Apr 20, 2010Whatever server Control we take on aspx page while in coding phase, all those controls are converted to html controls through the asp.net engine and sent to the requesting web browser. That's fine.
Now, all the controls that are rendered on the browser are html controls. I am bit confused that how after pressing any button (Or any such control that post back pages) page is posted back to the asp.net engine. How such html controls comes to know where (address) they have to go?
Page Cannot Be Displayed When Press Back Button?
Jul 6, 2010If I'm on a searchable site (example.com for example) and search some data then get a dropdown list, when I click on one of the items, then try to use the browser's back button to go back, I get the error "the page cannot be displayed". Does this have something to do with cookies or history settings?
I don't have this problem with mozilla, but I prefer to use IE for other reasons.

It is going to previous page, but when i am in a page of some user details where the link is looks like - users.aspx?userid=25 and i visit some other page and click back(image button) i want to see the same serdetail page. How to track that.

Feb 13, 2010I am using Ajax authentication service to login/logout users.And have 2 boxes one for logged users,another for any user.When user logged in he get loged in box,then go to another page,then press back,i have unlogged box.In Page_Load i check if (Reques.IsAuthenticated) then i change box on corresponding,in this case on Logged in box.But Page_Load is not called when i press button back(in browser) or backspace.

I have a simple details view and a button on a page. The button sends the user to the homepage. I am trying to prevent the user from being able to use the detailsview if they click Back in their browser.

When the button is clicked...oddly the user is sent to the homepage then when they click the browser back button they are sent to previous page with the detailsview still visiible.
I know I am missing something, can someone fill me in?

Oct 18, 2010I'll try to specify my problem as simple as possible! I have a problem comunicating between 2 pages; Products.aspx and ProductDetail.aspx. On Products.aspx i have about 15 DDL's on the left side (all set to autopostback), and 1 ListView ond the right side. Results in my ListView control are based on selcted items from DLL's on the left. Every single result in Products.aspx has a dynamical hyperlink to the ProductDetail.aspx. Now when I click on specific product in ListView I'm redirected to ProductDetail.aspx page, and everything works fine! If I click on the Back button in IE or FF it works also fine because it returns me to the previous Products.aspx page and all my results based on selected items in DDL's are still there!
The problem comes when causing some more autopostback's in ProductDetail.aspx page, because every autopostback is counted as a new page request and therefore i have to click Back button in IE or FF for more then 1 time to come back to the previous Products.aspx page.
I tried to implement code BELOW in ProductDetail.aspx.vb but it does not completly fulfill my expectations, becase all my searching criteria are lost when returned to the previous page (Products.aspx)

May 13, 2010I have a Default(contains the sign-out button) and Login page, once the user is not authenticated, it will always redirect the user to login page.
So the scenario is when the user hit the sign-out button it will redirect him to the login page which is good. My problem is, when the user hits theprevious or back button from the login page,it will still read the authorization cookies and redirect him to the default page. which should not be the case. the user should be redirected to login page when authentication is invalid.
I've read some solutions on the net, but still it doesn't work for me. below are the codes I've used for my sign-out function

By the way, when the user is authenticated, the previous or back button is available/enable for the user.
