):
$(".uploadify").uploadify({[CODE]....
the progress bar being displayed doesn't actually reflect the progress of the upload, and shows the upload as being complete long before the file is actually uploaded. Therefore, the user interface effectively appears like it is doing nothing while the progress bar stays at 100%, until the file is complete.
In some cases, the upload simply fails after reaching 100%, with the OnComplete event never getting fired, almost like the response from the HttpHandler is getting lost in transit, even though the file is saved.I've tried both Flajaxian and SWFUpload, and experienced similar issues with the progress bar being completely out of sync with actual upload progress, indicating completion well before the upload was actually complete.
This problem is not apparent when testing locally, or with small files (typically under a few megabytes) as these tend to upload fairly quickly and there's little or no lag between the file being uploaded and the progress bar completing.Is there any way of using a Flash upload solution (such as Uploadify) with an ASP.NET web application and have the progress bar better represent the actual progress of the upload?
Update: Eventually, I gave up trying to use a flash based uploader as they seemed a bit too awkward, especially the progress bar, which didn't represent the actual progress of the upload at all. Replaced this with Brettle NeatUpload instead which works much better.
I am inserting data from gridview to database with checkbox selected item and my requirement is i need to show progress bar in each checked row..i.e if data is inserting the current row should show as inprogress status after that it should say that the process is completed..and so on for all rows how to achieve this..
View 1 RepliesI have to use progress bar with modal popup when page postback. in my application report section is there. it's taking some time to generate the report. so i want to show some progerss image instead of nothing. i used java script and modal popup. here is my code.
<script type="text/javascript">
// var prm = Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance();
//Raised before processing of an asynchronous postback starts and the postback request is sent to the server. prm.add_beginRequest(BeginRequestHandler);
// Raised after an asynchronous postback is finished and control has been returned to the browser. prm.add_endRequest(EndRequestHandler);
[Code] ....
but it's not working could you check the code.
I have an asp.net page, with couple of Divs, some of these div's get the image path from database and show the image in a smaller version (thumbnail). and as soon as the user click on thumbnail, I use ajax Modal popup to show the full size image, what I need to have is to have a progress image(gif), on every thumbnail image while loading the asp.net page for the first time, I konw that it is possible to use UpadePanel, but I need the actual working code,or any other way to achieve this,
View 3 RepliesI am trying to call somehting reall simple like Label1.visible = true; while a rather cumbersome sql select is exicuting for a particular page.
I've tried to call it like this:
protected void GridView1_DataBinding(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Label1.Visible = true;
}
and I tried like this:
protected void SqlDataSource1_Selecting(object sender, SqlDataSourceSelectingEventArgs e)
{
Label1.Visible = true;
}
with no luck
WHERE to call it, and if there is cool progress bar function too, that would be bonul. (But im OK with a generic animated gif or lable)
I am uploading images to database....but only error that I am getting at this point when I run it is for.....

View 5 RepliesWhat is the efficient way to upload excel data to sql database?excel file consists of 4000 rows..so i need to save these records to sql database in web application,i know only by creating ODBC connection i.e
_path = @"Driver={Microsoft Excel Driver (*.xls)};DriverId=790;Dbq=" + _path;
OdbcConnection _xlsConn = new OdbcConnection(_path);
_xlsConn.Open();
OdbcCommand _xlsSelSht = new OdbcCommand("Select " + columns + " FROM [" + _sheet + "$]", _xlsConn);
OdbcDataReader _xlsReader = _xlsSelSht.ExecuteReader();
while (_xlsReader.Read()){.....}
i have datagrid , data coming from database but data in database as formated , i want to show data wihotu format
below example:
<B> test </B> data base has this type data
but in grid i want to show test not with format,
i am getting same data from database.
I m reading the file. As I have very large files, it will take time to read.
In the mean time, I want to show progress bar.
Have an application with several gridviews where user can enter query parameters for each grid view. I am using "DropDownList_SelectedIndexChanged" to call methods that will fill and show each grid view.
For some of these queries the processing time could be several seconds, so I thought I could use and display Ajax progress control.
Code:
<div>
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server">
<ContentTemplate>
<asp:Label runat="server" ID="Label15" Text="Load in progress....." />
<img src="Icons/ajax-Loader.gif" alt="The spinner should be here" />
</ContentTemplate>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
</div>
How can I trigger progress control to show out of my selectedindexchanged events?
