I am showing some information on mouse hovering on the links. I am doing this by making an AJAX call on mouse hover the the links and fetching the data from database.
Problem is that if I mouse hover several times on the same link it will make the AJAX call and hit the database in each time. But I want if it once fetch the data from the database for a specific link on second time mouse hover it should not hit the database again. For this I need to store the data in client side some where and reuse it(I think).
What is the best approach to handle this situation?
P.S: I am having more than 20 such links in the page.
I have a menu control on a master page with mouse hovering effects that is populated dynamically. Now i am playing .flv video on the content page. Everything works fine, but when a mouse is hovered on a menuItem, .flv video is hanging. Is it because of javascript execution when the mouse is hover on a menuItem?
I want to do something like netflix, where when you hover over something like a hyperlink (netflix, is an image) a panel displays, when the mouse moves off of the control, the panel hides itself.Any suggestions on how to do this and with which control? The AnimationExtender will display the panel, but won't close the panel as I am limited to one Animation.
I have a gridview with list of companies. So you have a control like a button. When the user mouses over the button a picture should change to a picture that is relevant for that button. If the button says "trees" then the picture should show trees when the button is moused over. If a diferent button says "horses" then the picture should show horses when the horses button is moused over. I have AJAX and the control toolkit installed.

I have used a ajax control toolkit slide shox extender to display a slide show of images.
Currently, when a user hovers mouse over the slide show, the slide keeps on changing. I want that the slide should not change, if a user hovers the mouse.
I've seen 100s of posts on how to change the mouse cursor using JavaScript/CSS. I know how to do that. Problem is, how do you get the browser to actually respect the change without the user moving the mouse? Update the cursor immediately, not wait for the mouse to move.I'm actually not even trying to change the mouse cursor, as much as just having dynamic content change that may end up with the mouse being over a different target now, and the new target now should have a different mouse cursor than the previous target. but IE7/8 and Chrome do not update the mouse cursor when this happens. They only update it next time the user moves the mouse. Firefox (3.5) seems to update correctly, but I haven't tested it a lot.
For example, the user clicks a control on my page, and maybe another control opens due to the click (maybe a modal dialog). Now maybe there is a different control under the mouse, but the mouse is still showing the cursor of the control the user originally clicked.
I have a 'MaskedEditExtender' textbox for phone number on my application. On IE, when someone clicks somewhere in the middle of the textbox using the mouse, on the first click the cursor is actually placed at the first digit of the number. On the next click positions it is at the mouse position. However, on other browsers like Chrome, Firefox, etc.. on the first click of the mouse, the cursor position is at the mouse position (not at the first digit of the number). There does not seem to be any special code written to specify this behaviour. Is there a default behaviour for 'MaskedEditExtender' on IE which results in this?

I need to change the mouse pointer style to "HAND" like looking thing when i hover my mouse over accordian control or rather an accordian pane.How can i do that?
This happens only sometimes on the same code, but when I open a modal popup window, mouse focus stays on the background and buttons on the modal popup does not response.
If I move the mousepointer, I can see that buttons on the background are highlighted by mouseover, and I can even click on them.
I have tried to find when this happens by trying different mouse movement without luck.
Does any one have the same experience? I would like to know why this happens and/or how I can pretend this behavior.
I have added 4 CollapsiblePanel programmatically and it is working with IE7 and IE8 but it is not working with IE6 its behaving flashing while expand and collapse and on mouse move to the panel.
