I'm trying to create an visual designer like Visual Studio, Expression Blend, Dreamweaver etc as an ONLINE APPLICATION (ASP.NET).
Can Silverlight be helpful with this? What are the things i need to be aware of before starting developing this online app? How good is it dragging, dropping & moving controls around with Silverlight?
I have some webforms in an Asp.Net V2.0 generated using Visual Studio 2005 using Web site technology
Want to import them in to Visual Studio 2008 set to v3.5 (Asp.Net MVC) - where I use Project technology
I'm using Add > Existing Item - Which brings in Whatever.aspx & Whatever.aspx.cs There is no Whatever.aspx.designer.cs to import
How do you force it to be generated ?
This is my first silverlight Application. I am trying to use Rating Control from 3.0 Toolkit with VisualStudio 2008 Here are the problems: I am unable to see designer view after adding Rating Control and few other controls. I am not getting any errors or warnings on markup or while compiling. Trying to access Property window for any control is giving me this message " Property Editing not available". Is this the way silverlight was made available with Visual Studio or is there something I am missing here?

Server Page:
A game will be loaded with an xml which contains the instruments for this game and each instrument initial and changing factor price(which determines the price for the next interval ex: 1 min).
User Page:
After the game is loaded successfully, Users can launch a page where they can buy/sell instruments. During this buy/selling process, the profit/loss should be shown to user in real time. A dropdown will be populated with the instruments, when selected, should show a real time graph of the price.
Design:
I want to use ASP.NET and silverlight to develop this application where an ajax request will be sent in configurable time to the server to get the latest details about the instruments. Then based on the response, the client browser will be updated with the latest prices. The instrument graph also will be updated in the same way. So, I would like to know whether this is a right way of building this applicaiton.
I was asked to design an online game of cards (eg poker) multiplayer technology with asp.net mvc, and I went to see other sites like that have asked me. I noticed that many sites dump the game on the platform and then winform can play safely. I thought of using WCF and Silverlight together with asp.net mvc. How to understand the technology associated with the WCF card games online, where can I find examples of online games of cards?

I'm asking this because I've an asp.net application where I dynamically create/delete lots of controls. So after the postback I'm getting error with view state stating that the control tree doesn't match the view state tree.
Can I avoid such problems in Silverlight?
I'm working on a Web Application in Visual Studio 2008. For some reason the CSS only works properly inside visual studio. I can see the CSS inside the design view of the page. When I view the page on localhost the CSS is not being applied. This is just a very simple sample that I am working with. Only 2 pages, a master page, and a default page.

I have a problem in which some nested controls on a page are not updated in the designer file. I have deleted the designer file, selected Convert to Web Application, but still the controls are missing.

We converted our web application project into website project..We had resources created in first project..after conversion the resources doenst seem to work..I get an error saying "Resources is not a member of My" ....So I have created a new resource file and tried to generate designer.vb file...I have tried using resgen but I get errors.. Is there any other way this can be done.
I will be creating a webform that will require online application and sending/uploading of resume that will later be forwarded to an e-mail address (the resume will be an email attachment). I badly need some tips on this! Really new at these things. I will be using VB to code the web form.

I fixed my last web project and I have to fix another one.I created a new page and it puts the name codefile attribute correctly.I paste in the html, but it doesn't create the designer file.All I see is the aspx and the .vb code file.

View 1 RepliesWithing Microsoft's Visual Web Developer 2010 Express, I am trying to link an MS Access 2000 database to a web form using the Toolbox tool provided with the program. In the second dialog box where you specify the database to use, it shows that the Data_App folder is empty, yet in the windows explorer window the file is clearly there.
Is this a limitation of the evaluation version, too old of Access database file, or something stupid that I am doing? I gotta admit, I am a newby to .NET and ASP.NET, but I can create other aspx web forms with no problems.
I can connect to the MS Web Server, for instance.
I'd use MySQL, but it doesn't want to work on my computer.
