I would note that I updated to VWD Express 2010 then had to revert back to 3.5 because my host at Arvixe had not updated my server yet. He then said he updated it and I reverted up to 4.0 again. It turned out he hadn't and I tried to revert back...and then this showed up and numerous other errors.

Jan 23, 2010I use vs2008 and my MVC 1.0 and 2.0 Projects were working perfectly but all of a sudden i have an error on trying to compile all of them;
The error is of the form;
Error 1 The type or namespace name 'Controllers' does not exist in the namespace 'XXX' (are you missing an assembly reference?)
Error 3 The type or namespace name 'Models' does not exist in the namespace 'XXX' (are you missing an assembly reference?)
Error 4 The type or namespace name 'AccountController' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
Error 5 The type or namespace name 'IFormsAuthenticationService' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
Error 6 The type or namespace name 'IMembershipService' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
These errors seem to come from the HomeControllerTest and the AccountControllerTest.
note that i recently installed Azure Tools using the Web Installer..Dunno if that could be the cause or problem.

Feb 16, 2010I've been reading through the fb developer api documentation and I'm trying to find out what would be the easiest way to post information on a website to the website's own facebook page. for instance - the assumed workflow is like this:
an admin user adds new content to the company website - and once submitted that content should automatically appear as a link on the company's facebook page.
Do I use the API, facebook Connect, a facebook Share button etc. Looking for some recommendations based on my assumed workflow. Project will be coded in c# (although I'm really looking for recommendations of which tool to use from someone's experiences with the api)

Jul 25, 2010I have an MVC 2 web application which uses models auto-generated by LINQ. When I add a Silverlight project to my solution, generating a new strongly-typed View fails with the message:
Compiling transformation: The type or namespace name 'Data' does not exist in the namespace 'System' (are you missing an assembly reference?). I understand this is most likely because Silverlight does not access the System.Data namespace (at least, I can't add the reference to my Silverlight app). However, it's not really important - I'm just trying to generate an .aspx View at this stage, not a Silverlight View.
Is there any way to get this template generation to work, or do I have to create my Silverlight project outside the solution and build it separately? I was kind of hoping to take advtage of WCF RIA and some of the other goodies one gets from including the Silverlight app within the main solution... anybody got a fix?

currently I am working with .net framework 3.5.
Now the problem is that, I need the contents of all the .ASPX page of the whole website.
From the study through the stuffs on internet, I got to know that the website was published with "Allow this precompiled site to be updatable" unselected.
So in all .aspx page i get the message "This is a marker file generated by the precompilation tool, and should not be deleted! "
AJAX :: Adding Trigger To UpdatePanel From Content Page?
Sep 10, 2010I got an updatepanel which contains a normal panel on MasterPage. The updatepanel does not contain content place holder. On the content page, I have to add triggers to updatepanel for buttons that are dynamically created on "page_load" event. The problem is that, since the page_load event of content page is being called before master page's page_load event, UpdatePanel is not being created. So that, whenever i try to add triggers in page_load event of content page, i got an error like "A control with ID 'ctl00$editableContent$ctl42' could not be found for the trigger in UpdatePanel 'up1'."
The code below is for adding triggers to updatepanel for buttons.

Nov 17, 2010I bought a website a few years ago, hosted with WebHost4Life,. Since their migration their has been nothing but problems with my site, however, I am stuck because I don't have the knowledge to move it, have tried with no success. Anyway, recently I have been getting parser error messages, Webhost fixed them, and then it starts over again. It takes them weeks to get around to it and since its my livelihood, I can't afford for the site to be down for 5 days then running for one day. I've tried to contact the guy that built the site to no avail, he won't answer my emails.
why these parser errors keep happening. This is a recent thing from the past 2 months, never had this before. What can I do to stop it. it looks like the knowledge here is unreal, I'm in awe everytime I read your answers. BTW, heres my lastest parser error:

One part of submitted data is added to database after "submit" is clicked. (to "table1") Another part is lost (not added to "table2", and no files uploaded) I have no source code of that project. So, because I cant edit existing page, I came to a decision to add new .aspx page to a running application with same functions as existing one. How can I do that?
