running the website and viewing the page source, I have realised that there is an OnClick event created for the linkbutton, however, this may be generated anyways. By running my solution using VS debugging, I can see that my method won't fire by clicking any of thos generated linkbuttons.

Jul 29, 2010I utilized the "Enhancing the GridView (Inserting a New Record from the GridView’s Footer)" tutorial as an example to add a new record to the Access Database through the footer. Put a break at the RowCommand, but that never happens and the data that I put into the cells in the footer just sit there when I click the ADD link. I have included the portion of the code in CourseBuildDetail.apsx that deals with the TAB that contains the GridView, along with ObjectDataSource and the code that should be triggered when the Add link is click - CourseBuildDetail.apsx.cs. So - what am I missing - example works great.

Jun 22, 2010I am adding numerical page links for paging of a repeater. I have used on of the numerical paging samples as my base. It works fine if I have less pages than my maximum total links. Eg if I have 11 pages, but only showing page 1-10 plus a next for the 11th, I get an error about duplicate control ids. I changed my control id to use a Guid in the string to keep it unque, after making this change the event handler never fires

Aug 19, 2010I have a gridview,sqldatasource and a link button for delete in the sample code below
When Delete is click the confirmation pops up. When I confirm yes, the rowdeleting event doesn't seem to be firing. I addeed a label to see if the event is firing. To avoid runtime errors I added a dummy but actual sql delete command. Once If I get it to work, I want call a stored procedure to delete the row.
My question is
1. Why is the gridview row deleting event not fired.

But the event never fires. If I set a breakpoint inside the event handler, it never gets hit and the row does not get deleted. When I say OK on the confirm dialog it just goes back to the page. I have an inner gridview called MyInnerGridView and I have operations I need to do in the Row_Updating event but this event is only firing for the last row of the outer gridview. I have pared down the sub to the following and the exception is only thrown when I try to edit an inner gridview record of the last record of the outer gridview.

The user control name is passed as a parameter on the URL.
Inside the user, there is a LinkButton. The link button has a simple server side code for OnClick event.
Everything is working fine on the production machine, but, on the Development machine, I can see incorrect behaviour. I have started making some development changes on the Development Machine since several months back, and it will be very difficult to find out what caused the problem.
When I click the LinkButton inside the user control, the user control is removed from the parent page, and the OnClick event of the LinkButton is not firing.
I did debug, and found out that after I click on the LinkButton inside the user control, then the Page Load events for the master page and the ASPX page are working fine, and the IsPostBack is set to true, but the OnClick event of the LinkButton is not firing.

Aug 25, 2010I have written some code to dynamically generate template columns for gridview which works well. However, each cell in the gridview has to be a linkbutton, which when clicked does a db update and redirects to a specific url with some parameters in it.
I have attached a click event handler to the linkbutton in the InstantiateIn method but the event does not seem to fire.

Oct 28, 2010So I have a GridView control with autogenerated column set to true, it also has autogenerated Edit and Delete buttons, sorting and paging, and also I am binding this same gridview to multiple data sources at runtime. All is working well.
Now I am adding a dynamically generated footer row at runtime. This footer row will allow users to add new record regardless which data source it binds to. So it is working as well except there's a small bug I couldn't figure out why. It's when I navigate to the last page of the gridview, if the rows on the last page is less than the page size, for example, I have page size 10 and the rows in last page is 9, then when I click the 'Add' linkbutton, the Add event does not fire, instead, it fill the last page with additional blank rows, that means if the last page has 5 rows, it will fill 5 blank rows below, if it has 9 rows, it will fill 1 blank row below. Then if you click the add again, it will work. If the last page already has 10 rows then, it works just fine.

VS 2008 Linkbutton Click Event Not Firing?

all of a sudden my GridView has stopped firing the row update event. Friday I was working on it and was working flawlessly. Now I haven't made any changes to the code and all of a suddent has stopped working (yes rediculously bizarre and have been banging my head all day thinking what the something is wrong with it, excuse my french).
Everyone of those events fire except the update. I click the update button and nothing happens.

Feb 10, 2011I am trying to create a custom GridView with a header toolbar at the top that will contain icons to export the grid view to different formats like excel, word, etc.. The problem is, I cannot get the method to fire that is assigned to handle the click event for the corresponding Image Button. The page posts back, but the code I have in the method to handle the click event does not fire. I have followed examples in other posts and from what I can tell I have followed what others have done. Can somebody take a look at see if they can find something that I am doing wrong.

AJAX :: Accordion With LinkButton OnClick Event Not Firing?
Apr 6, 2010I have two problems with a databound AJAX Accordion. The Accordion looks like this:

The first problem I'm having is that this subroutine is not fired (I have a breakpoint in it) when the LinkButton inside the accordion is clicked. The Page_Load event fires and there is no error message, javascript errors, etc, but nothing else happens.
The second problem is that I'm not sure how to go backwards with the databind. I want to be able to make use of the UpdateMethod in the ObjectDataSource because I also have textboxes inside the accordion. I will have a Save subroutine that can be called but I'm not sure what code to put inside it.
