C# - Duplicate The Same Page On Two Monitors In VS2010?
Jul 13, 2010
I'm wondering if it's possible to duplicate the same page on two monitors. So sorta like split view, but instead of just split in the middle have it duplicate in a new window.
Is this possible in VS2010?

I have a gridview with delete buttons for each record (I've used AccessDataSource). I have loaded the data in and have many duplicate records.
I just want to use the delete button delete each duplicate record while remains many duplicate records. For example:
I used the following query to load in duplicate records:
SELECT * FROM TableA WHERE ([ControlA] IN (SELECT [ControlA] FROM TableA GROUP BY [ControlA] HAVING (COUNT [ControlA]) > 1)))
ID ControlA PIN# FaceValue Date
delete 76637 128232 1234 5 6/4/2006
delete 72722 128232 1234 5 6/4/2006
delete 76638 234567 2345 10 7/3/2006
delete 72723 234567 2345 10 7/3/2006
What is the query to delete single duplicate record instead of deleting all duplicate records?

I am using the original masterpage template in VS2010 to have a consitency with all my web pages for my site. However, i noticed that the web page does not fill the browser completely, it is much smaller. How can I adjust the size of the web page so that is fills the browser completely?
I have looked at all the options in properties but had no luck so far!

We have developed the Application using Visual Studio 2008, After publish we got the issue like After Submitting the Form the user can able to Move Backward and do the Refresh. This will again triggers the Submit Post Back and the Duplicate Record Created As Well.
This is happening for all the Web Forms. How to Avoid this ? I need a Generic Solution where i can implement that logic in Base Page then the rest of the Pages this functionality will be covered by default.
Moreover, Before Refresh We should also intimate user "Do you Want to Post the Same Data Again ?", if the user clicks Yes then it can allow the same record can be posted again.
How to do this ?? But i cannot disable the Browser Features like back, forward and Others. I have found many solutions in various web sites but it is also happening for the Validation Part Also...

Why is there no default 'create/open' access to 'WebSites' from the VS2010 start page?
Background:I've succesfully been developing ASP.NET web applications (via WebSite method ((((Not WebProjects)))), using VisualWebDeveloper) for roughly 3 years. Personally, I prefer the WebSite method or strategy due to the decrease in both size and complexity (the web applications I build are generally for around 50-100 simultaneous users logging in and out and constantly manipulating data). I will continue bulding my sites via the 'Website' method provided VS2010 doesn't begin it's deprecation.The root of this question (which boiled into this post) came from perusing this article and this video tutorial. It's a shame to see functionality that brings with it an overall ease of use and increase in production capacity by decreasing both size and complexity of web application development... downplayed.
If the Visual Studio 2010 Development Team left this functionality out for a reason, I would very much like to know. So that I know what is going to be "sponsored by Microsoft" in a couple of years and I don't waste another second considering using the 'WebSite method' as a viable solution (as I know that I can't stick with vs2008 while rest the development community gets to evolve with the innovations implemented within vs2010)... WebSite method or the WebProjects method.

Regarding Linq to SQL with .SQLEXPRESS and VS2010 on Windows 7, I am trying to add a list of entries to an empty table that I have confirmed programmatically does not have duplicate keys. Some info about the situation:Note: The key strings have Unicode characters (English and Chinese mixed).

if there is anyway that I could duplicate controls in a asp.net pages. So for example, currently for one of my pages, I have a panel at the top of the page with alot of controls in them ( eg next/previous buttons, labels, trees, etc). However I wanted to add the exact duplicate of this panel on the bottom of the page aswell, with exact functionality.

Are there any tutorials on how to use FBA within VS2010 and .NET 4.0? When I build a new web app, FBA is already set up but not configured. I'd like to use SQL server for the source.
I was walking through the tutorials on this site but I'm getting confused because some things are already in place.
Anything specific to .Net 4.0?

our company just upgraded to VS2010, but we have not upgraded to .NET 3.5 or 4.0 yet, we're unfortunately still using 2.0. I have the toolkit for 2.0 that I was using with VS2008, but now that I am using VS2010, my AJAX items no longer work. I was wondering first of all if it's even possible to use the old 2.0 toolkit with VS2010, and if so, is there something special I need to do to get the controls to work now that I have opened my project in VS2010?

Both VS200 and IIS are in my local machine. Suppose they have the same permission. I create a silverlight4 w/ wcf ria service project. The project runs well in VS2010 built-in ASP.Net development server. It doesn't work well after i publish it to IIS. I only can see its static content but not the .svc. i try to browse the .svc, it always show HTTP 500 error. I doubt if i do not open the asp.net runtime setting sth in IIS?

I am working on a large website that is comprised of multiple applications. We are still using web forms. All of the applications are in a common directory that serves as the root directory in my localhost. The site was originally built in 2005 on 3.5 but has been migrated to 2010 still running on 3.5 (2.0). My problem is that my debugger will run once. After I stop debugging I cannot run the debugger again - it just hangs. My locals and watch windows open but do not populate and the browser never opens. We are running Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate on Windows 7 32 bit.

Visual Studio 2010 hangs up more tha 20 times in a working day. I'm thinking of going back to 2008 but that is such a hassle. Mostly it hangs when debugging starts and when I open a xaml file. I'm doing silverlight/WCF development.I have HP I7 laptop, 8gig, windows 7 64bit.

I need little advice from you who has experiences in EF4 and IBatis. I would like to upgrade my applications that used IBatis technology and VS2005 to VS2010. The reasons of upgrading are i would like to use the latest technology and also enhance my applications with features that not provided in .Net 2.0
I already try EF4 in VS2010. It looks like nice feature to create application but i need more information about it advantage and disadvantage in performance,security,stability etc. As information, i was using generator to wrap IBatis.Net and VS2005, so it seem the .edmx file similar with classes that my generator was created

I just discovered that a (simple) website I'm working on will be deployed to a server running framework 2.0. My quandry is that I started it using VS2010 and framework 4.0.
Is the solution as simple as changing the compile to options? I'm assuming that I'll have to remove the Listview controls I am using as they didn't get introduced until 3.5 (i think).
Am I basically correct with this or am I missing something?

I have a web application I want to deploy via Web Deploy, using "Build Deployment Package"
It has a folder called "Errors". This is part of the project. Web Deploy adds it, but how do I specify that i want the application to have Write permissions on this folder?
Do I have to manually edit the source manifest each time, or can I set it somewhere to get the package to do it automagically?

When we have anything that requires user input (Eg adding a product to a database) the Edit screen looks the same as the add screen. When using MVC .Net how do you handle this? Do you return the same view? Just adjust the model to reflect the change?

// Create new row and add it to the table.
TableRow tRow = new TableRow();
Table1.Rows.Add(tRow);
for (cellCtr = 1; cellCtr <= cellCnt; cellCtr++)

TableCell tCell = new TableCell();
tCell.Text = "Row " + rowCtr + ", Cell " + cellCtr;
