I have a DropDownList bounded from the code behind. How can I use the DataTextField as a ToolTip of the DropDownList?
DropDownList list = this.DropDownList1;
list.DataSource = GetData();
list.DataTextField = "DisplayString";
list.DataValueField = "DataValue";
list.DataBind();
I want the bounded Field DisplayString to bounded also in the ToolTip. Is this possible without using the DataBound event of the DropDownList?
So I have a major issue and cannot find any solution online to solve it excepting one that is singlistviews. But i am also encounting some probs with listviews since i am not sure of to use it.Anyways so my major issue is that I have drop down lists that are being populated by a sqldatasource. Users are filling out a form selecting values in the drop down list which is fine, the prob exists with editing a record. I have the dataValuefield to be the Id of the data and the selected item in the dropdownlist id is being stored in a database. So I have the data in the database that is the Id of the selected item however I cant use the dropdownlist1.selectValue ='idNo' since that only works with listitems.
How can i access the dynamic rows in a dropdownlist that is being populated by a sqldatasource and set the selected item to a particular item?Any insight is greatly welcome. Even how to use listviews

I have a dropdownlist that's being populated from a SQL datasource. I would also like to have a tooltip for each dropdownlist list item on mouse over. I found the example below which adds a title attribute for each list item using the listitem text as a tooltip but I want to make the title/tooltip value another field in the database. In other words,

The end result would be something like this where the text for 'title' comes from the database

After a little hard work I was finally able to bind jqgrid in asp.net, but now I am facing another problem that is I am not able to sort the data or use pagination in jqgrid. I bind custom DataTable to DataGrid through ObjectDataSource, where i use SelectMethod and UpdateMethod. SelectMethod working great, but when I try to update row it's breaking by MissingMethodException. What should i do to fix this problem?

I have binded 2 fields in a gridview ("Type" and "TypeWho") which are pulled out of a SQL database... When both the binded fields display "Note", I only want to display "Note" once so that it doesn't display "Note Note" to the end user... there are other values which are stored under the fields: "Type" and "TypeWho" or I would just remove one of the fields altogether... below is code for my binding fields with in the gridview

View 4 RepliesI have a details page containing a form field named UserId. On the same page i have another search form with a field also named UserId.
I am using Html.LabelFor(vm > vm.UserId) and Html.TextBoxFor(sm > sm.UserId) on the two different view models, vm being the view model and sm being the search model. (Yes, the UserId property on the two models has identical names - because they are the same domain property.
When i navigate to the page, the populated UserId on the vm is inserted into BOTH form fields named UserId by MVC. Even the sm.UserId are empty.
That is my initial problem. There are a few ways ti avoid that. My solution was to use the Prefix flag for the sm.

My problem is that MVC can't map the Search.UserId (because of the .) to fit the UserId (prefixed with Search) in the action shown above.
So it seems like MVC has a prefix-feature, that are actually nok fully supported through the Route-handler.
Ofcourse i could rename the Search.UserId to Search_UserId, but then the name dosent match the name MVC expects in the recieving action above. (expects Search.UserId) Renaming The UserId property of the search model would fix the issue, but since it is the same value in the domain, this seems like a workaround.
