Installed WebMatrix today to see what it is. I see a Visual Studio button in the ribbon.
What is it's purpose? When I click nothing happens.
I have VWD Express 2010/ VS 2005 Pro installed on my machine - XP.
My existing system has Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. But Microsoft web installer for Webmatrix has made Wematrix Launch ribbon menu pointing to Visual Studio 2008. How could I make Webmatrix point to Visual Web Express 2010. To make use of IntelliSense and the debugger, I have to manually launch Visual Web Developer 2010 Express.

(Maybe it's all the beta software I'm using to build this website ;-) )I'm trying to use the Facebook helpers, which use the WebMatrix.Data and WebMatrix.WebData libraries. These work fine from my class files, but apparently I can't use them in my .cshtml files.Anybody run into this? Alle references to classes in these libraries break my site (not my build btw?). I am attempting to make an application with two buttons. One that launches the game created by Gearbox Software called Borderlands (of course, if it is installed)
and another that launches a program called WillowTree.I am pretty new at all of this and I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction?
I have one dot net application giving me grief. The Start Arrow button is disabled. Also, the Debug --- Start option is disabled as is the Debug --- Start Without Debugging option. It runs fine from IIS and if I right click and view in browser. It is only this one appliction. I got a fresh version from VSS and no better.

One button I always had on the 'HTML Source Editing' toolbar was Format Document, as found in the Edit menu, however in VS2010 it isn't visible. If I go to add it, it doesn't exist in the options.The toolbar currently holds Format Selection, Decrease Indent, Increase Indent, Comment, Uncomment, Schema and accessibility.I bring up the Customize dialogue box (Add or Remove Buttons/Customize), then in the Commands tab I click Add Command... In the Add Command dialogue box, I choose Edit from the categories list on the right and yet in the commands list, Format Document isn't there anymore as it was in VS2008.Yes I could just use the Edit menu command, or even the keyboard shortcut, but that's too long-winded and the toolbar button is now sorely missed.Has this been somewhat arbitrarily removed from VS 2010 or is it hidden elsewhere?
View 4 RepliesI just recently upgrade my asp.net web project from visual studio 2005 to visual studio 2010. The upgrade was successful with no problems however im missing some features with this project. The One Click Publish feature(which is greyed out) in the header area of Visual Studio 2010 and the Add Config Transforms feature which is no where to be seen when you right click on web.config. When i create a new web project straight from visual studio 2010, these options work fine.
View 1 RepliesVisual Studio 2010 Beta 2 locked up, and when I tried to restart it, it wouldn't load, so I did a devenv.exe /resetuserdata to get it going again. It reset everyhing in my options of the web app/ etc, and now some AJAX conrols don't work such as dragpanel. I assume that it is because something got reset that I haven't enabled again, but can't figure it out.

In my investigating i have come across number of tools(shown below) to use with Visual Studio 2008 professional
Development tool:- Visual Studio 2008 professional using Subversion as source control tool. Continuous Integration:- Hudson or Cruise control Build tool:- NAnt Testing:- NUnit, Selinium As Visual Studio 2008 can be used for unit testing I think NUnit is out of consideration.
In the same way i would like to have any other tools/add-ons to Visual studio to implement continuous integration, building and unit testing. This process should be automated such a way source code between team members is continuously integrated, built and unit testing is done as configured.
Objective is to use few number of tools as add-on to Visual Studio or achieve most from Visual studio itself (example unit testing). Visual Studio should be all in one tool.
I am aware that Team Foundation Server best suits my requirement, but it is out of scope due to its cost.
I am building master page in visual studio 2005 and I have placed contentplaceholder into between <head> and </head> tag of master page, but in source view of visual studio 2005, I am getting error that says "unrecognized tag prefix or device filter" how do i get rid of this error or is this bug in visual studio 2005
