I have to find User Profile property name programatically, not for a particular user, I have to find all properties name for all users at a time(not to iterate one by one) to display in webparts as columns.

This is what I have in the RegisterUser.aspx and yet when the admin registers a new user, then on clickiing the register button, the site logs in as the user who was just created.
protected void CreateUserWizard1_CreatedUser(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Roles.AddUserToRole((sender as CreateUserWizard).UserName, "Department");
}

I am using profile services to store some attributes of users registered in the website. Now I am making a display profile page for a user. The problem is that the profile loads easily when I am running the site from VS 2010, but it gives the following error when I run it from IIS7 on my local machine:
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I am using URL Routing to route user to his profile page, which is a child page. Now the problem is that all the images, javascripts references are distorted when i user the url to reach that page whether logged in or not logged in (both the cases). But after reaching this page when i login from this page thru my modal popup login control, all the references seem to work fine. It is to be noted that i am still in that same page which i reached after url routing. So upon logging from here the whole page works and displays fine.
How come the references are automatically adjusted when i am logging in from this page and are not referenced when i log in from other page and route here or when i am logged out?
Global.asax code:
void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes);
}
public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes)
{
routes.Add("UseridRoute", new Route
(
"profile/{user}",
new CustomRouteHandler("~/UserProfile.aspx")
));
}

I am new at ASP.Net, and feel hard searching the site...
I use ASP.Net Configuration Website to manage roles and students...
and I have made a "Register.aspx" page in my site which containt a CreateUserWizard control...
I am working on a site for my college that alow students to register and enters their own University ID, and maybe other informations...
So How to do that...
and also I want to make a Users Management Page Under my site (do't need to use ASP.Net Configuration Website to manage users)...
do I have to make that page with working with the users table directly or there is standard way doing that...

I have a profile page that sends my users, once they register to a profile page which basically allows them the edit their profile. I use
<
a
href="@Href("~/Account/Profile",
WebSecurity.CurrentUserId)">Edit
your profile</a>
But what i noticed was: When the user goes to the profile page in the url is their account ID. if i change that id for example [URL] to [URL] then i can edit the other users profiles. Im using WebSecurity.RequireAuthenticatedUser(); But im guessing i need to use RequireUser(String)?? To be honest im just lost maybe i need a ( if xxx is IsCurrentUser )?

This is how I edit the profile variables for a currently logged in user:
Profile.variablename = "this";
How can I do the same thing, but specifying the username whose profile variable I want to change, as opposed to just the currently logged in user?
Something like Profile.variablename.("username", "this") is what I'm looking for.
I'm using C# asp.net.

I got the followig task.Create a website (Profile.aspx) in which the User can create and edit his profile.Well, I know how to write in a database, but how do I get the UserName oder the UserID to make a PrimaryKey?If the user is logged in a session will be started. In this session is the UserName but I don't know how to read out the UserName with ASP.NET to make an PrimaryKey. If I would try to read out the UserName with C# I must save it in an variable and give it somehow to my form.

I have a user control, that has an update panel and update progress control in it.
I use this user control in more than 1 location on the same page.... problem is, when ucA posts back, I see the update progress control for both ucA and ucB. I assume this is because it is a user control and the update panel and progress are named the same?
Either way - how do I make it so that the update progress only displays for the proper user control?

I've exempted the irrelevant bits of code. Essentially, I am trying to change the URL of an image control inside of an update panel inside of a custom user control from a function called inside an update panel from my main page. Using UpdatePanel.Update() isn't working: I end up waiting for the next full page POST to occur before all the updates I make to CustomControl from buttons within the main page's update panel are visible. I verified that Update() was being called via the debugger: there are no issues in that department.
Here, you can see Custom Control and the Button declared. The button is in an update panel to avoid giving a full POST and causing the whole page to reload.
<cust:CustomControl runat="server" ID="CustomControl1">
<asp:UpdatePanel runat="server" ID="UpdatePanel1"> <ContentTemplate>
<asp:Button id="Button1" runat="server" OnClick="DoStuff" />
</ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel>
This control stores images within their own seperate update panels because rerendering the images is very slow (it requires processing arrays of millions of datapoints) and the user only ever needs to modify one image at a time. I'm using Image1 as an example.

I'm working on a school project where my website idea of choice is one that creates mixtapes (well, you'd download them or burn them from the site, but I need not implement that). The site allows its users to create 6 song mixtapes that are then published into a transaction table.
That part I am fine with. Making the selection page is tough. The way I have it set up is that there are 6 columns with 3 drop downs. First the user picks the genre, then the artist WITHIN the genre, and the song from the artist (GENRE > ARTIST > SONG). So, I would need the ARTIST drop-down list to populate once a SelectIndexChanged occured on GENRE. Same with SONG, but it would use ARTIST instead of genre.
Repeat that 5 more times and click a button, and it would create a table and post it to the database.
I have thought up of 2 ways to go about it.
1) Create a session that expires once the user clicks the "create" button. This would be sluggish, as there would be about 12 page refreshes, and 12 session variables I'd need to store.
2) AJAX/jQuery. This way would be awesome, but I have no idea how in the world to write jQuery in such a manner that on an event it calls a method from a code-behind file.
One thing I found out before my brain went to mush (I've been working on this for 6 hours now), is that one way people have done this is to call a non-related .aspx file that serves as a method. The idea is ok, but how do I go about getting it to update objects on the page the user is currently on? I'd believe there is a simpler way to do this, and am looking to you guys for some guidance on how to dynamically update dropdownlists.
