how do i go about modifying the display of the validationSummary control in asp.net i want to modify it completely not just modify the color of the text etc.has anyone got any sample code etc ?

Adding an Accordion only creates the outer most tags. I then have to add the headercssclass, contentcssclass etc. info. Then i have to manually add <Pane> tags, and then add Accordion Pane controls. Using VWDE 2008, is there a way to customize the control so that adding the Accordion control automatically adds this other info? Ideally with 2 Accordion Panes to start, but even just getting the various Accordion properties and the <Pane> tags added would make it much more <Pane>less!
View 3 Replies have a page that has a validation summary control. On this page I have a nested user control (Control1). nside Control1 is another nested control (Control2). I have a CustomValidator on a textbox inside Control2.
Although the validation works on this textbox, the error message doesn't get bound to the ValidationSummary control. Is there limitations to the ValidationSummary control with nested controls?
I have looked at lots threads and cannot find a definitive answer to how a user can simply exit a page without adding any fields to the data entry form.
View 9 RepliesI've written code that can make a phone dial a number from a function call, that's done and dusted. What I would like to achieve is adding a Dial button to each phone number field on the forms in Dynamics CRM. Eventually this could also create a new phone record fill in the basic details and show it to the user to enter notes and an outcome for the phone call, and perhaps some other workflow bits to schedule the next call.
Can I put a custom control on a standard form in place of the standard control. I'm assuming it would have to be an IFrame to an asp.net page, that pulls in the record id, and the field name, looks up the number to show in a text box, and passes the number to the DialNumber function. I assume its not going to be that easy... Has anyone tried this before, what's the process, what are the gotchas?

I am using the ASP.Net menu control to load the menu items defined in a DB table. The menu items are arranged in the order defined and made visible according to the role settings given. This means that a particular person logging into the system can view only those menus that were given access rights to the role that person represents.
The present control just displays in a horizontal or vertical fashion on hover state. However I would like to customize it so that it appears in a fashion similar to those appearing in the Office 2007 package. ie, if we select Home, we can see all the items under home displayed just below it. This is always displayed until you change the menu item, say to Insert.
Is this possible with the ASP.Net menu control? If it is not, is there any other way I can achieve it. In any case, the menu items must be visible strictly based on the role access settings defined in the DB.

currently I have a website with authentication using Microsoft.IdentityModel.Web.WSFederationAuthenticationModule. It redirects me to login page (single sign-on outside my website) and upon login, I am redirected to default page.
Now, when I was using CreateUserWizard asp.net control, it seems that upon creation of user, the control tried to use my machine name to login to db server (i.e. '$') instead of using SSO login which has just been done.
Does anybody know how to customize the control to use federation login to connect to db server? In addition, how to set so that the control will use certain specified sql account to login to db server?

I am new to ASP.NET so may be my question sounds stupid but here is it anyway: Why a postback happens when we use aValidationSummary control? When I am using RequiredFieldValidator control then postback is not happening if the validation fails which is right. But if I useValidationSummary control then postback starts happening even if the validation should fail.
I have 2 text boxes txtUserName and txtPassword and a button btnLogin on my page. I have a RequiredFieldValidator control for each text box. If any of the text box is empty and I click the Login button, the postback does not happen and I got error message(s) which is good.

View 2 RepliesI have a Gridview control on my webpage which is loaded using a GridViewTemplate dynamically. I have added FormatValidators toemailaddress, date type data fields. I also have a ValidationSummary control to show the error summary at the bottom of the page.Now, on the webpage, when a user enters incorrect data into two emailaddress fields, the ValidationSummary control summarizes the error messages and shows same error message twiceone per row. I think this is a standard behavior of the ValidationSummary control.
My question is, is there anyway to show the error message only once per column i.e. even if two email address fields are incorrect, the error message shown by validationsummary will appear only once instead of twice? I am referring to showing the validationsummary once per column of gridview instead of once per row...
