Web Forms :: To Find Custom Sqlpersonalization Provider?

where I can find an implementation of an sqlpersonalization provider that has the personalization data stored in a way that is readable and modifiable? I have a custom web parts portal and I need to be able to determine what web parts a user has added to their page from a catalogue, as well as the values they have set in the custom editor part (both for rebuilding their portal pages after major applcation upgrades, and for reporting purposes.)
I have watched the how to video on Creating a Custom Membership provider. So far it works great. My login control interacts well with it etc. Now i've created a Custom Role Provider. I've created a class that inherits the RoleProvider base class and i've added code to each Sub. My question is, what is the best way to implement the role provider, considering I get the Roles etc from the database?
I try to get the user profile settings with this code. But all items in it are empty, in the database they are not empty. So there is going something wrong. First of oll how can i add a provider to the ProfileCommon ? Maybe i'm there then... the usrInfo is filled well...
i have implemented custom role provider and membership provider .
login page : SignIn.aspx
on successful login it redirects to (index-Homepage.aspx)
now PROBLEM is when it successfully logged in ,and redirects to 'index-Homepage.aspx' it gives Anornymoustemplate ..while its verifying the role correctly in index-Homepage.aspx.cs
i'm building an application and i need to manage roles, users and more things so i tought to use the membership provider but i have some questions about it: can i full extend it and can i override the functions to use a database table to store infos about config or i need to build my own provider?
VS says Profile is in System.Web.Profile Namespace. I then use it like this "System.Web.Profile.FirstName", but says first name does not exist in System.Web.Profile.FirstName namespace.

I have created my own custom role provider class "SGI_RoleProvider" and configured properly.
Everything is working fine.
Suppose that I have added a public method say "SayHello()", then how can i call that. Because if i am using Roles then the method is not displayed. If i am forcefully using that Roles.SayHello() then compiler gives the error.
how can i call this. Because creating a new instance of SGI_RoleProvider is meaningless.

No matter what I write into textboxes, following error is being returned:
The password retrieval question provided is invalid.
I don't know why. Either in web.config or in get RequiresQuestionAndAnswer I have false value. When I instantiate my TestMembershipProvider and call CreateUser directly instead of using static Membership.CreateUser, it works fine. Do I have to use instance of my TestMembershipProvider or did I missed anything?
I have created my custom MembershipProvider. I have used an instance of the class DBConnect within this provider to handle database functions. Please look at the code below:

I have instantiated dbConn object within Initialize() event. My problem is that how could i dispose off this object when object of SGIMembershipProvider is disposed off. I know the GC will do this all for me, but I need to explicitly dispose off that object. Even I tried to override Finalize() but there is no such overridable method. I have also tried to create destructor for SGIMembershipProvider.

I am trying to create strogly typed datasets for my project. When I right click on the xsd file that I need to generate a strongly typed dataset for I can't find the 'Advanced' properties as described in the below article (almost half way down)[URL]As I do not see the Advanced properties option I can't find the 'Custom Tool' property/option to set its value to 'MSDatasetGenerator'. I am trying to use: [URL] I have downloaded the converted to VB files and inserted them in my app_code folder. I created the SQL table and ran both SQL stored procedures Now for the web.config, I already have a connection to my database for the aspnet memberships since I have it on my own database, so I used that for the connection and I did this:

But I get run time errors when I try to set a profile. The error I get is in the SqlTableProfileProvider.vb and it says "Incorrect syntax near ','." Which is really not enough information but that is all what it gives me
I created the Table Profile Provider with the VB.NET and it works perfectly but I have one issue with it.. My Table (UserProfile) can't be linked with any other tables because the UserID on userprofile is different than any other table yet when I do profile.firstname on the vb code it works perfectly. Say for example I have a username called john If I do select * from aspnet_users where username = 'john' The results would come to 2 rows, 1 which has a userid and applicationid that is used on ALL the tables in my database EXCEPT for userprofile The second one would have a applicationid and userid that is only use on my userprofile table.
I have seen a lot of examples posted on how to create a Custom SiteMap Provider which is directly linked to the Business Logic in the Presentation Layer, however, I would like to write a Custom SiteMap Provider which inherits from StaticSiteMapProvider and is driven by the database. In addition, I would like to expose all of this logic behind WCF Services.
Are there any samples on how to implement a Custom SiteMap Provider over WCF Services since I am having a hard time trying to figure out exactly how to put a solution following this architectural pattern together.

the error i'm getting after moving the aspnetdb db for the login control from vs to my iis for testing, see below for how i made the move attach the vs2005/app_data db to the sql express studio, there you can add the myMachine/aspnet user to the sql security users and then the users for the db, and give it db_datareader and db_datawriter permissions. then make sure that both the aspnetdb.mdf and its aspnetdb_log.ldf files have r+w permission for the aspnet account. then copy both files to app_data directory under the application folder in iis.

I have a very basic web site that uses a standard login control. It was original built using ASP.NET 2.0, and when I preformed a few site improvments, VS 2010 upgraded the site to version 4.0. Locally, everything is fine. But live, everything is working except the login authentication. All other pages that use the database work fine.
does the upgrade process affect the database? As this is the only thing I've not replaced on the live server.
