Apr 13, 2010I am trying to make a simple photo gallery website. Using ASP.NET and C#. Right now I don't have a server set up but I am just using the development one that Visual Studio Starts when you make a website project and run it.
I have a folder on my hard drive that contains an unknown number of images. I want to write a piece of code that will go through each image and add them to the default webpage. I have tried this code but it doesn't work. What am I doing wrong? Should I be using a ListView control or a DataView or something like that? Do I need to add a virtual directory in order to access the images? If so, how do I to that on this test server?
ALSO, how do I set the position and alignment of these pictures? For example, how would I make it so that the pictures are in a line vertically and centered on the webpage?

I have an .net web form that upload an excel file to my server. I would like for this Excel file to be upload to my SQL server since it need to be process by a sql command and the SQL server cannot seems to be able to access the IIS7 when running the quary i needed. All i want to be able to do is to load this excel file to a folder within the SQL server.Here is my web.config folder path -

Sep 23, 2010I changed an app so one of the edit screens opens as a pop-up window via showModalDialog. Previously everything was done in the same window and more back and forth navigation was required. The pop-up provides greater continuity. Unfortunately, as a pop-up, files will not stream to the desktop. If I bring up the page by entering a URL on the address line, so it is not a pop-up, files stream to the desktop OK.
Streaming a file to the desktop is done as follows:

This causes an open/save/cancel dialog to appear in the browser. Does anyone have an idea why a file cannot be streamed to a pop-up window? To get pop-ups to work I always include

in the header. That way I can open other pop-ups such as warnings and database error messages from a prvious pop-up.
