I have a GridView which has Edit/Update functionality. However, when I am clicking it once, it is not firing. I have to click it again to fire. Rest part is working fine.
I have a GridView which has normal Edit/Update button. However, my GV RowUpdating, RowEditing & RowCancelingEdit is working with 2 clicks. If I am clicking it once, its not working :(
Here is the code where I am populating everything:
public partial class Testing : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { string getEntity = Request.QueryString["EntityID"];
[Code]....
This is my whole code at code behind. What I am doing wrong here?
[Code].... all of a sudden my GridView has stopped firing the row update event. Friday I was working on it and was working flawlessly. Now I haven't made any changes to the code and all of a suddent has stopped working (yes rediculously bizarre and have been banging my head all day thinking what the something is wrong with it, excuse my french).
Everyone of those events fire except the update. I click the update button and nothing happens.
I am looking to enable/disable controls (TextBox, DropDownList, etc.) in a GridViews template column based on the users specific access level when the user clicks the edit button. I have tried the following two methods:
I am faced with a tricky scenario. My application (WEB) is in .NET 3.5 using C# as the development language. My page is having a number of User controls, each with a Save button of its own.
Now my Page containing the User Controls also has a button named SAVE. Now all these User Controls are dynamically populated in the page with respect to some events and all of them are inside individual Update Panels.
Now my requirement is ONCLICK of the SAVE button in the page, the clicks of the SAVE buttons of the user controls will get fired. But since its an asynchronous call (since I am using AJAX through UPDATE PANELS), it will be a heavy overload if all the clicks get fired simultaneously.
So I thought of having sequential clicks done, i.e., after the successful completion of the Click of User Control 1, the click of User Control 2 will get fired and so on.
I presume this can be done with Server Callback, but I am at a loss how to proceed with it.
I have a gridview with rows of data and a group of radio buttons for each row that can be selected. But when selected the event never fires for the radio dropdown.... why?
I have a GridView, which features a a checkbox on each row (in a template field), where it calls a method upon checked changed (well, when they click submit - no auto post back)
My problem is, the checked change refuses to fire more than once - if I just change the check state of one checkbox in the grid, it works fine. More than one and it only fires the event once.
I'm sure I'm missing something extremely obvious here, but at this point I can't see it so I need the help.Anyway, I've got a repeater inside of an UpdatePanel. As of right now, I've stripped it down to this, just to try and isolate the problem:
[Code]....
Whether I add the handler during itemdatabound or I add the handler within the repeater itself, it doesn't seem to matter...the event itself doesn't fire. The AutoPostback itself seems to fire, but the event itself doesn't.
I have a gridview where i have a radio button. What i need is to on the selection of the radiobutton i have to find the datakey of the gridview. Also one more issue with that is , i can select more than one radio button, which should not happen.
I have a gridview, sqldatasource and a link button for delete in the sample code below
When Delete is click the confirmation pops up. When I confirm yes, the rowdeleting event doesn't seem to be firing. I addeed a label to see if the event is firing. To avoid runtime errors I added a dummy but actual sql delete command. Once If I get it to work, I want call a stored procedure to delete the row.
My question is
1. Why is the gridview row deleting event not fired.
I have a GridView control bound to an AccessDataSource. After selecting a row I'm creating a table inside the selected row. I'm adding Buttons to this table. Their Click event never gets fired. I read about recreating the buttons and stuff, but still no luck solving the issue.
I have a very simple page that consisist of an UpdatePanel that contains a gridview. The gridview includes a delete button for each row, which should fire the Delete event. But the event never fires. If I set a breakpoint inside the event handler, it never gets hit and the row does not get deleted. When I say OK on the confirm dialog it just goes back to the page. I tried taking out the confirm button extender
I have a GridView that uses custom paging inside an UpdatePanel (so that the paging and sorting of the gridview don't cause postback). The sorting works fine, but the paging doesn't. The PageIndexChanging event is never called. This is the aspx code:
<asp:UpdatePanel runat="server" ID="upSearchResults" ChildrenAsTriggers="true" UpdateMode="Always"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:GridView ID="gvSearchResults" runat="server" AllowSorting="true" AutoGenerateColumns="false" AllowPaging="true" PageSize="10" OnDataBound="gvSearchResults_DataBound" OnRowDataBound ="gvSearchResults_RowDataBound" OnSorting="gvSearchResults_Sorting" OnPageIndexChanging="gvSearchResults_PageIndexChanging" Width="100%" EnableSortingAndPagingCallbacks="false"> <Columns> <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Select" HeaderStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center"> <ItemTemplate> <asp:HyperLink ID="lnkAdd" runat="server">Add</asp:HyperLink> <asp:HiddenField ID="hfPersonId" runat="server" Value='<%# Eval("Id") %>'/> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> <asp:BoundField HeaderText="First Name" DataField="FirstName" HeaderStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center" ItemStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center" SortExpression="FirstName" /> <asp:BoundField HeaderText="Last Name" DataField="LastName" HeaderStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center" ItemStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center" SortExpression="LastName" /> <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Phone Number" HeaderStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center" ItemStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center" > <ItemTemplate> <asp:Label ID="lblPhone" runat="server" Text="" /> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> </Columns> <PagerTemplate> <table width="100%" class="pager"> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> </table> </PagerTemplate> </asp:GridView> <div class="btnContainer"> <div class="btn btn-height_small btn-style_dominant"> <asp:LinkButton ID="lbtNewRecord" runat="server" OnClick="lbtNewRecord_Click"><span>Create New Record</span></asp:LinkButton> </div> <div class="btn btn-height_small btn-style_subtle"> <a onclick="openParticipantModal();"><span>Cancel</span></a> </div> </div> </ContentTemplate> <Triggers> <asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="gvSearchResults" EventName="PageIndexChanging" /> <asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="gvSearchResults" EventName="Sorting" /> </Triggers> </asp:UpdatePanel> In the code behind I have a SetPaging method that is called on the GridView OnDataBound event: private void SetPaging(GridView gv) { GridViewRow row = gv.BottomPagerRow; var place = row.Cells[0]; var first = new LinkButton(); first.CommandName = "Page"; first.CommandArgument = "First"; first.Text = "First"; first.ToolTip = "First Page"; if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(first); var lbl = new Label(); lbl.Text = " "; if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(lbl); var prev = new LinkButton(); prev.CommandName = "Page"; prev.CommandArgument = "Prev"; prev.Text = "Prev"; prev.ToolTip = "Previous Page"; if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(prev); var lbl2 = new Label(); lbl2.Text = " "; if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(lbl2); for (int i = 1; i <= gv.PageCount; i++) { var btn = new LinkButton(); btn.CommandName = "Page"; btn.CommandArgument = i.ToString(); if (i == gv.PageIndex + 1) { btn.BackColor = Color.Gray; } btn.Text = i.ToString(); btn.ToolTip = "Page " + i.ToString(); if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(btn); var lbl3 = new Label(); lbl3.Text = " "; if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(lbl3); } var next = new LinkButton(); next.CommandName = "Page"; next.CommandArgument = "Next"; next.Text = "Next"; next.ToolTip = "Next Page"; if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(next); var lbl4 = new Label(); lbl4.Text = " "; if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(lbl4); var last = new LinkButton(); last.CommandName = "Page"; last.CommandArgument = "Last"; last.Text = "Last"; last.ToolTip = "Last Page"; if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(last); var lbl5 = new Label(); lbl5.Text = " "; if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(lbl5); }
The paging works if I don't use custom paging, but I really need to use the custom paging. I can't figure out why the PageIndexChanging event isn't fired when I'm using the custom paging.
I have an inner gridview called MyInnerGridView and I have operations I need to do in the Row_Updating event but this event is only firing for the last row of the outer gridview. I have pared down the sub to the following and the exception is only thrown when I try to edit an inner gridview record of the last record of the outer gridview.
[Code]....
why this is happening when I edit an inner gridview record of the last row of the outer gridview?
on the code page I have mapped the OnCommand event to the following code
Code:
Protected Sub ImageButton_Command(ByVal sender As Object, _ ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.CommandEventArgs) Try Dim img As ImageButton = CType(sender, ImageButton) img.BorderStyle = BorderStyle.Ridge SortOrder = e.CommandArgument BindData() Catch exc As Exception ProcessModuleLoadException(Me, exc) End Try End Sub
My problem is that by clicking on the image button in the gridview header, the OnCommand event is not being fired. I have tried this with both OnClick and OnCommand and neither fires. I can't see what I am doing wrong if anything.
In a .Net 2.0 project, I have a Calendar control within a GridView that has a method set for its OnSelectionChanged event. However, the event never fires and I don't understand why. Here's what's in my aspx page:
I have a Master/Slave GrisViews or some say Parent/Child GridViews.
i want to set my button visible=false in the child gridview if data is not exist.
i try this:
Protected Sub gv_child_RowDataBound(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewRowEventArgs) If e.Row.RowType = DataControlRowType.DataRow Then e.Row.Attributes.Add("onmouseover", "this.style.backgroundColor='#FFC080';") e.Row.Attributes.Add("onmouseout", "this.style.backgroundColor='';") Dim lblitemid As Label = CType(e.Row.Cells(1).Controls(1), Label) Dim lblphoto As Label = CType(e.Row.Cells(11).Controls(1), Label)
[Code]......
but it does not working. the button is still there.
I have a ImageButton inside a gridview. The gridview is inside update panel. i want to redirect to another page with the Clicking of the ImageButton. But it is not working inside update panel. what should i do?
i hv a gridview in modal popup,I hv taken checkboxes in itemtemplate and written code in javascript function to checked or uncheck the checkboxes.and in pageindexchanged event calling that javascript function to maintain the state of checkboxes.it is working fine.but when i put it inside update panel nothing is happening.
