Web Forms :: When Click The Yes Box The Page Automatically Scrolls To The Top?
Feb 24, 2010
I have the following problems on the form: Q.11 when I click the yes box the page automatically scrolls to the top.. what can you do so the focus remains in the same place on the page
I'm using VS2005 / VS2008 and MSSQL RS 2005 + ReportViewer v.8 or v.9.
Problem: when user makes drillthrough click on "plus sign" on Matrix row postback occurs. Then scroll position is lost! It scrolls to the top of the page. It's very bad for report users.
The most interesting thing is that it happens only within ReportViewer! I works acceptable if I open report via "localhost/ReportServer/Pages/ReportViewer.aspx?..." . It's based on something similar to ReportViewer :
[code]....
And it remains scroll position well!
Is there a way to make ReportViewer working correcly? (remembering scroll position on Matrix row drillthrough postback)
I read that Report Viewer 10 (of VS 2010) will lack this issue but it doesn't support MSSQL 2005 which I plan to use so far.
When a user clicks a control that has autopostback=true, the screen refreshes and scrolls back to the top of the page. Is there a way to avoid this and have the page stay in the position it's in?
I have page on which I've a login control in which I've a subnit button. The problem is this that when I refresh the that page the submit button or any button that was clicked last before page refresh gets its click event automatically fired.
I have a Datagrid which is editable by the user. When you click on the edit button next to the item that you want to edit, it scrolls right back to the top of the page and you have to scroll back down to edit the item. how to stop this from happening?
I inserted a record in my database and if it is successful, then, it will automatically redirected on a certain page. However, when I click on the BACK button of the browser, it will bring back of course the previous page and at the same time, the data that I encoded still appear. How am be able my page that if in case my users click on the Back button of the browser it will redirect on a certain page or if not, the entries will not appear.
Why does microsoft make objects in .NET with incomplete behavioural methods, then expect everyone to use a client side "language" to help complete the methods? I don't wanna have to use Javascript to keep focus on my leaf node in my TreeView after clicking it. I want a server side answer to my question, but if that's impossible I guess I can run ANOTHER javascript bandaid to do this, since I guess Microsoft doesn't have a solution. Oh and By the Way if your going to post an answer please remember I'm using WEBFORMS not WINFORMS. God help people who try to run my app (or any .net app) and don't have Javascript enabled on thier browsers. Does Microsoft own Javascript? Maybe since they rely so heavily on help from the client side to achieve behaviours, they ought to think about acquiring it.

I have a feedback form in my website. After submitting the feedback (using Submit button), form's Reference number should generate and showed to the user (with successful message) in a "Pop up" as below:
i.e, your feedback is submitted successfully. Your refrence number is 'xyz10'
This refrence number should be unique for every user who fills the feedback form.
I'm here again to share a problem that I'm fighting against for days. I'm developing an eCommerce Cart.
Within it, I have a repeater, inside of ITEMTEMPLATE I put one TextBox for product quantities and one Button, for update the quantity inserted on that textbox.
When the customer clicks over the Button, it fires a function that gets the content of the TextBox and do an update on my Database.
It works perfetly when it is done with the mouse click. But I need to fires the update function WHITHOUT the manually click event. When the customer just put the mouse out of the TextBox (onblur event), I want to fires that function.
Every time I create a new aspx page and add some new photos and text, after I finish, I have to update page title, Web.sitemap, Sitemap.xml to feed search engines, static sitemap.aspx page, add photos to proper folders, update database to display feeds etc, and I have to remember to upload all new files including links to any new pdfs....This routine eats my time and drives me crazy.
I was wondering if there is such interface, where you need to create only 1 aspx page, for example "Articles" which can populate Texts, photos etc into pre-defined sections, but at the same time it displays with different URL's, so there is a permanent link to it. After you finish it creates a title automatically, based on article title, populates Web.sitemap - does all the dirty work. Similar to how blog engines, Joomla and Drupal work.
i have a menu which is collapses as a default. This is done by following query.
[Code]....
Now, the problem is, whenever i click on any menu item by expanding the menu, the item page opens but the menu collapses again. I want to let the menu remain as expanded although a menu item is clicked. i.e. menu shouldn't refresh when a menu item is clicked.
after filling the form show message to user that account has been created which is not a big deal and after that show him a message that you will be redirected in 5 second... now redirection i need to be done using javascript...not META TAG..
I use the HTML editor in visual studio, if I have a document that is practically wide and I scroll to see what is there, when I click on the document with nothing there (white space) it scrolls back to the other side.

I have created a web application. I have a page "Default.aspx" and some other page say"test.aspx". In test.aspx, I am setting some values in a collection object and then setting this object in session. I am not getting but somehow during execution of test.aspx, the default.aspx gets called where the session containing object gets reset. Its very important for me to know whey this default.aspx gets called even I am not making any call to it. I have other pages also like a.aspx,b.aspx, c.aspx, d.aspx and many more. All other pages work fine.
